How Come My Friends Apple Snail Has Surived In A Cold Water Tank For So Long

Has anyone played completed GTA San Andreas without using cheats?

Yes, and believe me, the satisfaction you get by completing GTA SA without cheats is unparalleled. Though the cheats are made by the developers themselves, yet it is always much more exciting to complete the game without cheats. I remember the hardships I faced because of this NO CHEAT policy. Whenever the cops would be behind me, instead of going to a pay-n-spray, I would quickly rush to my rest house and change my clothes ( if you didn't buy any and have no more money, you can always remove an item ) as that would suffice as well. Also, whenever my health would be alarmingly low, I preferred saving my game rather than spending 2 dollars on a food item. So these are the adversities you face if you go for a no cheat policy but trust me, you will always be proud of this accomplishment

What can I keep in a 3 gallon tank without a filter or heater?

Long story short my friend gave me her old tank. There are issues with the filter and I don't want to have to purchase a new one, plus a heater. I know minnows can live without a heater since they are cold water, but would still need a filter, right? I was thinking maybe some snails and/or ghost shrimps. I don't want to sound like I don't want to put anything into it, but it just needs to be something simple that I won't have to worry about all of that stuff.

Eating Snails?

Precautions have to be taken to kill the possible parasites that these snails can carry. Cook the snails thoroughly before consumption as this is a simple and effective way to eliminate the risk of infection. NEVER eat raw or poorly cooked snails!
Some basic tips to prepare the snails:
1. Put the snails in a tank without food for 2 days to make sure that the intestines are emptied (optional).
2. Boil the snails lightly or freeze them to kill the snails.
3. Remove the snails from their shell with a hook or tweezers.
4. Remove the body and intestines of the snails (only eat the foot). The internal organs don't taste well; especially the albumen (yolk) gland from the female snail has bad taste (the same bad taste as the eggs, a possible protection mechanism against predators).
5. Remove the operculum (shell door).

Dont eat unless your french lol

What snails will live well with my Koi?

I have a 55 gallon tank with 6 fish in it. 2 of the fish are 8 inch Koi and I wan wondering what snails, plants, and food I should use to provide optimum cleanliness, livelihood, and color of my fish.

How many goldfish can I put in a 17L tank?

Yikes, tanks under 30L really are a bit of a waste of time to be honest. And the smaller the tank the HARDER it is to care for anyway!

You are correct that that size tank is far far far far far far too small for Goldfish. Goldfish need more like a minimum of 60-70 litres each, or over 100 litres each for the common/comet/shubunkin types!

What is your price range? If you look second hand on sites like ebay (search with the distance set to your post/zip code!). I picked up a 70ish litre for a fraction of the price it would be new from ebay, and with a heap of equipment and fish (the majority of which were unsuitable and had to be rehomed...).

How many of your housemates are there? In a 17L-20L you could just about squeeze one single male Betta, but even he would really be happier in over 25-30 litres.

Remember that ALL tanks should be filtered, heated for tropicals, and you need to put it through the nitrogen cycle first. Fishkeeping can be quite complex to start!

Interesting stocking ideas for 5.5 gallon fish tank?

I would not keep the Danios or Minnows since 3 isn't a shoal and an active shoal needs more swimming space.

I can only think of:

- Dwarf Gourami
- 2 x Platies
- Red Cherry Shrimp (about 7-8, they will easily reproduce)
- Amano Shrimp (about 5)
- Apple Snail (1-2; if 2, same gender)

Edit: Dwarf Gouramis only grow to about 3" in size, as big as a Betta. They are also labyrinth fish like a Betta and are easy care. People often opt for Bettas because Bettas come with more personality.

Is a 10 gallon tank too big for one male betta? What kind of plants/heater/filter should I add?

He will be fine in a 10 gallon. For a filter try and get one that has adjustable flow so you can set it at a low setting. Any heater for a 10 gallon would work as long as you can adjust the temperature. For plants get either real or silk as the plastic ones can rip his fins. They usually like some kind of cave as well. Bettas like plants with big leaves so they can rest on and under them. I have a java fern in my tank. It works really well as I can put it right in my gravel. As far as friends he does not NEED any. Some people like the look of small schooling fish (non fin nippers) with their bettas but that is a personal choice on what you like. They also look neat with amano shrimp. They are bigger so the betta will leave them alone. Good job on getting a proper environment for you betta. :)

Did anyone ever do cruel or unusual experiments with animals as a child?

Who is not fascinated about butterflies? While most of us are, I was a step ahead of mere fascination.I was around seven back then. My dad loved gardening and we had this big garden in our house with roses, marigolds and other flowering plants. In winter, the garden attracted many colorful, beautiful, fluttering butterflies. Our garden was also a mating ground for these butterflies. Dad showed me the beauty of nature in our garden, from him I learnt about butterfly and the beautiful process of metamorphosis.I witnessed the entire life cycle of a butterfly. Saw them growing and turning into a beautiful creature. Wonderful it was.I saw their tiny eggs. The hogging larva, to a mysterious pupa. I witnessed them hour by hour transforming into an adult beautiful butterfly. And I also saw many of them aging and dying, loosing their antennae and fore-wing. It was saddening.Image source: Kids butterfly dot orgThe Experiment:My fascination to see them fluttering and flying led to this experiment. I started collecting dead butterflies, i started to preserve them in between the pages of my book, then whenever I saw any old injured, broken-wing butterfly inside the house, I chased it and tried to stick the wing of my preserved butterfly, after their operation I use to leave them on plant leaf, I never saw them flying, because I guess they never did or may be they did, but I never found them back at the same place.Later I was punished in a family gathering for catching hold of insects and butterflies and doing such experiments on them. I was asked ”how would I feel If I am mistreated like this” these insects don't like what you do to them, parents told me, I shuddered. I was extremely sad and guilty, I never did it again. My siblings and cousins always bullied me calling me cruel. Oh, no, I am not, I just wanted to help…Butterflies still fascinate me, below is an image from my recent captureit: The Plain Tiger Butterfly (Danaus chrysippus) No teeth, no claws, but very much a Tiger!
