How Do I Get Back On Track At School As Levels

How do I get back on track with Highschool?

A2A. It seems like you genuinely want to get on a better track, but you keep 'slipping'. Here's the thing: there's no special secret to living a better life. It takes dedication and persistence. It will help to have a clean break: get rid of your druggie friends; cut off as many ties to that negative lifestyle as you can; sell, give away, or throw out your belongings that feel tied to your old life. Talk to your teachers and explain you're trying to better yourself, ask for extra credit. Take up a few activities that interest you which might help you focus more: sports, yoga, meditation? I always find after an intense workout, I can focus much easier on schoolwork. It also seems like you don't connect very well with your parents. Find another adult mentor you can trust, whether it be a teacher, relative, or guidance counselor. Additionally, see if there are some easier dual credit classes you might be able to take as a senior. Being in a college environment is a good fresh start for many people. All the best.

How bad is it to drop a full grade level in high school?

You mean to go from an A to a B or a C to a D? A to B not bad at all; C to D; bad. Now that if you are talking a grade on a couple of quizzes, I wouldn't worry much. If you are talking mid-term or final class grades, I would be more concerned. Advice: Do not wait until mid-term or final grades. As soon as you see a couple of quizz drops, get working harder, talk to classmates, and to the teacher and get back on track.

How do I get my life back on track?

I've lost all motivation to live. I've become depressed, lazy, and stupid. Some nights I cry my self to sleep and have serious suicide thoughts. Feel lonely at times. And miss the people who meant a lot to me 5 months ago.

Between a girl and some guy friends, I've become this loser that doesn't really have friends. I thought I had it all just a few months ago. Began senior year, had a homecoming date, and supportive friends. First went the friends and all I had left was her. Within a matter of 3 weeks it was all gone.

Every time I talk to my friends, they don't care about my problems, even though I tell them what's wrong. Family is there for me. There the only reason why I haven't stuck a knife through my head, and I'm not joking.

Idk what happened to the girl. She just stopped talking to me and hanging out with me. She is so rude to me at times but I saw the good side of her and wish it would come back.

With all of this I've become depressed at the fact that I have college upcoming and I know it's going to be a tough transition.

I need to find motivation, I don't have any right now. All I think about is suicide and video games. Games are the only thing that keep my mind of things but my family doesn't know I have suicide thoughts and hate when I play video games. I'm lost and have givin up on life...

How do I get my family back on track?

I assume you are the good child in the family. By 'good' I mean the  one who has always acted according to the wishes of your family members(specially your father and sister)  and never daring to question them or act against them, as well as suppressing your feelings and opinions. This must have led them to take you (and your mother) FOR GRANTED. But at the same time they would be having DEEP RESPECT for you in their hearts (though they might not show it). I believe its time that you utilised this 'RESPECT' for your advantage and act a bit rebellious (only then will they realize that you also have some feelings and opinions of your own and that you also need somebody to listen to you (and not always the other way round) . Even I was facing the same problem till date and never thought too much upon solving it. That's why you'll not find any practical tips in the answer (as even I've not tried them yet) , but I just hope somehow it'll help you (God knows how). Seeing your suddenly awakened me from my 'deep slumber' and I'll also try to do my level best to get my family 'back on track' ! If I find something helpful, I'll surely edit the answer.Till then, consider me as a companion in the same journey and remember, the key is 'USE the Respect and Love for you in their hearts to BEND them' ! :)(and if you dont understand some part, feel free to question further! )

How do you skip a grade in NYC high school?

I really want to know if I can skip a grade somehow. I know all of what I'm learning already. In middle school, I was taught at higher levels and there was higher expectations. I had to have English and Math taught at 12th grade levels. I know those subjects the most. Our school even had a test to determine our English comprehension and writing skills and I scored the highest in my school, having the comprehension skills of a person in their second year of college. As for math, we haven't had any tests that could determine my level, but on my finals exam, I scored 100, and it was regents questions. I even know trigonometry. I don't know if I can use these as a reason to skip, or if they still allow it, but, I do know most of the material. I'm learning less than what I already know. Also, I started school late, so I'm a year older than everyone else in my grade, and if I skipped a grade, I'd go back on track with my age again, so that I can graduate earlier than I would be. I'm still a freshman, so I probably can't skip now, and especially since it's almost the end of this school year. I just want to learn more than what I am currently learning because it's a repeat of what I learned throughout middle school.

How can I get back on track in architecture?

First of all, don't panic! That is absolutely normal.I have been in that place. Many others have been too. Architecture starts out as a totally different and bizarre field for many including myself at first because it's far from what we have experienced at school. But the good news is that it's totally a multidisciplinary field of study. You can always specify your field of expertise based on your true passion and talent. If you like socialogy, you can focus on social aspects of the built environment. If you have more of a mathematical mind, you can pursue technology of architecture, like construction and building systems, or more importantly energy studies. If you like programming, there are tons of various fields like computational architecture that mostly focus on dealing with algorithms in software programming. The thing is: you can ALWAYS give a specific directtion to architectural studies and make it work the way you like it to work.Let me give you an example…I didn't like architecture like you for about 2 years after I started it to the extent that I wanted to change my major. But instead I finished my bachelors studies and for the Masters I started technology of Architecture because I had a more mathematical mind. I can't tell you how much different it is than the basic architecture lessons we used to have in the Bachelors level. It is more technical, involves a lot of intricate simulations and I feel much much more pleased than pursuing architecture in general. I am now starting my PhD thesis with a professor in mechanical engineering faculty! There, I just managed to give direction to my studies into a more technical field of science: energy conservation. And I know a lot of other architecture students who used to not to be good in the basic bachelors level studies but turned out to be very successful in their Masters level because they made their studies more unique in the way they desired it. Some became more engineer-like and some got more philosophical and artistic. It all depends on you and only you…

Not trying to be ignorant but is alternative schools for stupid people?

not always...

alternative schools can be for many reasons, learning disabilities being one of them. some school are for the "bad" kids that need a different way of learning, to get their lives back on track. some are for special circumstance children, maybe kids who need different times or have events in their lives that affect school

How do I get motivated to do well in school? I am bad at A levels and losing hope.

If you are in Year 1 of ‘A’ levels then you have time to sort yourself out.Can you go and see a nice teacher and/or pastoral care and get some help and guidance. If you’re struggling with the courses and subjects then I would have thought someone would have advised you as to what to do already. If we choose the wrong subjects then it’s hard to be good at them as ‘A’ levels are pretty intense. If we choose subjects we love then it’s natural to want to study about them and do all the necessary reading that we need to do to write confidently and authoritatively to the standard required by ‘A’ levels.Sorry that you’re not having such a good time; am sure by flagging this up now you can get the guidance and steer that you need and get back on track or onto new subjects maybe.Best of luck and don’t worry - am sure there will be a solution that works for you as there generally always is in life.
