Sew in for a mixed girl?

So i had bleached my hair almost a month or 2 ago. But now im just tiered of dealing with it,because brushing it makes it come out and i think leaving it alone for awhile in a sew in will help some. So i plan on getting a sew in ,but my friend keeps telling me its gonna make my hair fall out cause i dont have the "right" hair for it. I'm mixed with black and white. They say it is only meant for black females. Have anybody who isnt black or not fully black or know somebody who isnt fully black who has gotten a sew in and can tell me about there experiences with it. And maybe a little more about sew ins.

Ugh, honey I'm mixed too but that doesn't make us any better in any aspects than other races. Black hair is beautiful and thick not "nappy" and i will bet my *** that you have gotten your hair flat ironed to look more like white girls' "oily" hair. Get off your high horse.

I went to hair school and iv been doin hair since I was 8 yrs old so ur in good hand..... you can get a relaxer on ur hair to get its stright but I will tell to go to a shop and have a professional to do it for you and be sure that the tell you how to maintain it. I also know of some blacks with straight naps; meaning their hair doesn't curl and is straight, but it's a kinky, coarse straight. The world is much wider than your friends, so don't make over-generalizations based on what you've personally seen - something you'll more about as you get older, hopefully. And, I know of some mixed girls with really nappy hair (nappy means tightly curled/coily) like what most blacks have.

I'm mostly Italian and my hair is nice and thick and long it grows fast to. I guess it depends on your genes. My whole family has nice hair.

Ok, so I'm ready to finish learning how to swim. I've got two options, find a way to keep my hair dry under a swim cap, or just let my hair get wet and wear it curly. What are some products I can use to make my curls moist and shiny? When my hair gets dry it looks nappy, but when it's wet, it's curly and cute. How can I achieve the "wet look" all day? I've tried baby oil, olive oil and pink lotion... doesn't work. I want it to look curly like Mya or Christina Milians.
