How Do I Get A Job As A Teenager

Where to apply for a job as a teenage?

i have a casual job right now, where i only go as needed, and i’ve applied at many places but i haven’t gotten one call back. the only first job i’ve got is my current one and i’m only a dishwasher and i’m not sure where to reach out from here.

i’m starting to think the only reason i’m not getting called back is because of how old i look? i’m 16, soon 17, and most people mistaken me to be 13-14 years old.

i’m not looking to work at a busy environment, just a small one to start. any recommendations? or tips to help me get hired? anything to add to my resume?

Is getting a job worth it as a teenager?

Congrats on your first job. I’d imagine it’s the first of a long line of jobs you may get in the future, and the experience you earn there will serve you over time. As far as whether or not you keep this job, consider this:Job Pros:Money — car, dates, clothes, college, games, etc. Money is good. Greed is good.Client interaction — all your life, you’ll have to interact with clients. This is a good time to learn how to do that in a (hopefully) low pressure, low stress way.Manage expectations — your boss will require certain things of you, but you will have a different set of priorities. Here you will practice how to tell your boss you will be hanging out with your friends instead of coming in for the double shift, but do so in a tactful and fair way. There’s a difference between “Sorry dude, no can do.” and “Yes, I hear your request and I wish I could help. Unfortunately, I can’t at this time. Could you give me at least 24 hrs notice in the future?”Real world dynamics — you may currently be judged on effort or attempts. Your future world, as Yoda knows so well, is judged as follows: “Do or do not. There is no try.” Your boss will judge you based on what benefit you can bring to him, not how hard you try.Job Cons:Cannot be in clubs at schoolPossibly unfulfilling or unstimulating. The importance of your high school clubs will have to be a priority of your own choosing, but honestly, I regret spending time in clubs in high school. I was in student government, Science bowl, band and debate. None of that really has any bearing on my life today, while the research skills I learned while interning at a local university’s research lab were far more important. Ask yourself this: what is the substance of the being in those clubs, aside from social interaction? Did you learn something you could not have otherwise learned? Did you do something you could not have otherwise done? Therein lies your marginal return on your time. Your marginal cost is not have the job and all the benefits from it.I would recommend take the money. Always take the money.

How can a teenager (17) get a job with no experience?

Kudos to you for wanting to start earning money and be independent.  Keep applying.Everyone starts their first job with no work experience. By definition, your first paying job is your first paying job. So everyone deals with the challenge of getting a first job with no work experience. You are starting at the right places - fast food joints are great starting jobs. It is a bit surprising that the first five places you applied turned you down. Did they say why?  You need to find out why you were turned down.Unless those fast food places are unusual, they should be constantly hiring. If you got turned down five times, you need to understand why. This means you have to do an objective assessment of your application and interviewing process. If you cannot be objective, find someone who can. If you ask mommy and daddy - they will ignore your faults and say you are perfect and should get the job. Ask someone who can give you an unbiased assessment of your personality. Do a mock interview with a teacher or other adult and ask them for candid feedback. If you are doing something wrong, you need to know about it and fix it. Nothing to be ashamed of - you are new to the job market and you just need to learn how to navigate these strange waters.

How can a teenager get a job in Dublin, Ireland?

Part time jobs are avaialble and you need to travel from shop to shop and keep on distributing your resume so keep it handy. There is also age restriction to work since you have not mention your age so i asume you are legal to work. If you are from Non-Eu person you can only work for 20 hrs a week with max 9euros/ hr salary and that is applicable only on study visa which shall be calid for 3 years. You can also look on irish job website and keep posting your resume for the jobs like reception based role in a hotel or working in jack and jones shop or working in a printing press or you can be a teacher if you have teaching skills. There are lots of opportunity but all you need is to get out of your bed early in the morning evwn before the sun shine in the sky and you need to keep chasing for the job. Make this as your priority and keep all the other stuffs behind. All the best

When you apply for a job (I'm a teenager) do you go to places in person to apply, or do you apply online?

In most cases, you would go in person. It seems like the Help Wanted signs are still the preferred medium of drawing in potential employees for jobs suited to "teenage-level" abilities. Online applications seem to be reserved for higher level jobs (those that one would need some sort of college degree for), but there may be a few cases where potential places for you to work at have some sort of online application system. Regardless, most places looking to hire usually have the paperwork attached to a clipboard on a table inside the store, so it looks like going in person is your best bet.Good luck!

How did you manage getting a job as a teenager?

I applied everywhere to everything. I showed up on time neat and clean, ready to work, even at interviews.I got told to go away. A lot. Quite a lot.I also picked up a lot of odd jobs, and more importantly information about other jobs. I delivered newspapers, flipped burgers, graded papers for a teacher, mowed lawns, put up flyers all over town, swept floors, babysat, looked after pets, worked in community gardens, you name it.Persistence is the only trick, besides great luck or other people helping you find something out of the ordinary.

What are some good jobs for teenagers with social anxiety?

I'm not a teenager but I would say any job that deals with the least amount of people. I would also suggest trying to push yourself out of your comfort zone and working places that you don't feel you would be able to do. Start now. I'm 40 and started at age 39. I took a whole year to work on my social anxiety head on. ✌But if you must work in jobs that offer the least social engagement I would recommend the jobs below :-working at a library filing books. Less people to talk to and deal with-working with animals. Animals offer calming abilities-dog walker may help get over the anxiety seeing as you have a form of protection while out in public-landscape, yard work, etc. Either working for a company or making a flyer letting neighbors know what you can do with their yards. No people to deal with, only the people who pay you.-housekeeping…don't have to deal with people except for those who pay youIf f you are 18, join Care.com Find Child Care, Senior Care, Pet Care and Housekeeping and help care for kid, animals or elderly in their homes.-lifeguard…semi social but you just sit there and watch people swim-Physical Therapist assistant…walk round with a clip board and tell patients who are injured to do this or that 15 times. You pretty much stay quiet while watching them to make sure they are doing their exercises correctly.
