How Could Anyone Like Taylor Swift

Who is a big Taylor Swift fan?

Question, this Ariana Grande song sounds like a Taylor Swift song (I really think it does), but which Taylor Swift song?

Anyone know?

Do you like Taylor Swift now?

Yes, I never disliked her to be honest.

Why should anyone care what Taylor Swift has to say about politics?

Celebrity singer and songwriter Taylor Swift endorsed Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen in Tennessee. Why should anyone care what Taylor Swift has to say about politics?Oh, the hypocrisy behind this question is….pathetically obvious.Well, Harry Cardillo, didn’t you and other Republican voters elect a guy who has been known for being not only a celebrity himself but is also supported by a number of celebrities who vote for GOP candidates/conservative issues? Before he ran for President in the 2016 election, Donald J. Trump was a celebrity who loved publicity so much that he used to make phone calls to the media and pretended he was one of his own publicists. And there are many celebrities who publicly sing their praise for Trump:Jon VoightRoseanne BarrScott BaioTed NugentGene SimmonsJohn RatzenbergerStacey DashDean CainJames WoodsKanye WestRobert DaviBob KnightThere’s definitely more than 12, but I don’t have the time or inclination to seek out more Trump-supporting celebrities. Now, if Taylor Swift endorsed Phil Bredesen’s opponent…or any Republican candidate anywhere, you’d probably be saying. “Taylor Swift is someone whose opinions should be heard. I think she’s awesome!”But because she’s not endorsing a Republican candidate, you’re asking. “ Why should anyone care what Taylor Swift has to say about politics?”Personally, when I vote for anyone, celebrity endorsements don’t have much sway with me. I’m old/smart/wise enough to make my own political decisions; if someone like Meryl Streep or Taylor Swift is on the same wavelength as I on issues and candidates, great. But I don’t vote against Donald Trump or his Republican enablers because they say so. I vote the way I do (and express my disgust for what the GOP has become) because I can see what goes on around me and act/think/express myself accordingly.Another thing: Being an artist/actor/writer/musician (or any type of entertainer, for that matter) does not take away one’s rights to either vote or speak out in favor of candidates. If you are a citizen of the U.S., reside in the state/county/city listed on your voter registration card, and have a functioning brain, you (a) have a right to endorse whoever you want and vote for the candidate of your choice, and (b) you can endorse whoever you want to. Celebrity status does not take anyone’s suffrage rights away.

Why do people like Taylor Swift?

All she ever talks about is relationships, boyfriends, romance, and etc. It's so annoying. Her newer songs sound terrible, and I can't believe that anyone could like her music. Am I the only one that thinks that she's shouldnt be in the music industry?

Can anyone become a popular singer like Taylor Swift?

No. While Taylor Swift is a very talented singer, performer and songwriter, the level of success that she has achieved is only accessible through blind dumb luck. There are literally thousands of Taylor Swift's out there. Maybe a hundred thousand.  Many are better singers, songwriters and performers then she is. Most of these people do well for themselves. But to reach a level of stardom that she has, you need a huge team of people marketing, managing, and developing you and the luck comes in when an artist is selected for that kind of treatment and is fortunate enough to score a hit right out of the gate. Then that marketing has to "click" with the public at large and there is only room at the top for so many Taylor Swift's. I personally like Taylor Swift as a personality precisely because she herself understands that her popularity is a separate and distinct thing from the music she performs. One can see this in the way she features guest artists on her tours, the way she supports and encourages other acts who cover her music, and the fairly level headed way she approaches the "business" of being Taylor Swift (contrasted with performers like Justin Bieber). She does not take her popularity for granted and she understands it needs to be nurtured and cultivated if it is to continue. Taylor Swift also had many advantages along the way. In addition to being an unusually focused and disciplined young girl, she had parents who were were secure enough financially to move her from Pennsylvania to Nashville in order to get her start at the age of 14. She is also blessed with unusually good looks, something that contributes to her appeal and allowed her to get exposure through modeling at a young age. She was also lucky to come to the attention of Nashville record executive who needed fresh new artist to get his fledgling label off the ground. The bottom line is that Taylor Swift is an unusually talented young woman and would have been a success in anything she did and the fact that she is hardworking, disciplined, and knows clearly what she wants. However the level of success she has achieved is not something anyone can manufacture.  It's literally a bolt of lightning from the fates.

Does anyone else see the irony in Taylor Swifts song "Love Story"?

It talks about through the whole song how there is such a good love story brewing or whatever between two people, and she is comparing herself and the person she is singing about to Romeo and Juliet. Last time I checked, Romeo and Juliet was not a good love story at all-- it's a flippin' tragedy! I mean it's funny how she is comparing this love to another relationship that skipped from love at first sight to marriage to suicide and a lot of death in a matter of a couple of days if that. Anyone else find this amusingly ironic? Comments?

Does anyone else think that the video for Taylor Swift's "Love Story" is a total rip off?

I don't understand how you think that the video is a rip-off...
She specifically stated that she wanted to the video to resemble a 'Pride and Prejudice" type theme
And the song isn't about Romeo and Juliet, it's just about a love that prevails through all obstacles.
She just wanted to put it in an 18th century setting and Pride and Prejudice is one of those beautiful settings.
What does it matter whether her video looks like the movie or whether or not she mentioned P&P in her song
I think you're looking wayyyy too much into it.
In my humble opinion, it's one of the best videos I've ever seen.
