"Good" as in an enjoyable read, something you read because you want to read it, not because you want people to think you're clever.Any of Jane Austen's six major novels (Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion). Just the job for a cosy afternoon by the fire with a nice cup of tea and some cake. The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien (in case you didn't know). World building at its finest and a damn good quest story. The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. The adventures of the adorable Mole, Ratty, Toad and Badger.Tom Jones by Henry Fielding. An excellent 18th century romp.Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. This is a personal choice - I find it beautifully, evocatively written and I weep for poor Tess every time I read it.Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Clean, sharp writing, fabulous characters. Poor Lennie.Lord of the Flies by William Golding. A totally horrible imagining of what would happen if you left a bunch of boys to rule themselves. So ghastly you can't put it down and poor Piggie will stay with you long after you've finished the book."Bad" as in I found them impossible to plough through till the end. I'd like to stress this is entirely subjective and you're welcome to disagree, clearly many critics throughout time do.The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. It's not that Holden's an asshole (he is though). It's more the narrative voice, I found the style just grated on me until it became unbearable, plus I really didn't give a crap what happened.Dracula by Bram Stoker. Ok, I did actually finish this but it was a bit rubbish really. Nice concept, poor execution.Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Yawn.A Passage to India by EM Forster. Yawn. Yawn. Yawn. The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner. Just too many damn words, "Kill your darlings" is obviously not a concept Faulkner embraced. So it might be alright if you can wade through the morass of words. Personally, I prefer my literature rather more concise. Then there's plenty of books that I liked but didn't love, Charles Dickens, George Orwell, Ernest Hemingway, Joseph Conrad, Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Gunter Grass, Franz Kafka, George Eliot…And then there's Shakespeare. But you don't read Shakespeare, you watch. And it can be an incredible, magical experience to see Shakespeare played well.

What are some good forbidden romance vampire books like Vampire Academy?

I own the Vampire Academy Series and the new book Bloodlines, and I love those books too! I love books with vampires and romance, but I'm very picky! Some of the other series I have that I think you should check out are:

Vampire Diaries: by L.J. Smith (WAY better than the hit series that plays on TV!)
Thirst: by Christopher Pike
The Immortal Series: by Alyson Noel
Vampire Kisses: by Ellen Shreiber
The Morganville Vampires: By Rachel Caine

These series are amazing! I hope I helped! Enjoy!
