How Can Someone Get A Job In An Entry-level It Position

Entry level hospital positions?

Unit clerks/ward clerks/unit secretaries - A lot of hospitals are moving away from these positions because of the new medical software that allows doctors to enter their own orders. A lot are combining the unit clerks with the nursing assistants.

Patient Care Techs/Nursing Assistants - Usually you need some sort of training like a CNA or EMT depending on your state and hospital preferences.

Patient transport - unlicensed and usually you need nothing. Bigger hospitals will have more of them.

Stocker

Environmental Services

Dietary Clerk - You prep food and bring trays

The best bet is to look online at your hospitals and see what the job requirements are. Look once a week as job postings vary greatly.

How can someone get their first entry-level job in digital marketing without experience and with just a portfolio?

I would suggest that you start looking for Internships with the possibility of becoming paid gigs after 2 weeks or 30 days. You can also look for paid internships. Once they see the value you offer it is likely that they will hire you and if they can't at least provide a testimonial for your portfolio.Be really active on social media and provide tips and value to your audience. This is a great way to receive inbound leads. Reach out to friends and family who may be business owners who could use your help and offer to give them an audit or consultation in exchange for a testimonial. You can also keep building your own portfolio by creating test accounts on social media and testing out various strategies that you would do for clients as examples. The key here is to really give it a go and not letting a "No" make you feel like it isn't for you. A new business or freelancer always has to work to get their first gig and if you're consistent and deliver quality work, it can only go uphill from there.

How do I get an entry level IT job?

I hire lots of A+ type techs. As a technical hiring manager looking at dozens of candidates at that level of the industry for every position we fill let me make something very clear: Certs might get you an interview, they will not get you the job.In any given interview round, I get at least 20% "Paper MCSEs." I get candidates who can pass tests, have certs, even went to school... and they have so little real world experience that they quickly get passed over for candidates that have no certs and have actual experience. I know that sounds contradictory, but the average person I hire into entry level A+ type work has a minimum 6+ months of other work experience in a position that has good transferable skills. I flat don't hire people with no work experience and a fist full of certs. (Caveat: I do hire Interns who are actively enrolled college students that have no real world experience, and my interns are paid... but those are 10 - 12 week internships in the summer only.)For people wanting to get into entry level IT at the A+ level, we're talking about bench techs, tech support and low level system admins.... I'm looking less at certs and more at your demonstrated ability to solve problems. Now, one of the most frequent entry paths I see are people who have done non-IT technical support of some sort. I've had people who did tech support for X-Box, iPhone, even someone who did tech support for fitness equipment. Lots of those jobs will take new hires with zero experience (I've managed teams doing that work too, and hired for those positions) but they build a strong base of transferable skills. Likewise, people who have taken advantage of internship opportunities to build real experience on top of education are much more likely to get hired. If you want to break into IT, my suggestion is that you not sweat much beyond the basics of certs (A+ is nice, Net+ isn't a bad one either) and instead focus your efforts on acquiring some form of work experience that gives you relevant transferable skills. If nothing else, see if you can find a local non-profit to volunteer for doing some form of technical work (or even customer service work... seriously.)

What is a good entry level job?

my suggestion is to find any type of job at a large company. These companies promote from within and you will see what is available to you once you are in. For example: If you are the receptionist and a good one, they may give you the opportunity to be a project assistant in the marketing department. From there, you can get promoted and move on up to the good jobs. 70% of people either get promoted from within or know someone to get a good job.
I started renting cars and now am a Human Resources Director.
A friend I know started in the mail room and is a Vice president at a large company. Another friend took a really low paying job at a pharmaceutical company to get into their ranks. All have absolutely awesome jobs a few years later. They will train you... you just need to prove yourself first. you can do it!

Are there any non-combat entry level military positions?

I have thought about joining the military after college to help out my country(U.S.A.). The only problem I have is that I don't know if I could take up arms against another person and shoot someone if necessary. So, my question is: are there any entry level positions in any military branch that could guarantee me not having to enlist in active combat?

How far in advance to submit job applications for entry level positions in admin or customer service when moving?

When you have some form of commitment that you will actually be moving - that is when you want to start submitting. A lease agreement would be great, or, having bought a house.

Most people who do hiring - have seen people send resume's, promise the moon, then don't show up or change their minds about moving. This is bad news, especially if they passed over people to accept you.

Me? It's only a few hours away. Write your resumes - take a day or two off - and hand drop them off at each location and be sure leave plenty of time to talk with the people you hand it to. You need people to notice you were there, you need to notice you were a nice person, and made a positive first impression. Be happy, be funny, be yourself! Soon as you walk out - write down the names of everyone you talked to. This way if a place you really would like to work did not contact you - you can send a follow up with a post it attached saying, "I stopped by on x/x/xx and talked to XXXXX. I would really like to be seriously considered for this position". The impression you will make is 'ok, he doesn't live here yet, but, is coming here now and then" and that is going to get some respect and consideration.
