How do i get rid of menstrual cramps?

I have had horrible cramps for a little while now and they run in my family. I have found a few things that work for me.

Working out - I have heard this helps some people, it never worked for me fully though. However, if I work out when I first start to get it (if that is an option for you). It can often speed up the process and have it last only 2 or 3 days.

Diet - It is very important to maintain a healthy diet! Eating things with high potassium levels, such as bananas, helps to a certain degree. Also soups, teas, crackers and ginger ail may make you feel better.

Water - Drinking more water helps some people. Most people are chronically dehydrated, so it will make you feel a little better at least.

Hot/Cold - It depends which you prefer, but putting either an icepack or hot water bottle on your lower stomach should bring some relief.

Other then that try to keep your mind off it, watch a movie, play video games, take a nap, whatever you have to do to distract yourself. I wish you luck!

How can you get rid of menstrual cramps fast?

Before talking about remedies for cramps, it is important to understand the cause of them. Each month, the uterine lining builds up in preparation for pregnancy. If no fertilization occurs, the thickened uterine lining is no longer required and as such is shed; this shedding is the menstrual process. When this lining sheds, the uterus contracts to help release it, and this is where cramps come in. Simply stated, menstrual cramps are caused by contractions in the uterus. If the uterus contracts too strongly, it can press against nearby blood vessels and cut off the supply of oxygen to the muscle tissues in the uterus. When the oxygen supply is cut off, pain results.Women have used various non-drug methods such as hot water bottle, drinking more warm water, multivitamin, herbs for moving blood, and more. Though they are all helpful most of them work too slow. One quick fix is to use transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, also recognized as TENS, through the use of an electrical unit and tiny electrodes. Livia is one of the TENS devices, specifically targeting menstrual pain. All TENS devices are basically off switches to jam the pain signal on its way to the brain. A new device called UMEHEAL takes TENS to a new level that it not only turns off the pain signal but also relaxes the uterus muscle tissues and release the pressed blood vessels to remove the cramp from the source.

(Ladies) How do i get rid of menstrual cramps?

So I dont know if this will work for you but it always does for me.

Take a bucket and fill it up with HOT water (not boiling don't burn yourself just make it right under unbearable temp) and put your feet in it. While your doing this be dressed warmly, put on a sweater or wrap a blanket around yourself. Almost within a minute you can feel you abdomen heating up and it relaxes you and lessens your cramps.

Keep your feet in their until the water becomes warm and fill it up with HOT water again and keep doing it untill you feel better. Its hard to put your feet into hot water at first so I suggest dipping them in and taking them out a couple of times before you put them in fully.

Major thing to know is that you ankles are connected to you female reproductive system you would probably never believe me until you try this (the human body is extremely complex and everything is connected to something else). Maybe thats why they say warm your feet if you want to have good sex.

One way you could get cramps is during the winter time to expose you lower back (also connected to reproductive system) by wearing short shirts or thin ones. Also by exposing your ankles to the cold by wearing flip flops or sandals.

Taking advil and other drugs is not very smart, they might ease your suffering for a bit but they are still drugs and drugs are not the healthy. You could have issues with your heart or body if you take too much Advil or other drugs for pain (most common is liver failure). Or you could get to the point where you are advil (or any other pain-reliever) dependant, and you cant handle the slightest pain without your drug.

How do bananas help with menstrual cramps?

The reason bananas are suggested to help menstral cramps is because they contain potassium. In reality you'd have to consume a pretty large amount of banana to feel the effects. however, mejule dates contain a much higher amount of potassium. That is what I have gathered in my search for relief. Good luck on getting rid of those cramps!
