How Do I Explain The Ps3 User System To My Dad

PS Vita vs PlayStation 3?

Hi so my 8 year old brother and me( I'm 13 by the way) are getting either a PS Vita or a PS3 for Christmas. The problem is I have no clue what to pick. I like fps, Mario style, racing games. My brother likes mainly Nintendo style(Mario or Zelda) or Sponge bob so kiddy games. we both like PlayStation so we decided on that. My Dad likes watching us play the games and sometimes play with us. Price matters my Dad will only buy us either the Uncharted or Call of Duty bundle ( depending on which we get the PS vita or ps3) and 2 or 3 games each and we are responsible for any accessories or games we want. I would appreciate a list of 6 games for me and 6 games for my brother and needed accessories. Also a would love a list of total costs. I know the PS3 will benefit the entire family in the long run and the Vita would only be for my bor and me not m step sister or step mom or dad.

How do I make my stubborn parents let me play PS4?

That depends on why your parents are, as you say, stubborn. If you’re failing school, get your grades up. Video games can be a huge time sink, and your parents might not feel you need that.If your academics are fine and your health is fine, maybe try explaining to them that video games themselves aren’t any more damaging than the TV they’re probably watching as you walk in.At the same time, if you don’t already have a PS4 in your house, it could be expensive (~$300 minimum at the moment), so you’ll probably need to buy one yourself. If nothing works, you may be out of luck. You could try defying them, but that has the potential to end horribly (ranging from the PS4’s removal, to its destruction and an indefinite grounding, depending on who your parents are), so I wouldn’t recommend it.

Is it a bad idea to buy a gaming system for my 9 year old son?

Should you buy a gaming system for your pre-teen? This excellent question brings up two even more excellent thoughts. One, it’s fantastic that you think before you act on these kind of purchases. Too many parents just do what everyone else is doing. Congrats to you for asking the question. Two, before you make the purchase is the time to talk about limits, addictions, concerns, opportunities, responsibilities, where, when, how, how much, and why. It’s much easier to enforce rules and offer gentle reminders if you talked extensively about all that stuff ahead of time. (By the way, if those discussions lead to eye-rolling and statements like, “Gimme a break, it’s no big deal” or “You worry too much,” then that is your cue to back off and not make the purchase. And also take a few moments to explain why.)Worth noting, the same idea is true for buying skateboards, signing off on driver’s license applications, allowing your kids to date, and choosing a college and college major. Talk about stuff ahead of time.Remember when you put up gates, safety latches, and outlet covers before they were crawling? Same things here. Think about the season your child is about to enter and set them up for wise limits (self-enforced limits, if possible) and great success in whatever their endeavor. In the end, my best recommendation is be the hero, set some modifiable ground rules, buy the system, and play along!(From Jay Payleitner, the best-selling author of 52 Things Kids Need from a Dad.)

My dad won't let me play video games to relax?

My dad thinks that I play too much video games so he says I can't buy anymore new ones.

First of all, I don't play a lot. I am only allowed to play on weekends and holidays for 2 hours. It used to be 3 but then he shortened it an hour.

Second, I own a PS3 and Wii. I bought the PS3 by myself and my dad got the Wii for my birthday. That's what I don't understand. If he gets mad at me for playing "too" much but he buys me a Wii.....just so he can get angry with me?

Thirdly, I only own 6 games for the PS3 and 7 for the Wii. 2 PS3 games came with the system, the rest was spent with mine or my sister's money.

Fourth, I am a straight A student at the moment and taking all honors classes possible. I finish my homework everyday on the weekdays but that doesn't convince my dad to let me play. I play video games so that I can relax and take a break from all the vigorous work that I do during the week. It's a simple hobby that I love to do yet I'm not obsessive about it. I feel like the only way I can ever relax playing video games or even going to a friend's house (my dad rarely lets me do so) is to wait until I graduate and move out on my own. Is there any tips, advice, or a way of convincing my father to let me have a bit of freedom for once?

Why won't PS3 Call of Duty: World at War let me play online?

I purchased World at War, put it into my PS3 and started it up. It prompted me to update the game to 1.07, so I did, but right after it finishes installing the update and starts the game up, my whole system freezes. Every time I start the game, the Call of Duty Now Loading logo pops up in the bottom right, then the screen goes black and my system freezes. Ive even reformatted my system and it still does it. Ive also swapped out the copy of the game 3 times AND tried it on a second system in the house and it still freezes. The weird thing is even after updating, if I start the game offline, it plays flawlessly. I can offline campaign, etc, but the second I log into Playstation Network, the game freezes. I have no idea why I can't be logged into Playstation Network while playing this game.
I know my explanation is long, but please help. Thank you in advance.

How to destroy a PS3 without anyone knowing?

Yup , my kids are addicted to this thing and no matter what they just can't stay off of it. I want to break it but not make it look like I broke it. I don't know like connect a car battery to it and zap it or blow dirt into the motor? Does anyone have Ideas? I don't want them to know I broke it, I want them to think it broke on it's own. Please help. Sounds terrible to break something, but their addiction is very very bad and ruining their life. HELP!!!! thnx!

How do I make my sims 3 game Install?

Ok, about a week ago I bought the sims 3 on ps3 from my friend. I took it home and tried to play it. It got me to download a DLC and updates patch. So I downloaded it then it said it had to install the DLC/Updates and write game data. So I was installing it, then it got to an overall percent of 20 and a file percent of 45 and froze up for about 6 minutes. Then it skipped to overall percent of 100 and a file percent of 100 and froze again. Only this time it stayed frozen. So I left it on all night trying to get it to work and when I came back in the morning it still was frozen at 100 percent. So I turned it off and looked at my saved data utility and found out that the install data for the DLC and updates took up 1080 megabites. So I went to my friends house and looked at his saved data utility and found out that it was 4,500 megabites. So I tried to install it again and it didnt work. But it works fine when ever I play it at his house. I went to the sims 3 website and tried to make an account to explain my situation and it wouldnt let me, then I went to the playstation website and tried to get some help but it was down for matinence. I have enough free space on my ps3 but it just wont install. This is my last resort so someone please help! I'm kind of frustrated.

How can I convince my parents to buy me a PS4?

Show them all the other things a PS4 can do besides play games. This was how I (as a simple-minded teenager), convinced my parents to buy us a PS2.  Back then, the DVD had just hit mainstream attention, and our house was filled with nothing but old VHS players.  The PS2 had a DVD player built in, and many people bought it specifically to play dvds (without ever buying a single game).  My parents were able to upgrade their own entertainment, and give their kids a sweet Christmas gift at the same time! The PS4 is a massive media entertainment hub.  In addition to the bluray player, it supports tons of different streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, Amazon Prime video, etc, etc.  You can link your Spotify account to it and stream your own music from the living room.  You can browse the internet on it.  And depending on where you live in the U.S. you can subscribe to an entire TV channel package, and ditch your cable/satellite provider completely.  I've completely replaced all my various media hubs and disc players with the PS4.  It's my central command center for all entertainment, and it doesn't hurt that the game lineup is pretty sweet.  If either of your parents like technology at all, and wants to simplify the living room entertainment center, well...you've got your selling points now :)
