How can my husband relieve his Sciatica pain?
My husband knows that weight loss, stretching and seeing a chiropractor will help this condition, and I am trying to motivate him to do these things. However, most nights he is in much much pain that he can hardly stand it. He cant find a position that does not cause sharp pain in his thigh and hip. ANy ideas on temporary relief?

I can answer your question with my own experience. I'm not a motorcyclist but a simply a cyclist. I ride a road bike with no shockers and I ride for quite sometime on drops bent down to almost 20 degrees to horizontal to almost 10 degrees to horizontal. I can ride continuously without stopping for 5 hours at least and I have faced back problem earlier but still continue to ride. There are a few very important points to learn:Strengthen your back, abdomen and should blade muscles. Yoga will not only give you strength but also flexibility. Your body is stiff which gives you pain. Surya namaskar is the best exercise , start with 2 surya namaskar, increase to 5 and later to 11 in a day. You stretch out prior to doing it. Bhujang asana is another good one. Markar asana another very good one.Riding posture: you must sit on the bike as far back as possible and then lean at a slight angle forward so as to have all the load coming on your shoulders through your straight hand and very little jerk and load coming on your lower back and upper back. This is what every cyclist does but unfortunately motor cyclist are not aware of the concept of “body fit” I.e. frame size , reach of handle bar, your leaning angle etc. Needs to be correct for you to not ha e any injury. But since cycles have a very small seat you need to have perfect fit of bicycle, but motor bikes have a long seat and you can afford to shift backward and lean at 20 - 30 degrees to vertical and put your hands straight. Pls. Try it out and give me feedback. This was also suggested by a famous sports medicine physiotherapist to me for riding motor bikes.In case you feel pain/numbness in palms due to all load on hand, use padded gloves, the same ones the cyclists use.In case butt pain is observed padded shorts used by cyclists can be worn underneath and you will be far better.Awaiting your feedback

Perhaps seek out an allergist/immunologist. I know this is going to sound crazy but if all else fails (and it sounds like it has) seek advice elsewhere. I have a good friend who is married and has 3 children. It's really strange though. Each time his wife was pregnant they could no longer have sex (unless it was with a condom). It was a condition where something changed in her hormones (when she was pregnant) that every time they had sex his penis would turn to fire, swell up and hurt like hell for hours. Not even a cold shower would ease his penile problems. My point is this... if such a condition could exist that affects my friends so badly, it's possible that perhaps you may have developed some sort of immunological problem or allergy to his seminal fluids causing the problems.
21 weeks pregnant and my back hurts so bad?
You can take Tylenol for pain, but if you do not want to take medicines, try IcyHot or something like that. Also a warm bath to soak in might help. If you can get someone to rub/massage your back that helps me. I am 22 weeks and I constantly get this one spot in my upper right back that aches so bad and if my husband rubs it or if I lay down on the opposite side it helps.

Which pain medicines should I avoid when taking Diovan (valsartan)? (160 mg) This is a antihypertensive, a angiotensin II receptor blocker. I suffer from headaches daily.. and I don't know what OTC painkiller is safe for me to take while on Diovan. Can I take Advil (ibuprofen)? I usually take 2 tablets (400 mg) almost once a week. Can I take Tylenol (acetaminophen)? I don't take Tylenol at all. Only if it's available. Can I take Excedrin? (acetaminophen, aspirin, caffeine)? Taken when I get extreme migraines. Please help I'm suffering a really bad headache and I want relief!

we are concerned, not sure if we should go see a dr.we dont have insurance, so trying to avoid a trip 2 c a dr. if possible. My husband has welded for like almost 20 years? off/on, he seems to cough really bad when he goes back 2 work, as a "welder". He is also a preacher.
