So, I want to tryout for this upcoming season (2012) of women's soccer at UNM (University of New Mexico). I was wondering when tryouts are and what I should expect when I go.

Find out which is the best team in the local competition and try to join that club (you may have to try out to make the team). If you are any good then the regional based teams will pick you up (that is representative teams for cities, and states). Phoenix FC (a team that plays in the third tier of pro soccer in the USA) has a youth academy. Again try out for them (if you live near Phoenix). Even if you don't and want to go pro you may have to travel to one of these bigger clubs. I live about 2 hours south of a capital city. Kids younger than you have moved to that city to live with family to go further with their careers (or their parents have moved to accommodate the child). Other parents make the 2 hour drive twice a week and on weekends.

I want to play soccer in any Mexican, Spanish, or English clubs but how would I go about getting a tryout? I am good, I believe I have the ability to play. I am 15. While I excel and am a key asset for my current high school team, I am not anything out of this world or extra-spectacular, so i would assume that many many many other people with the same desire to play professional soccer are just as eligible as far as ability goes. however, while i may seem amusing, i believe i have a slight advantage and could be impress professional coaches for clubs, because i have an uncanny sense of tactics, vision, and chemistry, which all are attributed to watching so many pro soccer games. I watch at least two or three games a day when not playing soccer. I see it as a disadvantage to me that players on my high school team lack the same sense of tactics and such, therefore my full ability cannot be demonstrated. I would like to know the exact steps to receiving a trial with a professional club, maybe not now but when i am 16 or 17 or 18. How exactly does one receive a trial with a club, anywhere from a third tier club in Holland or a Premier League Giant? I assume I do not just go to Old Trafford and ask for one..? any help would be appreciated. I know I am capable of achieving something within the nest few years.

if youre going to play pro nowadays my friend got in through the u.s. juniors team. definitely tough to make but otherwise youll need a club team that at least plays in state tourneys and plays in nationals pretty often. club teams are your way in in the u.s. for sure.

Where are you based? Probably keep your eye out if any clubs are conducting trials by following their Facebook/Twitter accounts. Also, constantly check their websites for any information. It wouldn't be a bad idea personally visiting the local professional club and inquiring about trials. They might let you register even for future trials.
