How Do I Get Cvv/cvv2 Program

How do I bypass a CVV number while processing a payment if it's not on my card?

Peter has answered it all, I've few more inputs to help you understand better. As a quick answer, you can bypass CVV if you have a payment processor that doesn't need a mandatory cvv field. I don't think is possible in practical as cvv is one of the major criteria to control fraud these days. From my experience, I've myself made payments successfully many a times to Godaddy for domains those days without entering cvv or even entering wrong cvv of my card. Those are old days but you can't do it now.Looks like visa/MasterCard is ok with not verifying cvv with payment processors who has huge transaction volume and less chargeback records.Hope the info helps :)

Why don't Maestro cards have a CVV number?

The text below has been copied from the FAQ section of Maestro Card pages of SBI website. Can I use SecureCode for Maestro on-line purchasing using any computer? How will SecureCode change the online purchase process? The online purchase process will not change except that now you will be prompted to provide your SecureCode during checkout. Your SecureCode will never be revealed to the merchant during the checkout processApparently SecureCode is an alternative to CVV. It seems the merchant can see your CVV but SecureCode is not visible ti the merchant.I do not have any experience with Maestro cards but possibly the card payout module switches to a Maestro Card plug in fir all online vendors to accommodate the new SecureCode. I am sceptical about it.Someone has posted this on the internet, don't know if it works.Generally SBI card users face a lot of problems while online shopping as always they are asked to type the CVV no and the expiry date which is absent on a SBI maestro debit card, for this just use the following :For CVV no just type the last three digits of your ATM pin no.And for expiry date add 5years 8month to the starting date.[1]Footnotes[1] CVV number and Expiry date of a SBI Maestro card

No human being can get it for you. It is not stored on the card. It is not available in your online banking app. It cannot be determined from the card number. They did not go to the trouble to create this security feature so that you could find out on Quora how to defeat it easily. The answer is always the same:Call your credit card bank. They will happily send you a new card to your current address, with a new CVV. That is literally the only way you can get it.

Then tilt it at a ten degree angle. You’ll be able to read the CVV regardless of whether the ink has faded. You will notice, at this angle, that the numbers are slightly embossed (i.e. the numbers are ever-so-slightly raised from the card).

How is a CVV code calculated?

Card verification code(CVC) or Card verification value (CVV) are usually generated using Hardware security modules (HSM). Although there are software modules which are capable of generating the code, most banks prefer HSM for security reasons. The input to HSM are account number, card expiration date, card service code and the key used for encryption.Even if you are able to figure out the logic to generate the CVV, you cannot generate the CVV without the key. This same logic is applicable for CVV1/CVV2 and PIN generation.High level overview of HSM is available in wikiHardware security module

That code is generated from your credit card number. It proves you have physical possession of the card and that you didn't use a software program to generate a legitimate looking card number..

Apple and Amazon save CVV numbers so they aren't PCI compliant - how do they deal with visa / master card and banks and other stake holders in the payments cycle?

They don't save CVV. They validate it on the initial transaction or with a zero dollar authorization only; it's never stored. The other card data needed for future transactions is replaced with a 'token', or 'key'.  How Apple & Amazon manage stored card data is different, but both are PCI Compliant.Merchants are only required to prove that they validated the CVV on the initial transaction, not subsequent recurring (stored) payment transactions. This is outlined in the card brand acceptance rules. Merchant fees are never impacted by CVV use. It's only used for fraud verification, not interchange rate qualification.
