How Do I Get Rid Of A Stuffy Nose

How to get rid of a STUFFY nose!!?

I've tried this myself and it worked great for me.
You could go to any pharmacy and get a saline nasal wash and use it as directed, it helps.
What I did was mix lukewarm water with salt and use a syringe to rinse both nostrils about three times each or until you feel that all the stuff had cleared out. Do this before bed every night until you feel the desired relief.
I still do it every now and then as needed.
Hope this helps and good luck!

How to get rid of stuffy nose?

Steps

1. Put pressure at least 10 times on the corner of your nose, the place you would pinch if you were to hold your nose from an awful smell. Your nose should be almost closed each time you put pressure on the area.
2. Put pressure at least 10 times just below where your tears come from (the part of your eye that produces tears).
3. Put pressure at least 10 times on the spot just behind your nose.
4. Massage your earlobe for about ten seconds.
5. Repeat steps 1 and 4 for the other side.

Tips

* A circular movement for each massage/pressure. Don't push until it hurts, just comfortably do it.
* Do not push the cartilage of the nose.
* Drink lots of fluids, such as water, orange juice, and tea.
* Steam from a shower or a kettle may help break the congestion up (note that this usually takes 10 to 15 minutes to work).
* Eat/drink a lot of hot soup. Don't force yourself to eat really hot soup, or you'll get an unpleasantly numbing burn on your tongue. chicken noodle is preferred for this.

How do you get rid of a stuffy nose fast? ?

- Drink plenty of fluids to help keep your mucus thin.

- Apply moist heat (using a hot, damp towel or gel pack) to your face for 5 to 10 minutes, several times a day.

- Breathe warm, moist air from a steamy shower, a hot bath, or a sink filled with hot water. Avoid extremely cool, dry air. Consider using a humidifier to increase the moisture in the air in your home.

- Use saltwater nasal washes (saline lavage or irrigation) to help keep the nasal passages open and wash out mucus and bacteria. You can purchase saline nose drops at a pharmacy or make your own saline solution at home. It may also help to gargle with warm salt water by using one teaspoon of salt per pint of water.

- Use nonprescription medications such as pain relievers and decongestants (for example, nasal spray) to relieve symptoms. Do not give cough and cold medicines to a child younger than 2 unless your child’s doctor has told you to. If your child’s doctor tells you to give a medicine, be sure to follow what he or she tells you to do. Be careful when using some nasal-spray decongestants. They usually should not be used for more than about 3 days. Longer use can lead to further swelling of the sinus membranes after the medicine wears off (called rebound congestion), which makes pressure and swelling worse. You may end up dependent on the medicine if you start using more and more of it to get rid of the pressure and swelling.

- If you need to blow your nose, do it gently. Forceful blowing may force thick mucus back into your sinuses and block them. Keep both nostrils open when blowing your nose.

How to get rid of a runny stuffy nose FAST?

I would go in the shower, turn on the hot water ONLY and wait for like 5 minutes to let the steam rise. THen get in the shower making sure u have a heater on and inhale the warm steam. you could turn the water cold now if you want( not recommended if u r really sick).
If it is a light stuffy nose, follow the above instructions and also try hanging your head upside down on your bed to let the pressure go to your head. Also take Vick's Vapor rub, Mentholatum, etc. and rub it gently on your nose and in your nose. Also try not to blow ur nose to hard as it will increase the runny nose and stuffy nose.
I also recommend drinking hot tea to let the warmth soothe your nose and drink plenty of water.

And as for the Giants game, Have fun :) and don't forget to bring a scarf and a sweater!

Hope this helped :D
