How Do I Bleach Top Part Of Hair

How to bleach the top half of my hair?

Go to amberkatlynbeales (sp) channel on youtube. She's died her hair like that before and has a tutorial on it. Its called overlayer dying. Its easier than you're making it out to be.
EDIT- You have brown hair right? So when you bleach it, use a toner so it won't turn out yellow. And make sure to deep condition so your hair may restore its health. A bleach I suggest is called L'Oreal Quick-Blue Powder Bleach, and use a 20 or 30 volume developer depending on the current health of your hair. Separate your hair into 2 sections (The section you want turquoise and the section your want black), and then apply the bleach evenly to the turquoise section. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, and do a strand check to see if the bleach lifted your hair enough. Then dye it turquoise. Dying the underlayer black is not as complicated.

Can you bleach dyed hair? If so, how?

Absolutely you can! It just takes a little more caution than bleaching virgin hair.I recently bleached my hair from bright red to very light blonde, and it turned out just fine. It kinda depends on what colour your hair was dyed (for example black and dark browns are harder to get out,) but here’s a general overview:I went to Sally Beauty Supply and purchased Prismlites Blue toned Bleach, 30 volume developer (creme, not liquid [personal preference]) and a shiny new tint brush. (But I’m no professional. Use caution and commonsense…I ain’t liable for your hair.)Since I was doing more of a balayage-highlighting technique, I didn’t get within a couple inches of my roots, so that was one less thing to worry about.I sectioned my hair carefully, and as soon as I began applying the bleach I worked quickly to pull it through evenly (in the places i wanted). I started timing immediately and actually stopped halfway through bleaching to rinse the bottom section, so it wouldn’t overprocess.Once your hair is a pale yellow at the lightest, (mine had a teeny bit of orange in places,) you MUST wash the bleach out or face all the hair catastrophes I’m sure you’ve heard about. If your hair was really dark, you might want to stop while still orange (or once the time suggestion on the bleach is up,) because it’s better to go back later and re-bleach then to fry it trying to go super light in one day. After that, shampoo, tone if you want, or wait and dye it. Good luck!Oh, and don’t freak out when it’s still wet. My hair looked bright yellow-orange when I was fresh out of the shower, but once it dried it looked much blonder and better. First appearances can be deceiving!

Does bleach hair go away?

Bleaching is permanent, but your hair will grow out and you can cut off the bleached part when you want to. You can dye it back to your natural color or any other color. Each of these processes will damage your hair so good conditioners should be used to minimize the damage.

Can you bleach your hair with household bleach?

While there are a lot of experts giving you excellent advice here, they don’t have the experience I have. Because when I was about 15, I DID try to bleach my hair with household bleach. It was 1980, I don’t know what your excuse is. But that’s mine. A couple of friends and I decided we wanted to have bleached hair. We didn’t have the cash for actual hair products, so we went for the household bleach. As naive as it might sound, we weren’t actually stupid. While you can now ask Quora, we only had basic chemistry to fall back on.We knew that getting bleach on your skin was a massive no-no. I had longer hair, so opted for a dip method, with a hose ready to drench me if there was a mishap or chemical burns. My even more reckless friend tried brushing his hair forward and pouring the bleach directly on the top. Again, with buckets of water ready to quickly dilute any disaster. The resultsWell, for all out daring mischief, risking lifelong disfigurement from chemical burns…if we went out in the sunlight you could just about make out a slightly lighter tone. It was a massive waste of time, and bleach.I had more luck lightening my hair with lemon juice and sunlight, if a little yellow. Which is perhaps not as effective as the Roman method of pigeon poo and piss, but a lot easier to manage.

Hair bleach turned my hair pink. What do I do?

Most likely the pink you got is the undertones left behind from the gray. Once you bleached your hair the pigment found its way to the surface of your hair. This is a good thing, believe it or not. It means you're that much closer to getting rid of it. You’ll need to lift it out more of course, otherwise the pink could hinder the gray or any other color you may decide on using. You could try using a color removed from the beauty supply as well. Or if the pink is light enough, you could do a bleach wash on your hair. This way you could watch the hair and make sure you don't overdo it and break your hair.

Best way to bleach LONG hair at home?

I've got two manic panic 30 vol bleach kits that are coming in the post (when they come of course) going to bleach my thick head of hair, Maybe I should do the top layer of my full head tip to root line, But I'm not sure, Don't say DON'T BLEACH YOUR HAIR, OR SEE A PROFESSIONAL, I am not wasting 200 dollars on my hair, cause I'm actually preparing my hair for a blue, but I may leave some of my hair blonde, anyway HELLPPPP?

Can you dye/bleach your hair twice in one day?

If you use a permanant hair color to change everything black, and then bleach the top orange, the orange part will have been subjected to two doses of very damaging chemicals.

What you could do instead . . .

1) use permanant color on everything but the part you want to do orange, and then bleach the rest to whatever shade of orange you want.

2) use semi-permanant color on everything (it washes out after a few weeks, but is much less damaging to hair), then bleach the top orange.

And yes, new growth will come out whatever color and softness it is now. After a little while, it will look like you bleached your roots.

BTW, don't do your eyebrows. People tend to get the dye in their eyeballs, and it damages the tissue and can cause severe permanant damage. If you want to change their color, use a color pencil (available from Walmart or your corner drugstore).

Middle/Ends of hair won't bleach!?

Hey (: I'm bleaching a section of my hair with Manic Panic volume 30 hair lightening stuff. My hair was previously a medium brown and only the top part of my hair is turning blonde. My middle/tip hairs are BARELY turning blonde but they look light brown at the moment. What can I do to turn them blonde? Also, how long should I wait to get a very light blonde? It's been in here for at least and hour or 40 minutes.

Uneven bleached hair - at home fix?

Sort of quick question. What is the best way to fix an uneven bleach job? Should I sort of "spot bleach" and first hit the darkest sections, then go back over the lighter sections?
Or should I do a "shower capping" or "soap capping" where I mix the bleach normally (2:1) with 30 developer, and add shampoo, lather it all up, let it set for about half an hour, then wash it all out?

My biggest issue was that I didnt apply the bleach correctly. I had about 9 oz of product to work with but this is my first time ever bleaching my hair. I did the sections too big, I tried to rub in the bleach to the strands, and the bleach kept drying out ON my hair.
Should 9oz have been enough? I have thick, dark brown, coarse, wavy hair.

I know it is possible to do my hair at home. About half of my hair is now a light brown while the other half is a mixture of slightly orange all the way to the pale yellow I want. The entire bottom layer that I started with, is a lemony yellow, it's the top section that's all crazy.

I checked my hair to make sure it could stand another bleaching session. My hair is softer now then it was before the bleaching! lol. And I know my scalp can take the lathering, the first attempt didnt sting in the slightest.

Im worrying because I dont want to do another typical bleaching session and not have enough product to work with. But I dont want to do the shower capping/ soap capping if the parts that are already where I want them, are going to turn to mush from overbleaching.
