How Do I Center My New Tv Monitor

Why don't movies in DVD format fill the entire screen on my new TV?

3 possibilities -1) Aspect ratio on television set incorrectly (as mentioned above) Use your TV remote to change - it varies by TV, but typically there's a 16:9 vs. 4:3 setting (which you'd want set to16:9, then there are various 'zoom' settings that can change the appearance. if your issue is that you have black or white space to left or right of pic, then this is likely your problem.2) Aspect ratio on your cable box/dish box, etc.  Same as above; often will combine with TV settings making it even more difficult to figure out. Set TV to 16:9 and Zoom to 'Full' or 'Wide', then adjust cable set-top box.(cable box settings (#2 above) will only affect DVD playback if DVD output runs through cable box)3) MOST LIKELY - DVD's can be recorded at various aspect ratios (length to height). Believe it or not, a lot of movies shown in theaters use a 2.35:1 ratio.  If this is transferred to DVD, you will have black or grey  bars above and below your screen, b/c a typical HDTV uses 16:9, or 1.77 ratio.  Look on the box cover of the DVD. If it states '1.85:1' or just 1.85, then you should be good. If it states 2.35, expect the black bars.  If you absolutely hate them, you can 'zoom' in with your TV control, but you'll lose some of the left-side and right side.

How can I hook up my studio monitors to my television?

I have two m-audio BX5a studio monitors that I use with my computer to listen to music and produce occasionally. They run through an m-audio fast track interface so I know that that's the only way they could work on my computer, or at least that is what the guys at my local guitar center told me. Now that I have a nice TV and an Xbox 360, i want to somehow hook the monitors up to my TV because the sound on my tv sucks and yeah I have no idea how I would do this. I'm quite sure I need some type of cable, and I'm hoping maybe someone on here may know? The monitors both have TRS inputs in the back of them. My theory is that if I buy a trs cable with a headphone jack at the end of it, and plug them up to my tv that way, it should work, but since i use the interface with my computer, im not sure if i will need one for my tv as well or what. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or just downright answers, i would be SOOOOOOOOO happy. Thanks to all

If I return a broken tv to rent a center can they press charges if I dont continue to pay?

It would depend on why it was broken. If it's a manufacturing defect or something like that, then you'll be covered under the warranty and/or rental agreement. If it's broken because someone threw a bottle into it, or something similar, then you've got a different situation. RAC can require you to continue to pay off the TV. If you don't, they can charge you with "theft of leased property", which is a misdemeanor in most states, and if you're guilty will wind you up with fines and probation at the very least.

Google "theft of leased property" and your state name for more info. Linkus doesn't know what he's talking about. There's a very real legal difference between defaulting on a consumer loan and keeping a rental item without paying for it. That's why Rent-to-own places can extend credit to individuals who wouldn't qualify for any other type of loan.

Black lines on the sides of my tv I'm using as a monitor?

I have a dynex 24 in. 1080p hdtv at 60hz refresh. My PC has an asus EAH5450 silent (512 mb) hd graphics card and when I set the graphics to 1080p everything is correctly scaled on the win 7 ui and backgrounds, but there is a black bar all the way around my screen, almost as if it isn't being recognized by windows. If I set the resolution to 1280x1024, however, everything fits to the full screen but backgrounds seem stretched and hang off the screen. I am using HDMI obviously, but I can't figure out the problem. If anyone knows what's going on, any help would be greatly appreciated.
