If the crime is a misdemeanor or infraction I would recommend you just turn yourself in at a time that is best for you. You would be surprised to know that in some jurisdictions you will not even be booked into jail on some non-violent misdemeanor or infraction warrants. Instead of being booked they might just issue you a new court date to take care of it.The reason I previously stated that your should turn yourself in at a time that is best for you is because with a little pre-planning you can avoid a lot of stress on yourself and others. If you think you might actually spend a few days in jail then take some vacations days at work and turn yourself on Sunday or early in the week, so you can make your court appearance and get the ball rolling. There is nothing worse than getting arrested on a Thursday or Friday and missing work, spending the weekend in jail, and then going to court on Monday or Tuesday. Not to mention if you get arrested during a car stop and you incur the added expense of getting your car impounded. Or even worse, you get stopped with your kids in the car and there is no one to pick them up, so they go to the children’s shelter. You can see outside without touching them and they cant see in. 7) Only someone you trust to relay info do you tell your address. 8) Always wear running shoes whever possible. You never know when they can pop up on you so get every edge you can. 9) Work off the books. Ss# is the easy way police can find you. 10) If you and a cop lock eyes don't look away. Walk directly to him and ask for the time. A cop will never question you if you initiate the conversation. Why a cop wont confront? Simple , police when on duty naturally don't want to associate on the conversation level with civilians. Asking the time puts him on defensive immediately. 11) Avoid any conflicts. I turned myself in to the judge who sentenced me. He heard out, called the PO to get to court. I explained that 3 yrs I stayed out of trouble went to church and was employed . Warrants have not statue of limitations, which means they can pick you up any time at any State. They are not going to came out after you, but as soon as you ID gets run through a National Data base, you will be arrested and sent to the State in which the warrant was issue. So don't get pull over, If you try to leave the country, your name will come out on the computer and you will be detained. You need a passport to leave the country and your passport will be flagged for outstanding warrants. Educational speaking.!!! wink wink
I found a loophole for avoiding a drunk driving arrest?
I was speaking to my friend earlier and he came up with a situation that might be a loophole of getting a DUI. This is a hypothetical situation and just so you know I do not condone drunk driving. Say you have had a few drinks and know that you will blow over the legal limit of 0.08 and all of a sudden you see the cop lights come on behind you signaling you to pull over. You immediately pull over and stop the vehicle and throw the keys out of the car. Next you have an UNOPENED pint or fifth of liquor which you hold out the window to show the officer’s dash cam. (Preferably a dark liquor with an aluminum foil seal making it easier for the camera to see that the bottle was unopened). You then break the seal and chug a significant portion of the bottle before the officer comes up to your car, which would mess up the BAC’s reading. You then smash the glass container on the cement destroying the ability for the officer to figure out exactly how much you have had to drink. You might get shot in the process of holding the bottle out of the window, and/or most likely piss the cop off to the point where you will be eating cement. You will end up getting citations for littering, open intoxicants, and public intoxication, but all of these charges are still going to end up costing you less than what a DUI would. Also you would not get obstruction of justice as it is not illegal to transport an unopened container. The best bet would be to not drink and drive, but I do think one might actually be able to get out of a DUI in this situation assuming you don’t get shot in the processes.
