How Do I Get Rid Of The Upgrade Page

How to get rid of ads on yahoo mail page?

Yahoo likes to make you believe that you have to upgrade to get no more ads, but a couple of weeks ago, when they had technical problems and accidently placed a script in the box on the YA pages instead of the flash ads normally displayed, I found out that adyield-manager is used to place personalized ads. Adyield manager uses cookies to track your browsing habits, so you may get a different ad displayed than somebody sitting right next to you. That prompted me to look for solutions since I don't like to get spied upon, and I found several good solutions...

Download and install the latest Firefox browser:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

Also install "adblock plus":
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Result: no more annoying ads! And pages are loading much quicker too...:-)

http://www.admuncher.com/ - this adblocker for the IE (and other browsers) gets highly recommended in several forums.

http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/26171/safari-adblock - for Safari Mac
http://opindian.com/blog/2009/02/25/adblock-solution-for-safari-4-windows-and-mac/ - another solution for Safari 4 Win and Mac.

I personally have the Firefox installed and don't even see anymore ads on the YA pages...:-)

How do I keep Yahoo Mail Classic, and get rid of the "upgrade now" page that keeps popping up when I go to my?

When I had that pop up, I just click "No thanks" The first time I clicked the X in the corner, it went away. The second time is when I clicked no thanks. It never came back. I still have the classic for now. It's been quite a while since that happened. Crossing my fingers.

How do I get rid of the "Upgrade to MacOS Mojave" notification bar from the top right corner of my iMac High Sierra Desktop?

That message appears because you are suppose to update your OS to get the latest features, compatibility and security protection. If you really want to turn off the notification (not recommended):Click on Mac OS High Sierra Notifications Details option (OR just open Mac App Store)Choose the Updates Tab from the list of App Store Page optionsIn the banner for macOS High Sierra, control-click anywhere inside that bannerSelect Hide UpdateYou are Done

Why does Yahoo mail keep asking me to upgrade my browser to Safari or Firefox?

In the browser world, IE is bottom of the barrel. It has numerous bugs and security holes and is not customizable. Mozilla even offered to license Firefox and Microsoft would build a custom interface, but Microsoft refused. It would have saved years of development and tens of millions of dollars.

You can use both Firefox and Safari with your windows version. Chrome and Opera will work as well.

How do i eliminate "Yahoo recommends you upgrade your browser" message?

There should be an option to eliminate the pop up. Right click on it and see if it says 'Don't show this again' It might say it without clicking on it.

If you are using Internet Explorer, If so, your browser may be in compatibility mode, which causes it to behave as if it is an older version. This can cause Yahoo! Mail to think you need to upgrade your browser. Please see the following Yahoo! Help article to learn how to disable this feature:

Disabling Compatibility View in Internet Explorer 8, 9, or 10 (linked below)

Why all the stupid ads in Yahoo Mail?

Hi,

It is the update. When you signed in you agreed to their new "Terms of Service" that included the fact that they would be scanning your emails for content so that they could "profile" you and send that information on to advertisers "for your benefit"

I will not upgrade and agree to all of that stuff. It is just a way for Yahoo to make money from their advertisers, (and clog our email accounts in the process.) Since the upgrade, many "Smart Phone" users have told me that their phones started ringing with these advertisements - as many as 80 per day. That disrupts their lives and businesses as well.

I am of the opinion that Yahoo will bring back "Classic" for those of us that are willing to pay for it, those of us that are using browsers that the upgrade doesn't handle, and those of us that NEED Classic because of its capability. A small annual fee from all of us would help Yahoo save face for an upgrade that wasn't designed to work for us. Win win situation.

Try to send each of those nasty ads to "Spam"

Maybe the upgrade will take note and delete them from your emails, eventually.

Good luck

How do I get rid of pop-up ads on my RCA Windows PC (laptop/tablet)?

When I go to Google Chrome for anything, ads will pop up and take over most of the screen. Fake ads to download who knows what appear saying I need to upgrade, and others don't let me continue to a site or let me search. Is it because I downloaded Chrome on a Windows computer (which has a different search engine of it's own pre-installed)? Or do I just need to download a virus protector/ad blocker? I just got this laptop/tablet this Christmas (2015) and have barely used it over the past few days. I don't know what's wrong, or if I'm doing something. Please help quickly.

How to stop Yahoo recommendation for upgrading my browser?

This is probably not a viable solution for some, but I get the same on my yahoo mail, plus it keeps asking me if I want to change my theme. It's getting really old. Fortunately, I only have less than a few dozen people I care about who email me on yahoo mail. So if this crap from yahoo keeps up, I'm just going to tell my friends to email me at either Hotmail or Gmail instead. And phug yahoo! who just keeps ignoring my request to help me get rid of the annoying message that make me jump through several hoops before I can access my email.

How can I remove the CamScanner watermark without upgrading it?

All the PDFs which are scanned by CamScanner have watermark on their footer. So its relatively easy to remove it. You can edit PDFs in any online PDF editor like Sejda.com - Online PDF Editor.I also made an Android app to automate the task. As the watermark is in the same place in all pages of scanned PDFs i.e lower right corner. So it can be easily removed through programming. To simply use the app you can see the demo video.Steps to use the App (Watermark Remover for CamScanner):Give required permission to app.Click on + (plus) floating button to add PDFs to process (remove watermark). After selecting PDFs whose watermark you want to remove. Press Modify PDFs button.Watermark from PDFs would be removed and processed PDFs would be saved into documents/WatermarkRemover folder. If you want some technical insights read ahead.Technical DescriptionI used iText library to edit PDFs in Android. The problem of removing watermark from PDFs was pretty static and didn’t possessed much challenge. You can simply think of a solution. THINK What would you do to remove a Watermark from lower right corner.Solution :Actually edit the footer of each page in PDF to remove “Scanned by CamScanner” text.Cover Watermark with a white rectangle. (This is what I implemented)As this question isn’t intended for technical insight. That’s it from my side. If you want to know more. I wrote a detailed post about implementing the solution in Android and also open-sourced the code.
