The problem with a lemonade stand is that you have to locate it somewhere where there are willing buyers. My granddaughter, who lives in NYC, put up a stand at a busy intersection in Manhattan and sold 150 cups of lemonade at a dollar a cup in three hours on many days last summer. She was 15 at the time. That is more than a lot of adults earn! Her location was what made the sales possible. It isn't the product so much as where you sell it and what hours you sell it. She picked the afternoon on hot summer days. People are thirsty and it would cost them $4.00 to go into a restaurant and buy it, plus they would have to leave a tip and wait for it. She used an old family recipe with a splash of lime to give it that special flavor.
