How Do I Change The Sleep Time In Windows 8 I Set Control Panel Power Option To 10 Min But It

How can I continue downloading files on uTorrent when my laptop is in sleep or hibernate mode?

I am sorry to tell you that once your laptop enters SLEEP (Suspend) or Hibernation mode all active activities seizes, there is no downloading happening past this point any further. If you would like to make sure that what you are downloading on uTorrent continues all night long, you will need to make sure you computer doesn’t enter sleep mode, you can set POWER management to “never” when it comes to when to set the computer to sleep when powered with AC power, but feel free to give some minutes to when to turn off the display, the display doesn’t need to be on for the downloading to continue. Later on when you want to turn on the display all what you would have to do is move the mouse and the computer will be functional through all this time.Searching for POWER on Control Panel and then clicking on Power Options would take you to the power options properties page.

How do I stop hard disk from continuously spinning in Windows 10?

When power is applied to a hard disk, it is always spinning the disk. In a few cases there is an option in power management to spin down the disk. It would require some time to get it spin up to speed before you could read to or write from it.Now, perhaps by spinning you mean that there is constant activity reading and writing to the drive. You may be able to find a culprit process upon which to blame this. Right click on taskbar, choose Task manager from the menu, select the “Process” tab and click at the top of the column labelled “Disk”. Click again if it did not sort with larger numbers at the top. You can drill in deeper and find out who is writing to the disk and reading from it. Then go after those applications. Another option is that you have some malware installed. Finally, it is possible that you have exceeded your available memory and it is utilizing virtual memory on the disk. Take a look at the top of the Memory column in Task manager to see how much is in use. You may be running too many applications for your available memory or you may have too little memory for the number of applications (depends on your needs :-).

My laptop is taking too much time to start I have a windows 10, what is the problem please help?

There are two ways to go about this: Kill apps from starting automatically when booting into windows. You can do so by going to Task manager (ctlr + alt + delete) and then clicking on the start up tab. It looks something like this: Note that I have disabled all applications from starting up automatically, except two: GlassWire and f.lux, which I absolutely need. The second option is to enable quick boot up. Windows enables this by default. However, check if you had disabled it sometime. For this, you can open windows explorer and type in "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings" or, search for "Power Options" on the start menu, and click "Require a password on wakeup" from the sidebar. It looks like this: Fast startup (aka: hiberboot, hybrid boot, or hybrid shutdown) is turned on by default in Windows and is a setting that helps your PC start up faster aftershutdown. Even faster than hibernate. Windows does this by saving an image of the Windows kernel and loaded drivers to the hiberfile (C:\hiberfil.sys) upon shutdown so when you start your PC again, Windows simply loads the hiberfile (C:\hiberfil.sys) into memory to resume your PC instead of restarting it. How can I adjust the length of time my computer screen stays active before switching over to screensaver mode?

In Windows 8.1 right click the "Window" when in "desktop" mode. Then left click on "Search" and type in "screen saver". This will take you to the screen saver "window" where you can set which files will be used. Back in the time when cathode ray monitors were used, you could "burn in" a display by leaving the same picture on for too long. With modern LCD monitors this is no longer a problem and screen savers are used just for "entertainment" today. It is my personal opinion that instead of making computers "easier" to use, we are making things more difficult instead! For example, Windows 8.1 is "different" than Windows 8. Which in turn is different than Windows 7. I skipped "Vista", but Windows XP is different from the previous versions of Windows 9.x that preceded it. Then Chromebooks are "different" yet, although the OS is simpler to learn. (so far, as Google will likely "upgrade" it with time)
