How Do I Get People To Send Press Releases To Me

What is your goal when you send out a press release?

In my experience with our clients, there is definitely more than one goal when sending out a press release. I think you've hit on a lot of them such as increased visibility and awareness, increased traffic to a web site or Facebook group page, and also with the advent of social media, the idea that people will share the press release with their network of friends, colleagues and associates. With regards to ROI, it really depends upon the "investment" you are making in sending out the press release, in my opinion. If you spend $1,000 with a wire service and only 100 people see the release and no one shares it, then I would say that the ROI on that is not good. However, if you are able to send out your release via an online newsroom or via a free press release distribution service then the ROI is much higher and can be more easily justified.Hope this helps!

How to send press releases to Yahoo! News and Google News?

You don't send a press release directly to Yahoo News or Google News. You have to use a provider that gets their press releases to both of these news portals - and more.

You can use PRWeb.com http://www.prweb.com - while it says it is "free", their free means your news release does not get anywhere except their website. If you want to get to Google News and Yahoo News, you have to "donate" at least $80.

Some PR services are more expensive. PR Newswire http://www.prnewswire.com charges significantly more ($120 for a single metropolitan area such as Metro Washington DC that includes Baltimore to Northern VA and $600 for nationwide), but they are able to penetrate more publications than the cheaper and free services such as PRWeb. They also are very effective in getting your news to print publications. Plus, they can get your release to databases such as Lexis Nexis or Westlaw, which outfits like PRWeb cannot do.

PR Newswire regularly works with Entrepreneur Magazine for special offers and discounts for small businesses. Here's their current offer now http://www.entrepreneur.com/services/det... . My advice is if you avail of it, watch out for the billing and make sure that you are not charged for services that are supposed to be free. They charged me $800 for services that are supposed to be free, and getting them to correct their invoice proved extremely difficult (their sales reps were so persistent in getting my account calling us up every so often and emailing, but was nowhere to be found when we had billing problems with them). We got our money by doing a chargeback on our card.

Or if you just want to get into Google News, you can submit your press release to my website as our news feed gets picked up by Google News http://www.powerhomebiz.com/BizNews/pressrelease.htm . Press release submission is free, but we don't publish everything we receive and just choose those that we like.

How to get the big guns of publishing to talk about your site - there is only one effective way, and that is to contact the editors directly. Make the pitch extremely interesting highlighting what makes your site stand out from all the other similar sites, and what people can actually get from your site. They are extremely busy people so you need to be quick on the phone; or if it is an email, subject matter of your email should not appear as spam and be interesting enough for the editors to open your email

I have a fabulous press kit, where can I send it for a press release, so magazines, papers, blogs, online sites can pick it up?

What's in your press kit? As a rule, press kits don't need to be sent anywhere - they should be comprehensive packs of information which are hosted on your site so that when journalists need detail, it's all there in one place. You won't win any friends in the media by loading up their inboxes with a full press kit, which is normally comprised of pictures, backgrounders, press releases etc etc.If you're after somewhere to send a press release, that's a different story. First of all, you should do as Annabel Matchfactory suggests and make sure it's got a good story. Then, it's a case of making sure you get it to the right people. There are two easy ways to do this - first, keep an eye out for where your competitors are being written about and add those outlets/journalists to your shortlist. Secondly, get to know the press that covers your area well (both blogs and physical publications) and begin noting down the journalists active in the space. Pay attention to the way they write, the companies they cover, the style they like and you'll begin to get a feel of whether to story you have to offer them will be of interest. As a former journalist, my strong advice would be not to waste your money on wire services unless you're in it for the SEO benefits. You'd be better spending that time on money on making sure you're targeting the right people, even if there are fewer of them. Journalists appreciate a well-researched, personal introduction far more than they do a spammy press release, trust me!

What are the many ways to leverage press releases and get found?

Social networking and LinkedIn is a big help when it comes to gaining leverage. You can also find blogs and submit ideas if need be.Yet, if you want instant gratification with gaining leverage, I suggest you look into PR distribution services. What these websites do is send your press release to journalists and media outlets, depending on where you want your press release to go. It does cost money, but you do get your money’s worth. I’ve used MarketWired and eReleases for a bit, but now I’ve been using Press Release Distribution to Major News & Media Outlets just to see if there’s a difference in distribution. So far, MarketWired has been great, yet their prices were a little pricey for me so I had to stop using their service for awhile. Newswire is cheaper, and their clientele support has been amazing with keeping up with my numerous concerns and questions. Their editorial staff helped me out when it came to writing press releases.PR distribution websites are great in other ways as well. They have writing services, clientele support, and an assurance that your press release will go out there. I highly recommend searching up one that will help you out.

Can I attach images and videos to my press release?

The question is not if “can I” but “how should I do so”.From my perspective, you do need always provide journalist (or people you try to reach) some visual content they might want to use. There are a couple of ways to attach images:put two or three photos in an attached file with descriptionput a couple of photos and inform, that is just an overview and high-quality pics the can find under link (wetransfer, your own server or company base available for journalists)put a link in the copy and invite people to click and download many high-quality materials over there. That would be useful since you want to show them videos tooI agree that adding large attachment will make people annoyed. You have two main goals here:inform people briefly and make publishing content as easy as possiblemake people life easier and not force them to go long way to get your visualsMy recommendation would be to create a stable media center so the audience can go there every time they need and download all materials. Just like Case IH does. I do get new press releases but I’m also aware where I can find them in the middle of the night when there is a need.

Why won't tumblr let me send people messages?

when i try to send a message to someone it comes up with this
'Sorry! You need to verify your email address before you can access this feature. Would you like us to resend the link?'
and when i click 'resend the link' it goes to my dashboard and up the top of the page it says: 'One quick thing: We need you to verify your email address by clicking the link we sent. (Send it again)'

If Someone sends me threatening texts can i press charges. Please help i need to know as soon as possible? ?

Let me tell you right now. You can certainly press charges. What you should do is save your SIM card. But! Here is more good news, even if it is deleted, there is still a record of it. You need to get a restraining order against them, if they are making threats. Plain and simple. Here is a bit of additional good news. Most people that verbally threaten people do not carry out with it. They just want to know that they have power over you. Don't give them that power. They won't do anything because you have proof that they are threatening you. Put yourself in their shoes. They know they have already put themself out there and you have proof that they are threatening you. They would be stupid to do anything because they have shown a motive. The people to fear are the ones that don't say anything. Those are the truly scary ones!

It is also very important to not respond. Don't even let them know you have read them. They will then really start to worry because they will wonder what you are doing!!!!!! Plus, you don't want them to have evidence that you are escalating things. Once they realize they have no power over you, it will be a waste of their time to text you any more. They'd look stupid to do all this stuff to someone that seems to not even care. Understand?

Report it to the police and try to get a restraining order. And stop texting them back.
