How Do I Get Rid Of These Thoughts

How to get rid of dirty thoughts ?

If you are serious about this then the answer is to make an act of determination to stop doing this, basically whenever we look at porn and give in to thoughts of lust we undermine our dignity and moral standing, and we also undermine the dignity of the person/persons whom we lust after.
Surely even for non-Christians people the very idea of using others for self gratification must ring false in the conscience and demean the act of real love!
Think of what you have or are becoming addicted too, pixels on a screen? this is also an affront to your dignity and intelligence as a human being.
Of course we all have the ability to lust and the secret is to keep it in check by a solid discipline,it does not help us whenever so much material is available and that some women dress provocatively but when all is said and done each one of us is responsible for our own behaviour regardless of what other are doing.
Try not to put yourself into the trap of watching porn on the commuter or T.V while alone, and remember also that masturbation is such a pathetic act of self gratification that it never can fulfil the innermost need of a man.
I realise that you are not in touch with God being a non-Christian but I have to admire the fact that you are now listening to your conscience and realise that what you have been doing is a `no-where land` of self deceit and ruin, perhaps though, God is closer to you than you think!

How do I get rid of these OCD thoughts?

Nearly everyone has negative thoughts sometimes. Negative thoughts often precede negative emotions. It's important to regularly monitor, and deal with a negative internal monologue (self talk), or mental process, such as disturbing thoughts, images, impulses, etc., by the process of (a): recognising it, and (b): challenging it immediately. Technique For Re-Programming Negative Thoughts: When you notice something negative, such as: "I can't do this/ am never going to get over this!" or: "Why am I always so useless/such a loser?" or even an image, emotion, or a memory; recognise that it is being generated from the negative part of your mind.

After identifying and labelling it, visualise a large, red, flashing, "STOP!" sign, and/or possibly a stern faced person wagging an index finger at you in a negative manner, then say to yourself as forcefully as you can, even aloud in a big voice, if alone: "I know this tactic: GO AWAY FOR A WHILE !!!" You may want to use either: "ruse", "ploy", "game", or "trick". In the case of an image, visualise a large "STOP" sign, or your preferred version.

Some people go so far as to keep a wide rubber band in their pocket, then put it around their wrist, when they catch themselves backsliding, stretch and release it, as a method of reprogramming their mind sooner, but I don't regard it as being strictly necessary. Remember to remove it, afterwards, if you use this method. Try replacing a negative thought with a positive affirmation of your choice, like: "I am a unique individual, with my own set of skills, and good points", or "I may not be perfect, but I'm doing the best I can, right now".

Hypnosis is merely a heightened state of suggestibility, in which you are better able to communicate with your subconscious mind. 85% of people are suggestible, to some degree, so you could either seek professional hypnotherapy, or hypnosisdownloads.com has one about stopping negative thoughts.

How do I get rid of these thoughts?

Many a times different thoughts arise in your mind, it is not easy to get rid of all these thoughts. The thoughts keep coming back over and over again, and if you decide to do something else, you feel uneasy until you finish with that thought. It becomes irritating like a grain of sand in the eye.Similarly, if you are unhappy about something, that sadness does not easily leave you, whatever you do to get rid of it. Even by listening to inspiring discourses that sadness does not go away. Many times you tell your mind that something is trivial and not to worry about it. But the mind or intellect does not pay any attention. So we can chant a Mantra to calm and soothe our mind. Why Mantra? We can do anything to deviate our mind from thinking the harming trivial thoughts. Chanting a mantra is just one of the easiest and best methods to flow like a river in harmony.“Om Namah Shivaya”or“Hare Rama Hare RamaHare Rama Hare RamaHare Krishna Hare KrishnaHare Krishna Hare Krishna”You can try any Mantra as per your devotion to God.A worry is something that is not in place. It is neither here nor there. A mantra is an important too to drive out worries. A mantra has strength and spirit. When these are present, the mind becomes the power of the mantra. With the help of a mantra, the mind loses its smallness and becomes vast; the mind that is dissatisfied becomes content; and the mind that is constantly disturbed by desires is released from them and finds fulfillment.Radhe-Radhe !!

How do I get rid of intrusive thoughts?

I have OCD (or, rather, I now have obsessive-compulsive tendencies; after treatment it is no longer a disorder for me), and I had intrusive thoughts that were disturbing and graphic (deliberately crashing into oncoming traffic, stabbing people if I picked up a pair of scissors, etc).  I spent five months seeing a cognitive-behavioral therapist, and I'm no longer troubled by intrusive thoughts.  In therapy OCD patients learn both that everyone has random disturbing thoughts at some point (doesn't mean a person will ever act on them!) and the techniques that can be used to break the obsession on the intrusive thoughts.  On the first day I saw my therapist, he gave me a long list (multiple pages) of answers from an anonymous survey asking people about their intrusive thoughts.  These were people without OCD who were just found in the general population.  Their thoughts were actually much more graphic, aggressive, and disturbing than mine had been (sex with family members, putting their dog in the oven and roasting it, pulling out their eyeballs), and it made me feel much better to see that intrusive thoughts do indeed happen to everyone.  The difference is that for people without OCD, the thoughts don't cause them any anxiety.  After treatment, my reaction became that of a "normal" person.  When such thoughts come to my mind now, which they do far less frequently, they pass through without me giving them any attention and without increasing my overall anxiety level. In my experience and that of other OCD sufferers I've read about, the single best thing a person who is suffering from intrusive thoughts can do is see a therapist who has experience treating people with anxiety disorders.  Cognitive-behavioral therapy has a good success rate with OCD patients, and if the disorder is particularly severe, various antidepressants can be used.  There is help out there, and it's entirely possible to be a person with OCD (even severe forms) and after treatment go on to lead a perfectly normal life.  I highly recommend finding a cognitive-behavioral therapist in your area if you're having this problem.

How do I get rid of incest thoughts?

First off, it's absolutely natural. Secondly, the only way to get rid of those thoughts, is to confront them.

Chances are your sis is having the same thoughts. It's only bothering you, because you tell yourself it's wrong.

You should either have a serious talk about it with her, like "you need to sit down". Or the more indirect route, install a small hidden camera in her room, and masturbate to her changing. They are cheap, super small they can be hidden anywhere, and wireless. They even sell them in teddy bears, clocks, smoke alarms, etc.

How do I get rid of these incest thoughts?

No, no, no. There's nothing wrong with you. Trust me, I went through it too. D: My brother is one year older than me, and I went through a period where I'd have dreams where we were having sex or even no sex at all - just a romantic relationship together where'd we hold hands and crap. It drove me crazy. I was so disgusted by myself. But someone else also told me that it's normal to have such dreams about your family members - they're a significant male/female in your life and sometimes dreams about them can't be controlled. I even had similar dreams about my dad.

After a while though, I stopped thinking about it - I knew I would never act on such feelings and the fact that I was disgusted by myself was reassuring enough.

I know it can be easier to trick yourself into thinking you have problems - especially considering what you went through before. I've never been sexually abused before, but I still had those dreams. There's a lot of people who are the same. If you think it's related to what happened in your childhood, please see someone about it. You shouldn't be feeling burdened all the time.

edit
Here's the question I asked about it, by the way. XD Maybe it will help.

How do you get rid of thoughts to self harm?

When I stopped cutting, the way I got rid of the thoughts was by talking to people. I'd chat with my best friend and ask about her day, or call my grandma, or joke around with a teammate. I found that while it didn't always cheer me up to talk to someone, it would distract me from that awful cycle of “I MESSED UP AND ALL I WANT TO DO RIGHT NOW IS DIG A RAZOR BLADE INTO MY HIPS”. Suddenly my thoughts would turn to “Wow, I really messed up. That sucks. Maybe tomorrow will be better. I hope [whoever I was talking to] has a nice day. I messed up. Maybe my teammates hate me. Well, there's basically nothing I can do about it right now that'll fix that. Hm. I feel like shit. Best have a snack and get started on my homework.”Talking to someone breaks up that cycle of thoughts before you do anything to yourself. Sure, you might still feel bad, but other thoughts have now been introduced.Other methods I used to help myself stop were:Throwing away my blades (when I was ready, which was sooner than you'd think)When I wasn't ready, moving to a different room than where I kept my bladesHolding an ice cube to wherever I wanted to cutTaking care of cuts that were healing at that point instead of creating new onesGoing for a run or working extra hard at practice so I could physically burn off stressWrapping myself up tightly in a blanketDoing something else with my hands (crochet, reading, homework, etc)Oh, and hey- it's SO much easier to stop cutting if you tell someone what's going on. It's a lot more motivating to think “I promised my best friend that I wouldn't cut anymore” than it is to think “I have to stop cutting before people find out”. Talk to someone. It helps to have support.I still have my scars, more than a year later. They're fading, though. I don't like them and I'm not comfortable with them but I'm getting there. At the very least, nobody that isn't looking for them can see them anymore and nobody ever points them out.The sooner you stop, the sooner the scars will fade.

Would an OCD medication get rid of these thoughts?

Would an OCD medication get rid of your intrusive thoughts?Indirectly, yes. Because the side effects of medications prescribed are diminishing your abilities to be aware of those thoughts.I don't know the type of prescription the psychiatrists prescribes nowadays because I'd been off medications for a long time. Back then I was prescribed Risperdal, its not the medication only prescribed to help with OCD they use it to with people who has schizophrenia too. Feels like a jet lag every single day, when I was supposed to be paying attention I doze off in class and had to lay my head on the table. So it makes you not entirely present and completely aware of your own thoughts and makes me dumb.Another psychiatrist gave Xanax does not help whatsoever it does nothing to help with anxieties.Medications do help because of their unpleasant side effects, in the longterm you'll have to withdraw from it gradually and even before that you'll have to find the right amount, right pills with tolerable side effects which you aren't allergic to.Honestly, I throughly dislike psychiatrists because of the medications they prescribe. They should try taking those medications themselves and feel the side effects on their own before prescribing them. Even Freud did tried Cocaine on himself first before he wrote an article suggesting it as a miracle drug. Psychiatrists should not be influenced by pharmaceutical companies.Believe me I have some idea of what you're going through, you can fight this without those damn pills of theirs. I quit those pills cold turkey thrice, it nearly drove me to madness.
