It is in the display settings. Certain resolutions are designed for wide screen monitors and others are designed for full screen or standard monitors. You just have to find the ones that are for wide screen. Wide Screens have a different aspect ration as they are the same as standard screens as far as height, but different as far as length. Kinda like taking an 8x10 picture and stretching it to 8x12 instead. Makes the picture look distorted. To solve this, you just have to use a screen resolution that is proper for wide screen. If the drivers are in place, then the proper settings should be available in the Display settings. As far as things looking too small, you can always change the DPI setting in the advanced section of your display settings to make words appear larger and thus easier to read. To get to that, open the display properties window, click the settings tab, click the Advanced button, and in the General tab, change the DPI setting from normal to large size. Often 96 DPI to 120 DPI. Hope this helps.
