How Do Convince My Parents To Get Me Gta V After They Were Set On Not Getting Me It

How to convince my parents to get me GTA 5?

To start off, i am 13 years of age and i AM mature enough for this game. I understand the contents of the game and i have read reviews from parenting sites. I have watched gameplay so dont try to get around me and say untrue stuff about this game. I understand that excessive use of the words Homie and N-gga are used in the "hood" of this game and that F-ck and Sh-t are used more than frequently in the game than expected. I was born to intelligent parents that know about GTA than usual. The thing is, i live in a ghetto, where you hear unimaginable language come out of a SIXTH GRADERS MOUTH! Im planning a powerpoint presentation in the form of a slideshow that i am mature enough as a soon to be Freshman or 9th grader. My mom is the only big deal. whenever my dad walks in on me doing violent gameplay, if my siblings are there he says "Isnt this game a little too rough for you?"
and he just always manages to have the controller in his grip within five minutes of seeing me play. After that, he explains on how we should do this more often. My mother is the problem. She doesnt like guns, knives, or explosives. I DONT NEED ANY WAIT UNTIL YOURE OF AGE COMMENTS JUST DONT COMMENT. what should i do?

How can I convince my parents (Mainly my mom) to let me play Grand Theft Auto IV (4)?

Don't get annoyed at your parents- the game is EXTREMELY bad. Killing police, civilians, shooting up people who you don't like in-game, etc. It's gangsters gone video game. It's pretty messed up. That said, there are worse movies out there so...

Ok, the strippers and hookers you DECIDE whether or not to pick up. Same with killing police and civilians... for the most part. It encourages you to take cars and run (Grand Theft Auto, duh), which is a very bad lesson. However, if you aren't impressionable, use that as an excuse; if you're mature, you won't get anything bad from the game. Use that to your advantage- you may be underage, but if they taught you right, you won't be too effected by it. Promise to not pick up hookers on the side of the street, jack cars in mid-drive, or go to the strip bar and you should be fine.

On the other hand, if you are impressionable, I'd suggest be very wary. It over-glorifies gangster life, and features every single messed up thing you can imagine- gunning down police, blowing up trucks full of gas, killing civilians for cash, drinking while driving, hookers, going to a strip club to screw them, etc. These elements HAVE been accredited towards making crime as is- people have died because young, naive teens played the game and became desensitized to the thought of crime and punishment.

So, use your age or maturity/responsibility to convince them that you can handle it unless they won't work, in which case I have little advice for you. Also remind them that World of Warcraft features drinking, violence, suggestive themes, crude/crass humor, blood and gore, and mild language- not as bad as GTA is, but that'll help point out that ratings only show the most negative points of a game.

How to convince my parents to let me buy an HDTV?

Well you will find a better price on tiger direct or another online retailer, however i don't think you are going to hit your price point AND be able to get the size you want. I have a 46" samsung 6th generation 1080p lcd which i bought before the price drop/ economic melt down and i paid $1700 for it (i know, the same tv is half that now but still 1/2 that is greater that $375.)

Quick search on walmart's website and a full 1080p 32 is going to run you $500.

Convincing your parents sounds like it is going to be harder than getting the money, and not to sound unhelpful, but I don't know what "Pros" you could tell them. I mean not to sound like a parent myself (which i'm not) but the way they probably look at it is:
Video games are a waste of time
you should probably be worrying about/preparing for college
you could buy a bike or something and spend more time outside (being an avid gamer myself, i have to say, i do have a pretty kick *** bike and i love being outside).

I think in the end their logic is not going to match yours. That said my tv (which was financed and i just paid off after two years) was bought just for gaming (more or less). Of course i made the decision myself, but i could very well see anyone (including my own inner monologue) telling me it wasn't the "best" use of $1700 (of course over the last two years i have probably used it enough where the cost of ownership has been under $1 an hour)

I would almost suggest getting your own bank account and just doing what you want with your money. But at the same time i don't want to start in-fighting or squabbles in your family.

I know i didn't answer the question, but i hope i gave you stuff to think about that may help you in solving this problem.

How can I convince my parents to let me play video games during weekdays?

Look, I can tell by this question that you are a teenager. If you don’t know what to do by now, then you are probably socially inept. Then again, you’re on Quora.Back to the point. If they don’t let you play, do what any teen would do.Make friends and play at their house. If their parents don’t allow them, then you guys have a problem. There’s only one thing that you can do. It consists of the following steps.Make lots and lots of friendsStart a cult. (Don’t go anywhere! It gets better)Create a ring with some smooth, flat stones, and start a fire in the middle of it.Buy a devil-doll (you know what I’m talking about. I’m not gonna waste my time looking for a picture of a stupid devil-doll)Hold hands and sing the Ancient Praises of the Holy Satan around the Ring of Stones.Perform Satanic rituals.Join ScientologyDonate $1,000,000 to the cause.Make sure your parents find out, after all of this. And that, my friend, is how you get your parents to allow you to play video games.

How to convince your parents to let you play online multiplayer in COD/Halo?

I bought COD Black Ops 2 hardened edition with my own money, and now I can't even play it because my mother thinks that if I play online matches with random people,(like 1,000,000 other average people) I will attract a predator or get tracked. My mother is very paranoid. I am 14 and very mature for my age, with good grades and a good future going for me. So why in the hell can I not play multiplayer if its not even that bad?(ecspecially because I don't talk to anyone that I don't know when I play, but play with random people of course)

How can I convince my parents to let me have fortnite?

First off, you shoot people in a cartoony game, with a cartoony weapon, everybody is wearing ridiculous outfits.Secondly there is no blood.Thirdly if your parent(s) thinks that you will be affected by unmoderated voice chat, you can mute them, or change your settings on xbox, if that is what you play on.Fourth, nobody dies. This answer has a bit of a backstory. In fortnite there are two game modes: fortnite save the world and fortnite battle royale, I am presuming that fortnite battle royale is the one that you wish to play. In save the world you start in a lobby, when you press play you are taken to the map where you will build a base around a storm shield and defend it from husks, zombie like creatures created by the storm, in this game mode when you leave the game you are teleported to the lobby by a floating robot. In fortnite battle royale you are placed on a map in which there are 100 players, you included, you fight until there is only one player left. When you eliminate an opponent it says in red at the bottom of the screen “you eliminated …….” and then they fall over and are teleported back to the lobby, if you are eliminated you fall over and are teleported back to the lobby.Lastly if you parents are worried about cost, battle royale is free to play on ios, mac, xbox one, ps4, windows and linux. However there is an ingame currency called v-bucks that cost 8 gbp at the minimum.Hope this helped, please show this to your parents, this was written by a thirteen year old boy, who plays 1-3 hours of fortnite a day.

How do I convince my parents to let me see a psychologist?

If you are still in high school or in college, the school may have a nurse and/or a counselor. If you have access to either of these, talk to them. If you are in the United States, at 18 they can’t tell your parents anything. If your parents have insurance on you it may cover mental health visits and you do not need their permission to go. If you are working, your employer may have an EAP plan that provides several sessions free of charge.Your parents reluctance to get you the help you need may come from ignorance or it may come from financial reasons. Either way, your need for help outweighs their reluctance. You have the more important problem and your need deserves attention, now.In the United States, 30% of mental health services are provided by primary care doctors. Talk to your regular doctor. If your parents’ employer has an EAP (employee assistance plan) you can call them for help.Learning to understand and regulate your emotions would also help. I wrote a long post about that here: Jeanine Joy's answer to Could you teach a child the wrong emotions? If things get really bad where you are thinking about harming yourself, you can go to the ER department of a local hospital. All you have to do is tell them you are seriously thinking about harming yourself and they have to help you. If you can’t get there you can call an ambulance. If you are in the United States you may also be able to call the police department and ask for a Crisis Intervention Officer (CIT Officer). They can arrange transportation for you.Showing your parents the risk factors and warning signs for suicide may spur them to action. Most parents who loose a child to suicide were in complete denial before it happened. Don’t threaten it. Just let them know the risks. All parents should be educated about risk factors and warning signs but even when training is offered for free most won’t show up. It’s a lot like buying life insurance, they just don’t want to even think about it.You do not need your parents in order to get treatment. If you do not have insurance, as an 18-year old you may be eligible for insurance on your own and possibly even Medicaid (I would have to know more about your situation, it’s just a possibility.)It is really good that you want help. The first step to getting help is wanting help and many never make it that far.Let us know how things turn out.

My parents wont let me play shooting games?

Although it is not really a big deal, my parents will not let me play games that involve guns in any way (or an M game for that matter). But here's the catch, I am 18.Yes I have better things to do than play video games all day but seriously...why do my parents do this? I am past the rating system....

How to convince parents to let me play world of warcraft?

May I make a suggestion. Tend to your spelling and when you can bring home papers that are spelled correctly, you may ask your parents again about letting you play WoW. My husband and I both play, and we are both Catholic, and we find it a fun game ... he plays alone and 'mentors' many kids (he's 50 and mature and is a good mentor) and he also plays in a 'party' with me. I have PTSD partly due to my past career (psychologist) and I find that I can actually stand more of the stuff that used to set my PTSD off since I've started playing, and sometimes only a few minutes is enough and I can get back on and play again. There are 'bad things' to WoW, but there are as many or more 'good things' ... and if your parents set the 'standards' in the interface, so you must limit the amount of time you play, and who you can party with, you should be fine. BUT PLEASE LEARN TO SPELL BETTER first ... and I seriously doubt that you have had sex with 20 girls or even one girl, since you would have known how to write it if you had. You are a child, and your parents are there to protect you, so I suggest you tend to your spelling, and act more mature, and maybe they will let you play WoW someday soon.
