How Do I Cope With My Pictures Being Released

Can someone sell a picture of me without permission?!?

It depends.

If it's not an artistic work, and it is being sold for the purposes of commerce, and you are recognizable within the photo, then no. They need your permission. If it's just a print that's for sale, and the photographer didn't breach your right to privacy when the photo was taken, then it can be sold without your permission (the sale of artistic works are excepted under such law.)

If it's part of a product - like say, on a greeting card, as part of a calendar, as part of packaging for some item, in an advertisement, etc. Then, they need your permission.

As for the person who asked about people in the crowd at sporting events: When you enter such an event you do so knowing that you may be filmed and your likeness broadcast/sold/etc. Thus, you willfully waive your rights to any compensation by entering the venue.

***EDIT*** It doesn't really matter if it's the actual photographer that's selling it or not. Let's say the photog took the picture, and sold a print to someone (he's allowed - artistic work) the person who bought the print is within their rights to re-sell the print they purchased.

Are you sure you didn't sign a release when the photo was taken? A release may have been part of any contract you signed to play the concert - the contract may have contained a clause that said something along the lines of: "Artist waives any rights to any photos taken within the venue on such and such a day, yadda, yadda, yadda."

Can i use THIS suv for my road test? (Picture Inside)?

Okay, so i am going to use my mothers SUV for a road test coming up in about a month. The only problem is the handbrakes on the SUV is located in the middle but more to the left side. So my question is can i use the 2004 Honda CR-V for my road test. Here is a picture of it, its that handle thing with a silver nob on the left.

THE RMV in MA states the vehicle must,

Be designed to let the examiner make an emergency stop using the emergency hand brake. If not, the vehicle CANNOT be used for the road test.

• Any vehicle with a center console that does not have an emergency hand brake as part of the console CANNOT be used.

• Any vehicle that does not allow the examiner unobstructed access to the emergency hand brake CANNOT be used.

My parking break release handle broke on my Dodge Charger, is there any other way of releasing it?

just remove the lower panel and use a small pair of vice grips and pull out wards on the cable then it will release, you can reinstall that one your self once you see how it goes if the handle didn't break on it,good luck.

How to open the hood of a 92 corvette?

If you feel under the dash by your left knee, you will find the handle for the hood release. It is not labeled. On my C4 (1996) you pull the handle downward toward you. It is a little difficult, so pull firmly. If you get on your knees outside the car with the door open and look under the far left side of the dash, you will see the lever.
