Old Cop Car. Fix back doors and windows?
Some cars, even if they are not police cars, have a lock mechanism in the back doors so children can't open them from the inside. If there are no handles you can get parts from a car of the same make and model at a junkyard.
The back door on my 1992 Chevy G20 wont open, how do I fix this?
I was moving the boat in today and I had both back doors of my 1992 Chevy G20 open to see, when I went to close them, I accedentally closed the wrong one first. I went to open it and it's stuck. I took off the panel on the inside (the one with the carpet on it) and I can see a loose control arm, it looks like its the one that goes to the bottom latch. But when I press the button on the door, the top latch does not open as well. Is there any way I can get this door open just so I can close both doors? Currently the left door wont close because the right door is blocking it. Any tricks to just pop it open without having to get the little bar fixed? Or is there a way to remove the mettal backing of the door so I can work on the control arm and try and figure out how to fix it? Inside there is only a small square hole to work in, and I have big hands.... :( PLEASE HELP!

depends on the model…for newer model marutis and hyundais check whether child lock lever is engaged (generally situated near the locking mechanism),which if accidentally engaged will not allow you to open the door from inside.Hope that solves your issue.)
How much does it cost to fix a small dent in a van's back door?
My husband backed into a shopping cart the other day and it hit a van and dented the back door. It was a small dent about the size of a golf ball and had no scratch or paint chip. The guy called today and decided he wants it fixed and I am just wondering how much it is going to cost us. Our insurance will cover it but then our premium will go up about $150.00 a year. I'm just wondering if it will be cheaper to pay for it on our own and not put an accident on our insurance. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry I don't have information specific to your model but I can say that most vehicle interior door panels are attached the same way. In general, the inside door panel on most vehicles is held in place by clips that run around the perimeter of the door panel and one or two screws at the door handle and the door lock location. From the description you provided it sounds like you already found and removed a screw at the door handle which is a good start. Look also all around the underside of the door handle and especially around the area where your fingers go when you pull the door closed. There is a lot of force applied to the handle at this location and car makers will use either a set of clips or screws to secure the door handle. Next examine closely the door latch release handle - that is to say the handle one would pull to open the door from the inside. It is not uncommon to see a small screw at that plate that is often concealed from view until the handle is puled outward. Now you're ready to pull off the interior door panel. Start at a lower corner (either side) and pull or pry the interior door panel away from the metal door. you'll begin to see the clips that hold the door panel on. They will be either snap clips or friction clips and both function the same way. it is simply a male/female arrangement between the clip and the hole in the metal door. Work around the door pulling slowly from the bottom up both sides. Watch carefully and look into the cavity to ensure that there are no additional screws or wiring that needs to be unplugged. You need more finesse than brute force at this point. When you get the door panel clips completely freed you'll find that the top of the door panel fits into the top of the door with a small lip. You'll need to pull up and out to remove it. Double check that you've unplugged the wiring for the power window up/down button and anything else like speakers. I have every confidence that you'll get this it's not terribly hard. Good Luck, Saturday.
My back door on my Suzuki won't open all the way now. How can I fix this???
Have a Suzuki Vitara sport.... back door/hatch opened fine up until about 2 months ago. Had no accident, can't find anything by the door hinges blocking them.
