How Can You Look Dehydrated

Where can I buy dehydrated water?"?

I used to work at a grocery store, and it was always a thing to trick the new workers by telling them to look for dehydrated water. Seriously, some people would be looking around the store for their whole 4 hour shift!

good times.

How do I know if I'm dehydrated?

The spit test: when you are dehydrated your saliva will be stringy. Lean over and spit. If your saliva forms a string three feet long you are very dehydrated. The urine test: low volume, deep yellow color. Drink 8 to 16 ounces of water for each of the next two hours. Your urine should be pale yellow in one to two hours. When dehydrated your mouth will feel uncomfortable, it will feel uncomfortable to blink your eyes and both will be drier than usual, the mucous in your nose will dry up, you will feel thirsty, and the next day your stool will be very hard.

What would a dehydrated human look/feel like?

There's a dehydrated human on display in Seattle's Ye Old Curiousity Shop. His name is Sylvester, and this is what he looks like. His real name has been lost to history. The body was found in 1865, by some cowboys in Arizona's Gila Bend Desert, and brought to the Shop in the 1950s. It was thought to be a case of natural dehydration, but in 2005, the body underwent CAT scans that revealed that Sylvester had also been pumped full of arsenic -- an early embalming fluid -- shortly after his death. How does he feel? You don't get to touch him, but I've seen him up close a million times. His skin is dark and leathery, and appears hard to the touch. Just what you might expect from dried-out skin on a pig or other hairless animal. But the fact that his teeth and soft tissue are more or less intact suggests that there is still some moisture left in his body; something the CAT scan also revealed. He still has a tongue and eyeballs, amazingly enough. In June, 2015, The History Channel Canada featured Sylvester on the premier episode of its show: Mummies Alive. I cannot view the clip from my location, but maybe you can. How do I know if my dog is dehydrated?

LethargyLoss of enthusiasm for walks or playtimeLoss of appetiteDry mouthPantingFrom Pet MD: “You may be able to detect dehydration at home by gently lifting the skin on the back of your dog’s neck or between the shoulder blades-unless your dog is seriously overweight or very thin, it should immediately return to a normal position. If he is lacking in fluids, the lifted skin may not quickly return to normal. Often, however, the signs of dehydration are not obvious, and only a veterinarian can provide proper diagnosis and treatment.”Dehydration is very serious. Always have fresh water readily available for her/him. If you suspect your dog is dehydrated, take her/him to the vet. They can administer subcutaneous fluids which will very quickly restore your dog’s hydration levels.

How do you know when ur hamster is dehydrated?

The signs of dehydration are listlessness, dull, sunken eyes, and loss of skin elasticity. Gather the loose skin behind the hamster's neck gently in your fingers and lift it away from the hamster's body. It should snap back quickly to shape when released. If not, the dehydration is already severe and the hamster is very uncomfortable and at great risk.

Dehydration kills hamsters quickly, and must be diagnosed and treated by a vet. Best always is prevention -- making sure the water bottle is cleaned and refilled with fresh water daily, hung at an appropriate height, and touching the tip several times a day (with very clean hands) to be sure it hasn't become clogged with food or malfunctioned in some way.

If you feel your hamster looks dehydrated, you can force feed him water with a syringe. You can also use Pedialyte solution mixed with water to feed your hamster through a syringe.Hold him gently and put the syringe in his mouth and press gently so that the water falls drop by drop into his mouth. Do not bother if the water drop comes out of his mouth, he will lick it himself as part of his automatic grooming.

If you feel your hamster is unable to drink from his bottle, leave a heavy dish of water in his cage to help himselves until he learns how to drink from the new bottle. Use a heavy based dish so that they do not tip it over and spoil the bedding.

My guess is that the hamster is a bit confused and still getting used to his new cage. This happens to hamsters when introduced to new environment since they are creatures of habit. I am sure he would figure out himselves how to use the bottle in a few days, until then leave a water dish in his cage and make sure that there is always a drop of water hanging from the tip of the hamster bottle so that your hamster gets attracted to it and learns to drink from the bottle.

How do i know if my mice are dehydrated?

As a mouse owner and breeder for about 2 1/2 years, I have experieced this problem a lot. Your mice will become listless and lifeless and will definitely not act like themselves. A way to tell if they are dehydrated is to gently pinch the skin on the back of the neck (upper back area) and if the skin goes back down immediately, you mouse is fine, but if it makes more than a second to go back into place, then your mouse is dehydrated. Obviousely, the longer it takes to fall down, the more dehydrated your mouse is. You might want to place a shallow dish of water (maybe 3/4 cm. full) into the cage every few hours so that you can watch to make sure they don't drown (plus the water will get really dirty). I would suggest always having a bottle of Karo syrup in your house. Strange that I say that, however if a mouse does go without food, water, etc. for more than two to three days, they will become too weak to survive on their own and considering Karo Syrup is corn syrup, it is loaded with sugar to give them enough energy to go on. I would suggest trying to get to your nearest pet store (petco has an amazing universal bottle) to get one so that this emergency situation does not happen.

Next time you buy a cage, I would recommend not getting one with all the tubes and perhaps a fish tank about the same size as your cage with lots of accessories for two reasons:

- Your mice will enjoy the fun houses and things like that, plus it's hard for most of them to climb the tubes (although you may not have that problem).
- It is EXTREMELY HARD to clean out the tubes as love to pee and poop in there (for some strange reason) and it is sooooo hard to get it clean!!!!!

Good luck with your three mice and I hope you love them as much as I do. I hope they will be okay and I hope that this helped you!!!!! :-D

DNA Ancestral Dog Food (Dehydrated)... ?

I just tried a bag of this food the other day. I like the idea, but I always rehydrate my foods before feeding it to the dogs. The bag says allow to rehydrate for 30 minutes, but it just looks slightly larger and still seems dehydrated. Anyone have suggestions on this?

How long does it take for a human to become dehydrated?

If you are hoping for an accurate answer you are going to be disappointed because how many general practitioners do you know who measure hydration regularly or in their practice. Yep, not one. This is a question that's looking for a diagnostic test that's simple and easy to use. At present accurate testing takes time and is rarely done, except for competitive athletes. Information on the population at large is missing. It would be so handy for elderly and very young patients…Inaccurately I would look at the fingertips of older people, if they remain flat after pinching, this person is dehydrated. In the very young dehydration is a lot more awkward to test, but if a small child is vomiting their hydration and electrolyte condition can be serious within hours. There is a lot more to say but it's late and my cell phone is running low.

What should I do for finding my dehydrated onion buyers?

Dehydrated onion being an unusual, almost unknown, product in India, you will have to do a LOT of marketing and brand building to make it reach consumers. I have quite successfully used dehydrated onions to make fried onions that one puts into Biryanis etc., as well as in gravies (blitzed in a mixie and then used like one would use grated onions). The taste was a bit different than fresh onions, but then if one has run out of onions at home, one need not run to the market. Definitely better than using onion powder. You have to be persistent in your marketing campaign till you find volume movement. That will require a large budget and guts of steelSince consumers don’t know the availability, uses and convenience of dehydrated onions, you will have to educate them first. This can be done by putting up a small stall - showing how it is used, and giving out samples of cooked items as well as sample packets - at large supermarkets, as well as wholesale markets such as Metro Cash & CarryOnions have a cyclic variation of prices in India. Don’t market when the prices are rock bottom, but do it when the prices reach peak levels (you need to do research for that). Otherwise the likely consumers will be not understand higher cost for the sake of convenienceDoor to door marketing is unlikely to get you any consumer acceptanceMake sure your packaging is excellent (no vapor ingress; moisture will reduce shelf life, and will also bring on avoidable odors), elegant, engaging and shows the dehydrated onions. People not used to it don’t know what it looksDon’t name your product like “Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Dehydrated Onions” - onions don’t go well with such names (saatwik food doesn’t use onions and garlic)Your buyers will not be consumers directly. Most likely buyers would be large supermarkets where there is a variety of products. These supermarkets are where the educated & economically better-off segment of consumers do their shopping - and are more likely to have been exposed to, and understand the need of, ‘convenience’ category of productsThere are a couple of companies that I have seen who have done test marketing with Metro Cash & Carry in Bangalore. A lot of packets were sold by this route, but not enough to say that they have established themselves. After the initial lot, one doesn’t find these replenished in the test marketing area (near the vegetable area), nor does one find them in the regular shelves.
