What exactly is Lent and is it mandatory for all types of Christians to complete?

Lent is a period of fasting and repentance traditionally observed by Catholics and some Protestant denominations in preparation for Easter. The length of the Lenten fast was established in the 4th century as 40 days. During this time, participants eat sparingly or simply give up a particular food or habit. Ash Wednesday and Lent began as a way for Catholics to remind themselves to repent of their sins in a manner similar to how people in the Old Testament repented in sackcloth, ashes, and fasting (Esther 4:1-3; Jeremiah 6:26; Daniel 9:3; Matthew 11:21).
The purpose of Lent is to provide that purification by weaning people from sin and selfishness through self-denial and prayer, by creating in them the desire to do God’s will and to make His kingdom come by making it come first of all in their hearts.”
God bless you.

What percentage of Christians keep the Sabbath Day as written in Exodus 20:8-11?

Original question: What percentage of Christians keep the Sabbath Day as written in Exodus 20:8-11?I don’t have the numbers. I don’t even know if there is a statistics on Sabbath-keeping Christians in the world. However, there are a total of 563 Christian churches around the world belonging to different Christian denominations that observe the Day of Rest. (Read: Sabbath Keeping Churches - Sabbath Keeping Denominations) Two of these Christian denominations include Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA) who are Protestants that observe Sabbath and Messianic Jews who combines Christian and Jewish faiths and traditions.Seventh-Day Adventist Church has a membership of more than 20 million (Read: Propelled by Total Member Involvement, Adventist Church tops 20 million members), while Messianic Judaism has a following of 350,000 worldwide (Read: Kosher Jesus: Messianic Jews in the Holy Land). If only somebody could research the total membership of all 563 Christian churches in relation to the total number of Christians around the world, a person would be able to approximate the percentage of Christians who keep the Sabbath.

Question about Druze celebration?

First of all, I'm sorry to post this irrelevant question in the Ramadan section, but I posted it in the religion and spirituality, but no one answered because no one knows. The question is the following: Is it true that the Druze sect have a particular holiday once a year in which they turn off all the lights at night and all of the family and friends that belong to the Druze sect have sex randomly with the closest person at hand?

Thank you, and please don't answer if you do not know, and please, no criticism.

Thank you again.

Why should Christians keep the Saturday holy?

Jews begin Shabat at sundown Friday, and it lasts until sundown Saturday, as it is part of the mitzvot given to Moses in the Torah. To this day, the Shabat is still a required observance for an observant Jew. Many don't observe, but it has not been revoked.Christians have always celebrated the first day of the week as the Lord’s Day because He was resurrected on the third day of Passover, which was a Sunday. Early Jewish Christistians therefore observed both holy days, and all Jewish holidays, but gentile churches generally did not. The first Church Council in Jerusalem addressed whether gentiles should be required to keep the mitzvot or not. The decision recorded in Acts is that the gentile churches would not be required to keep the mitzvot or observe the holidays. However, they were asked to not offend the Jewish churches in their observances. If you are a Texan living in Texas, you are not subject to the laws of Colorado. If you move to Colorado, you keep the laws of Colorado. So, the question of which laws you keep depend on if you are living under the whole 613 Jewish laws (Jewish Christians often observe the mitzvot, though some do not) or are you a gentile and living under the rules for gentiles Christians?
