Why doesn't biblegateway.com have the New World Translation?
Well, I found all of the answers disappointing....both those from anti-NWTers, and those of the Jehovah's Witnesses.... The reason, of course, is that it is copyrighted, and biblegateway probably has not received permission to include it on their site. Additionally, such bibles must be delivered in electronic form. Interestingly, the NWT *is* available in certain bible software packages (such as Logos). I suspect, because they charge for inclusion, that the Jehovah's Witnesses receive a portion of the proceeds, a "cut: of the "take". Unfortunately, they also do not have many other bibles on biblegateway, such as the excellent New Jerusalem Bible. This one I understand (that is, I understand why biblegateway has not earned permission to use it), as their format does not allow for the inclusion of the entire New Jerusalem Bible. It is now available here http://www.catholic.org/bible/ I tried to obtain permission to post the New Jerusalem Bible Regular Edition on my own web site, but was ignored. It is unfortunate, as this is a truly excellent study bible. SO, the reason that biblegateway does not include many bible versions, including some of the best currently available, is that they have not received permission to do so.
