How Do I Get My Parents To Back Off My Case

My parents never pay me back for anything...?

Well, the simple solution is to stop expecting them to pay you back.

It's very obvious they're only interested in pocketing the money that they can only access with receipts for school and school supplies. Stop giving them those receipts (and keep them someplace they can't access, like a safe deposit box) and tell them that if they're not going to reimburse you for what you've already spent you're just going to pay for things yourself and that money in the bank can rot for all you care since its not doing you any good anyway.

Why are my parents always on my case?

I'm 16. My parents always get into my business and search my room and always ground me for stupid reasons. Like last weekend I came home drunk from a part but I used a designated driver and if my grades drop below a C the teacher will call them and they will ground me until it is a C again. They don't treat my 18 year old brother this way. He goes to a community college on a pelgrant cause he dropped out when he was 16. He goes to parties every weekend more than me and uses a fake ID to go in bars and liquor stores. He is way less mature than me but my mom told me he is an adult now and can do whatever he wants and if chooses to break the law, it's his own prerogative and he will be responsible for his own actions. I said the same law applies to me and I know the penalty so I should be able to break it cause I'm aware of the consequences but she won't have it. She also slapped me in the face for arguing which I think is child abuse. It's mainly my mother cause my father is just like my brother. Always being drunken and they also drink and go to bars together. She's said I'll become like them if she allows this behavior but I am a responsible drinker and don't drink too much cause I know my limit and should not be grounded just for that. I am getting older and I feel I should be treated more like an adult.

Have you ever heard of a parent getting their child back after relinquishment?

I know often people ask questions about how long they have to get their child back after birth. I also know that often, the adoption agency will step in and drag things out until the parent(s) are unable to get their child back. Are there ever instances where the parents DO get their children back when they change their minds? Can you give some examples, links, books, or anything tangible to show how often this happens?

Thanks in advance.

What did your parents do when they caught you smoking weed?

Haha okay this still makes me laugh!I'd been smoking weed since I was around 11. I was about 13 and while I was looking for sand paper for a school project, I stumbled across a random seemingly empty coffee can. Curious, I peaked inside and found a rolled up sandwhich bag with green stuff in it. I unrolled it to check out it's contents and found an 8th of weed! I was so excited because at the time I didn't have any. So I dipped in and took a good size nug and put it back before I got caught!!I continued to randomly take some here and there. Making sure I didn't take a noticeable amount, and rolled it up how I thought it was. I did this for a few months, thinking how sneaky and awesome it was…Well one day I ran out so I want into the garage as usual to dip into my parents stash can. But this time, the lid had in black bold sharpie: “Gotcha!!!” and the coffee can was completely empty. I was so scared, I want out the side door and went for a very long walk to think of what excuses I could give them. Nothing was really going to work. So I get back home an hour or 2 later, hoping things would just be left unsaid. NOPE. Haha they were in the living room waiting. My heart was racing, my mind about to explode thinking of my punishment. Starting blushing and sweating. Finally after what seemed like hours of silent parents staring me down, they finally said:“we always roll the bag up differently everyday so we figured you were taking some when the roll wasn't right… you need to ASK us next time. Can't stop you obviously from smoking, so instead of STEALING it from us just ask please.”I sighed a huge breath of relief. “Yes! I'm off the hook!” I thought.“Oh Megann, by the way, your also grounded for 3 months… “Damn… haha almost! They couldn't have been more mellow and nice about it. Surprised the hell out of me that's for sure! They could've done locked me up and thrown away the key for WAY longer then what I got, so that was pretty cool. The same scenario played out almost exactly the same when I got caught stealing their cigarettes too. Haha after I got a job at 16 my mom agreed to just buy me my own pack as long as I payed for them myself.

Can my dad get off child support if my parents are back together?

In Texas, after the custodial parent reports to the child support office that he/she got back together with the noncustodial parent they make a note on their file and then he/she has to go back after 6 months has passed to report that they are still together and then they will finally close the case. the noncustodial parent is still responsible for paying child support throughout those six months until case is closed.

Why does my parents think school is so easy?

I get what you mean. A lot of parents and teachers have this mind set that "if you really wanted to, then you could." They tend to think if your grades aren't good then your just being lazy. All you can do is try to explain to them that you are trying, if they still think your just being lazy then let them. I'm pretty sure they're yelling at you because they want you do to good in school, but they need to realize that taking your phone aways and banning you from a social life isn't going to help you get a better grade.

I failed Honors Calculus. I hate myself for failing it, but I honestly didn't understand it. I stay after school almost everyday to get help. I asked a lot of teachers for help and i still didn't get it. My parents thought I wasn't trying. At the end of the semester i had a nervous breakdown...then they finally realized I wasn't being lazy... I wish they would have just listened in the first place.
