How Can Some People Simply Not Get Bored

Why do people sometimes get bored with their job?

All of the answers are on point. Let me add that taking ownership of the job will go far by way of eliminating boredom.  There are some jobs that simply reek of stolid daily routine and sameness that would drive many people to distraction.  I've had several.  I found in each case that if I could find some small way to make the job mine, to put some special touch on it that gave me pleasure even if no one else knew I'd done it (like the cute cartoons no one knew I drew inside the file folders in the deadly dull file clerk job).  Without a sense of authorship, there is little engagement, no investment, and the job--any job--becomes tedious.  If you have no options in terms of requesting more interesting assignments or changing positions periodically, then put your stamp on the job you're doing.  Invent a time-saving plan or something that will benefit your employer that somehow is related to your job.  Write a new way of doing what you're doing.  Make the job worthy of you instead of seeing your efforts as pointless.

I feel like some people get bored talking to me?

So i wouldn't consider myself 'popular', but i'm also not the most well known girl in my school. I have a good amount of friends, and about 5 best friends that i have a lot of fun with (: we also all hangout together so its like we're practically a family haha. Okay so anyway, i just started track at my school and its 7th and 8th grade. Im in 7th. And all of the seventh graders talk to eighth graders.. I don't talk to any! Every time i talk to one i don't know what to say and then they think I'm boring. But I'm really not, I'm really funny and hyper! So i think i just get caught up in the fact i want to be friends with them and then i get nervous. So what can i do to not get nervous and become friends with 8th graders?

(Ps; don't say I'm over-reacting, its just that it's the cool think to talk to the 8th graders .. Haha :p oh & i talk to the 7th graders normally, its just the 8th graders that i get nervous around!)

Why do some people get bored of sports?

Because no matter the outcome, it does not make a difference. The same teams line up next season and do it again.I don't know the players. I am not someone who makes money in any capacity because of the game. Being the best at a sport does not translate into any real world useful skills. (You can argue that players gain strength and agility, but you can do that other ways. I'm talking about the specific skills required to play each sport.)Players are paid ridiculous amounts of money to do something that does not accomplish any actual good in the world. They are treated like role models simply because they can play a sport better than anyone else, when these are the same type of flawed humans as every other person on earth. Watching these people play a game is in no way interesting to me. I might watch people I know play a sport just because I know them. I think playing sports is a wonderful past time. It's a good thing to get out and play, exercise, meet people. It's not for me though. I prefer reading. I have a cousin who prefers quilting.Would you ever ask why someone would get bored of quilting? Would you go to a baseball game and tell the players that quilting is a much more fun thing to do, and that they should try it? I suppose you would not, because you are a sports fan. You seem to not understand why someone could ever find sports boring. But many of us do. Just as you value a national championship, I value my library, and my cousin values her beautiful quilts. I read, she quilts, you play. I check out book reviews, she watches quilting shows, you watch televised sports. I buy books, she buys fabric, you buy equipment and team gear. Each of our lives are different, we like different things, and other things don't interest us as much.

Why do some people find books boring?

For most people, seemingly because it takes up so much time and concentration. To read a good sized book it takes even a speedy reader quite a few hours and just about all of your concentration. Compare that to, say, a 90 minute film that only requires part of your attention to understand and no work other than observing. People today just honestly aren't wired to put that much effort into entertainment.

Also, reading actually takes a lot of imagination. If you don't have imagination, you can't adequately bring the writer's work to life in your head and thus everything is flat and, well, boring to you. All you see is words. You have to bring all the visualization and sound to life all out of your own creation, and some people can't conjure that with ease. And something like a film is already visualized and totally completely for you, and you just have to, again, observe. That's your only job.

What makes life so boring for some people and how should they change it?

I heard once if you’re bored it’s because you’re boring. lol. There’s some truth to that. It’s all perspective. You can’t rely on other people or things to entertain you. YOU decide your life, how you spend your time and who you spend it with. You can’t blame it on others all the time. If you crave some excitement or something new, just go do it yourself. Find a new activity. Take lessons in something. Take a country drive and go somewhere you’ve never been. You can do this alone or take a friend. Switch things up in your routine. It doesn’t have to cost money. Go for a walk somewhere new to explore. Start an online blog or group of something that interests you. When you start meeting people that are like minded or have a new perspective to yours, you’ll find your far from bored! Listen to some different music. Learn a new skill. Learn to bake or cook or paint or whatever. People that are bored all the time usually like routine and lack the courage to go try something new. Routine is comfortable. It’s safe. I get that. But being safe and comfortable is also stagnation. Nothing new can be explored or learned that way. You can never expand your mind doing the same boring stuff over and over again everyday. That’s stagnation. Your favourite new place is somewhere you had never explored before and it’s waiting for you!
