How Do I Become A Writer For A Comedic Television Series/animated Series

I want to become a comic book writer?

Dude It's like we're twins. I posted an answer about 42 seconds after you posted it last night but for some reason it didn't post. Anyways I am also 13 and am trying to create my own comic/manga myself. I coroner am studying to improve my illistrations as I am quite the drawer myself. As for your questions. Yes you can write a story and get a partnership with an illustration expert as most good things were invented in pairs. A lot of comics are formed my 2 or more people. The story line, and the illustrators. As for watching bakuman no a comic is not like that. First off bakugan is an anime which would be called a manga in comic form. If writing a comic was like writing a tv show it would take forever to put frame by frame in a book. but you could separate the frames into different scenes. so in some ways it is like bakuman, just on paper.  When it comes to books you can draw any form of art you want. The key is getting it to become appealing to the viewers. As for programs I suppose you could use manga studio products or photoshop to tune up. Any picture editing program will do. Even microsoft paint will do. It all depends on how well you practice.

How does everything work:
Well let me say this can at some times be share. But not incredibly hard. You can write a whole book in one day. The problem with this is you want to make a book interesting. Take the book you wrote in 1 day. It would be better to take another 2 months to tune up the storyline and make the story plot better. After you have your story it's best to send it to an editor for proper grammar. While this is happening its best to send a rough copy with pictures to a publishing company to get someone interested in publishing and managing your book.

Hope my answers help. Maybe one day we can work along side each other.

How do you become a comedy writer for a show like SNL or Conan?

SNL has traditionally hired from three main sources:  the staff of the Harvard Lampoon, the Second City improv company (which has branches in Chicago and Toronto) and the Groundlings troupe in Los Angeles. In the last 10 or so years, some of the NYC improv troupes (e.g. the ones affiliated with the Upright Citizens Brigade theater),have also become alternatives to Second City (they're trained in the same style of improv).  There's at least one case of YouTube comedians getting noticed by SNL -- that's how Andy Samberg and his Lonely Island friends joined the show. For late night shows, most of them accept submissions from the public on spec, but you're more likely to be noticed if someone knows you from work you've done for another show, in improv, or as a standup comic.Good luck!

How does one become a WWE writer?

2 ways:

1. wwe.com, then go to the corporate tab. This takes you to the non-theatrical workings of the WWE. From here, you can get info on where to send a resume, basic info on necessary qualifications, etc

2. Become Vince's daughter (it worked for Stephanie)

Best of luck!

What serious movie/TV series would make a good comedy?

Thanks for asking me to answer. It’s actually a less complicated question than it seems.Virtually any good dramatic work is a great first draft for a comedy. In fact, the great teacher, mentor, actor, war hero and helluva comedy writer, Bill Idelson, would tell you the best way to write a comedy is to write the drama first, then layer in the humor. That advice works for pretty much every comedy, from set up, set up joke sitcoms to Talladega Nights and Some Like It Hot. Why? Because the same conflicts that power drama, power comedy. Take the drama out of comedy and all you have left are jokes—think Henny Youngman—and that gets pretty boring after a reel or two. But, you asked for an example of a serious work that would make a good comedy. Most series and movies are good fodder for parody. The first Scream was a great parody of stock horror movies, and it inspired Scary Movie 1 through what, 2 million? The best example of something serious that became a comedy that I can think of is Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove. Strangelove started as an option of the deadly-serious novel Red Alert (novel) - Wikipedia. As Kubrick worked on the screenplay, it became impossible (for him at least) to keep it dramatic:“My idea of doing it as a nightmare comedy came in the early weeks of working on the screenplay. I found that in trying to put meat on the bones and to imagine the scenes fully, one had to keep leaving out of it things which were either absurd or paradoxical, in order to keep it from being funny; and these things seemed to be close to the heart of the scenes in question.” - Stanley Kubrick (from wikipedia: Dr. Strangelove - Wikipedia )Interestingly, a contemporary doppelganger of book, Fail Safe was made into a dramatic film by Syndey Lumet and released the same year (by the same studio) as Dr. Strangelove. (See: Fail Safe (1964 film) - Wikipedia)If you want to dig into the ways comedy and drama can hinge on exactly the same scenario, actions and ideas—watch those two films.Which form packs more power, I’ll leave up to you :-)

Why do you think the W.I.T.C.H comic book/series didn’t become a world wide success?

(I’m copying the following text from a reply to another Quora user - it seems that it can double as a answer to the main question.)Regarding why W.I.T.C.H. wasn’t as popular as Winx Club and other similar shows, I can think of the following reasons:The characters’ design isn’t as flashy and instantly recognizable as much as that of shows like Winx Club or Sailor Moon.It may be good for a comic, but I think that a TV show (generally aimed at a younger audience) needs to be more colorful.Even fans of the comic said at the time that the (show) characters’ design was rather dull, and that it didn’t resemble at all the comic’s.Winx Club was a sort of Western take on the “Girls Team with Magical Powers” genre introduced to the non-Japanese audience by Sailor Moon, so it had a head start. While Winx Club was born as a TV show (with the related merchandising) after the success of the W.I.T.C.H. comic, the W.I.T.C.H. show entered production long after the comic passed its peak popularity (at least to my memory). The place was already taken, so to speak.

How many writers does a TV drama or comedy need? How do they come together to work on the same show?

Yes, they do come together and work around a table (usually referred to as the writers room) The average TV-Show will usually have one Showrunner, and about 9 episode writers. The showrunner will gather the 9 episode writers (or so) and present them with a basic outline of the whole season and detailed character bio’s.They, then collaborate on fleshing out a detailed treatment or synopsis of each episode. After they are done, each writer then goes home and writes out the script for their episode. The reason for all this is because it allows them to produce a whole season worth of scripts in the time that it would take one writer to write an episode. In this way, they can produce approximately 9 full episodes ( the scripts, that is) in about 3 weeks.

How do an non-writer write a TV Series concept note to pitch for a comedy series?

A lot of discipline. If you're not a writer you'd have to get training and become one else you won't get anywhere in the industry. Why do you want to do it? Is it because you're passionate about it or do you just want fame? Cause if its just for fame then forget it. Choose another career
