How do I convince my mom to cook healthier?

Okay so I really want to start eating healthier and get in better shape before the spring/summer time. I work out 5 times a week and that is giving me very small results. The main problem is my mom doesn't cook healthy food or buy healthy food. Almost every night she deep fries something for the family to eat and she really only buys processed foods. She'll buy apples, bananas, carrots, etc but that's probably the healthiest thing we have in the house. Sorry if I sound like a brat but I'm not just doing this for my own sake I want to help my whole family eat better. Any suggestions on how to get her to buy better foods?

Her food is terrible. Whenever, she cooks, she puts a lot of weird stuff in her cooking. Her curry chicken is not at all Indian, and it's TERRIBLE. I hate what she cooks, and I'd rather we just make sandwiches and cereal to eat every meal. (Yes, sandwiches and cereal can be healthy, depending on how you make them.)

I often don't eat what she cooks, but she sometimes forces me to.

Either way, I don't like her food. Is it normal that I dislike my parents' cooking?

Furthermore, my dad always wears girly, immodest clothes in public. He last wore a tanktop, denim shorts, and boots to church. He embarrassed the barf out of me when he came to pick me up from youth group. I can't believe they are my parents.

I can't believe my dad is so embarrassing. In the summer and spring break, we basically go to the gym every day to stay fit, and he always wears tanktops and denim short shorts to the gym. Whenever he lifts weights or does pull-ups/push-ups, he sex groans like a goat, making life unbearable.

I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but my dad would suddenly leave the cardio room, abandoning me and my sister, and then he would go to the swimming pool and swim *naked.*

And at other times, occasionally we would go out to eat at an Italian place, and my dad would drink so much and spill wine everywhere, ruining my appetite.

Finally, sometimes, both my parents would talk bad behind my back. Can they stop?

How to convince my parents to eat healthier?

It's extremely difficult to get someone to change their behavior, especially an addict.

Well, I'm not saying your parents are addicts--but they might be. They could be addicted to overeating. This is a real illness just like alcoholism and drug addiction. If they are compulsive overeaters, they can't change by themselves, they need help.

Ask them these questions, or have them ask themselves when they are alone:

Do you eat when you're not hungry?

Do you go on eating binges for no apparent reason?

Do you have feelings of guilt and remorse after overeating?

Do you give too much time and thought to food?

Do you look forward with pleasure and anticipation to the time when you can eat alone?

Do you plan these secret binges ahead of time?

Do you eat sensibly before others and make up for it alone?

Is your weight affecting the way you live your life?

Have you tried to diet for a week (or longer), only to fall short of your goal?

Do you resent others telling you to "use a little willpower" to stop overeating?

Despite evidence to the contrary, have you continued to assert that you can diet "on your own" whenever you wish?

Do you crave to eat at a definite time, day or night, other than mealtime?

Do you eat to escape from worries or trouble?

Have you ever been treated for obesity or a food-related condition?

Does your eating behavior make you or others unhappy?

Have they answered yes to three or more of these questions? If so, it is probable that they have or are well on their way to having a compulsive overeating problem. Many people have found that the way to arrest this progressive disease is to practice the Twelve-Step recovery program of Overeaters Anonymous. Overeaters Anonymous is a free program run by recovering compulsive overeaters.

How do i convince my parents to buy healthy food?

I have a fat belly, so i want abs. well not really hardcore 6 pack juicy abs, because on a girl that looks kinda gross to me. And weird arms, like, theyre chubby like a 4 year olds.

So my parents rarely buy healthy food, all I get to eat is hamburgers (I dont even like hamburgers, but thats my only dinner and since kids in Africa are suffering, i suck it up.) ramen, and pizza.

The only healthy thing my parents buy is orange juice, but i usually end up buying that [and I`m 14, no possible way to get a job, I have to save Christmas money and birthday money for a year]

My mom is really fat, along with my dad. It doesnt look bad on my dad because he has like a Santa belly like hes pregnant or something. But my mom`s fat is just...not acceptable, like jelly rolls every where.

I even told my mom upfront she was fat and she yelled at me (She asked if some shirt made her look fat and i told her the truth) then i dropped the bomb that it would be nicer to have vegetables and fruits and she made the excuse that those were "more disgusting and expensive."

I told her it gave me more energy,my dad agreed but they still wont buy healthy foods?! how do I convince mostly my mom to buy healthy foods? Sorry for my little rant though

My mom won't let me exercise and eat healthier?

You should really talk to her about the food thing. Maybe try watching Supersize Me together. Or ask one of your gym teachers for some sound information on Nutrition to show her. Or, possibly try contacting a doctor (via phone or the internet) to see if they can provide you with materials to show your mom. You’re not feeling the energy and stamina in the gym class because of your diet, I’m pretty sure. Your diet may also be keeping you from building some of the muscle you would, were you to be getting healthier options.

Also, definitely try going for the healthier options when you go out to fast food. If you lead by example, getting things like salads and fruits when you go out, she’ll at least take notice. Also, try pushing for healthier places when you go out. Chipotle is much better for you than Wendy’s.

Also, let her know that diet and exercise don’t always make you skinnier. Weightlifters eat very healthy and exercise a lot. Those people are extremely muscular and not skinny by any means.

Lastly, if you sign up for sports, and she won’t pick you up… walk home. Then you’re getting even more exercise… ;)

If you want to get super extreme with it, stop eating what she’s giving you. If you refuse to eat the junk food she’s providing, I have a feeling your mom will feed you the food you’re asking for. Also, try calling your dad and relatives and explain your feelings on the food you’re being fed. It’s not good for you, and maybe they’ll have enough empathy to buy you some healthier things to consume.

You could also get a job and buy your own food.

Oil Butter and Ghee are good for the health - ONLY thing is that the oil should be NON REFINED - PURE - it helps in increasing good cholesterol which is a must for the body - REFINED oils are harmful - should be banned. How can I convince my mom i'm NOT doing drugs?

I have no other family to live with or anyone to go to to get out of my house but,

Alright, my mom has been accusing me of doing drugs for awhile now and it's started to really annoy me.
For starters I haven't been addicted to drugs in the past, I honestly have no friends, I don't go out.
I don't have money.
What started this is my new neighbors moved in a bit ago, they do smoke pot, I can smell it because we live in apartments so were close together and my living room window is right above their porch and I have a fan in the window since it has been so hot and we dont have air conditioning, my mom knows they smoke but now shes accusing me of doing it out of no where, cause every little thing I do she thinks im doing cause im high, I told her alright I will take a drug test and I said that on more then one occasion and she just says no but continues accusing! I know what you might be thinking, that im not being honest or telling the full story, well i am. If i wasnt telling the full story i wouldn't have come here for help cause I would know why shes doing this.
Now, if I eat, its cause im high, If I sniffle its cause im high, if i cough, its cause im high, if im playing a video game, its cause im high and tweaking out on it.
If I get tired and get lazy, its cause im high. you know how sometimes when you are talking you can get tongue tied or it comes out as a slur, thats cause i have cotton mouth..
shes being crazy I cant take it theres no reason for this. she wont let me prove it with a test and I hate her watching what I do judging every movement to see if I look high I dont even like being in the room with her, I feel like I cant do anything I can't even go to bed early cause she thinks im crashed out from being high. Ugh, what should I do? Is letting her do this the only way?
