The file which you were downloading has been moved to some other folder or has been deleted. In such a case the torrent is not able to continue downloading the file as the file is missing from it's original folder, and hence you're getting the error.The solution is to move the file back to it's original folder, if it exists, or download the entire file again.

This seems to happen with .wmv files that are sent by email as attachments. I've tried some of the other suggestions, but these have not resolved the issue. It said it may have a virus and I should download the newest version of utorrent. What does that mean: Is it like "this torrent COULD have viruses because any torrent hypothetically could so to protect yourself" or was it "hey, this specific torrent may actually have viruses"

How do i open .DOWNLOAD files?
.DOWNLOAD is an extension for files in the process of downloading. When they're done, they should be renamed properly automatically. So for a partial download, it makes sense that parts would be missing. If you'd downloaded this, I would recommend re-opening the browser or whatever you used to download it and try to resume downloading. I don't know why a Word document made locally would end up like that. I don't suppose it's possible you got this mixed up with another similarly named file. Can you recover any of it? Have you tried opening it in something like wordpad or notepad (make a copy first)? You might be able to recover some of it at least. I googled: word document repair and got a few results. It doesn't look good but there might still be a chance. Good luck.
