How Come Only America Has Huge Debates Over The Legalisation Of Marijuana When Other Countries Such

Questions you would ask someone who wanted to legalize marijuana?

What would happen to the crime rate if it were legalized?

What would the number of users do if it were legalized... would it increase or decrease?

We know it's a harmful substance so why would one want to legalize such a harmful drug?

If it were legalized, then teens (for the most part) using the substance to rebel against parents, rules, laws, and whatever else, what would they do? Would they continue using marijuana or would they move on to another, more harmful substance?

How and why would this benefit society?

The only use for marijuana that's acceptable in society today (for medicinal purposes) is already available in many states/provinces with a prescription from a qualified doctor. What would the purpose of legalizing marijuana be?

If it were legalized, wouldn't it be easier to get ahold of and be easier for children to access and be harmed by?

Would you allow your own children (either now or several years down the road when you do have children) to use marijuana? If it's legalized they can purchase it on their own much easier. Just gives a person a little bit to think about.

Legalization of Marijuana an " all or nothing " concept?

I'm doing a Civcs debate on the legalization of marijuana; I am on the NO side, though I am a neutral in society but this is for the basis of my assignment (: this is what I have so far:

Opening Statement:

The American Heritage Dictionary, Fourth Edition defines Marijuana as: A preparation made from the dried flower clusters and leaves of the cannabis, usually smoked or eaten to induce euphoria.

Arguement:

Marijuana is the most common illegal drug used In North America. Though most drugs have legitimate medical purpose, many people use the “gateway” drug for recreational purposes. To get high; “high” as in feeling of Euphoria: feeling of well being, happiness.

Non- Medicinal and excessive use of any narcotic is referred to as drug abuse. This causes harmful effects to your body and major health risks. The legalization of Marijuana will result in more substance abuse in turn; promoting harmful effects and is an “all or nothing” concept where we in society .... ? ( That's all I have for now)

Feedbacl Please ? (:

Anything is greatly appreciated !

What are the pros and cons of cannabis legalization?

The only disadvantages will be for the pharmaceutical & alcohol industries. Pharmaceutical companies will crumble. The alcohol industry will shrink.“Purists” will become further incensed (as they did when alcohol prohibition was abolished).Advantages - when legalization happens, thsee are the amazing things we'll see-a massive reduction is opiate deaths & addictiona massive reduction in benzodiazepine deaths and addictiona drastic reduction in polypharma (individuals taking multiple medications)a reduction in the national obesity rates as cannabis balances metabolisma reduced burden on our national healthcare systema renewed passion for natural wellness and health promotionincreased kindness as a result of decreased national anxiety and depression levelsa multi-billion dollar influx into the economymillions of new jobsaffordable medication finally available for all#legalize-Jessie Gill, RN
