How dangerous are snakes with a yellow stripe around their neck?

Sounds like you are describing the Northern Ring Neck Snake ( Diadophis punctatus ). If so they are a harmless species with a varied diet. The Western Ring Neck Snake is a vivid brick red belly and ring around its neck. The Northern ring neck is pale yellow ventrally and a light slate grey above and laterally.

What should I do if a snake with a yellow stripe around its neck is lurking around my house?

I’d suggest that the snake is not “lurking”, it’s hunting. It has no interest in you whatsoever but is looking for insects, smaller reptiles, slugs, worms, salamanders and other prey.If you don’t want it in your house, remove all of the things that this snake considers to be food from your home…AND everything that the prey items would consider food. Once you’ve eliminated every insect, earthworms, salamander, etc. etc. from your house and surrounding area, the snake will have to leave to find better hunting grounds. If you live in a home with an unfinished basement, crawlspace etc. the snake is probably happily feasting on all sorts of “creepy crawlies”.You’ll have to make a choice as to whether you’d rather have the “creepy crawlies”, or the snake because it sounds like you might be stuck with one or the other. :-)Please keep in mind too, that there are only two reasons a snake will bite. 1.) they feel threatened. 2.) they’re feeding. If you leave the snake alone you won’t be bitten.

How can I get rid of scratch marks quickly?

OK, so I don't want to get into too much detail but I have some really big scratch marks on my neck from sharp human nails. They didn't really break the skin or anything but there are two very obvious, big scratches going right down my neck. I really need some tips on helping them to be unnoticeable, preferably in the next 14 hours... I have already rubbed a bit of vitamin e lotion on them. I don't have any concealer available to me to try to cover them up and can't get any in time. Anything that would help them to heal up quickly or cover them up that I might have laying around without having to go out shopping would be ideal.

Why does my gym towel have yellow marks after I wipe my forehead?

What I have learned is that perspiration contains bacteria that your body is ridding itself of through your sweat. This bacteria is what causes the yellow color. Some people have more of this bacteria than others. Just think of the workout as cleaning your system, and let your friend think what she wants. It's natural, and your immune system seems to be doing it's job. If it really seem excessive, go to an endocrinologist to make sure your electrolytes, etc. are OK.

Girlfriend had a green/yellow bruise on her neck near her jaw line, she said it was a bruise from when we had a play fight and grabbed each other’s necks, could it be a hickey/lovebite and is it possible to have a bruise from the grabbing of a neck?

The answer to both of your questions is YES. It could be a “hickey” or it could be a bruise. A hickey is actually an injury. The tiny capillaries at the surface of the skin are ruptured from the suction and biting. When they rupture, they bleed just beneath the skin, causing the visible discoloration. The same thing occurs with a superficial bruise. The capillaries break, releasing a small amount of blood under the skin. If you were playing roughly, you definitely could have bruised her neck. The green/yellow coloration only indicates that the hickey or bruise is in the later stage of healing. It takes about one to one and a half weeks for either to turn this color.

Why are my teeth more yellow near the gum line?

This is the natural shading of the tooth structure. Teeth generally tend to be slightly darker (yellower) at the gum line, lighter towards the biting surface, and a blend in between. On the front teeth, a gray color may be visible on the edge of the tooth. The amount of variation varies from on person to the next. Some people have a small amount of variation and others a great deal. Even the blended area between can be a wide area or a very sharp change from one shade to the next. When a crown is made for a tooth, it is important that the different shades are communicated to the laboratory making the crown. If this is not done, a monochromatic crown will not quite match the surrounding crowns. This is a problem wth some of the CAD CAM produced crowns. The acrylic used to machine the crowns are monochromatic and well not accept stain to produce the proper shading oh the crownAnother possibility is recession of the gums leaving root structure showing. The root structure is the color of the underlying dentin which is much yellower than the enamel of the crown. On occasion, we see patients who brush too hard. This can thin the enemal at the gum line and allow the darker and yellower dentin to show through the tooth.

What should I do if a white snake with yellow spots is lurking around my house?

Do you have a photograph? Any details on your geographic location? Identifying the snake would be a good first step. If it’s harmless, then of course there isn’t anything you should do, except welcome it - it will keep the area around your home free of rodents. Rodents can damage your home and pass diseases - snakes can’t.If it’s a venomous species, it would be best to call someone who’s a professional or expert to come and remove it, and release it somewhere away from people. Don’t try to catch it yourself. Most people who are bitten by venomous snakes are bitten while trying to catch or kill them.Of course, based on your description, I have to wonder if this snake might be an escaped pet. It sounds like an albino. Amelanism is a common recessive gene in captive-bred reptiles, and results in a white animal with yellow markings. It’s very, very rare to see it occurring the wild. If the snake is a harmless escaped pet, you should try to capture it and turn it into the local shelter so its owner can hopefully be found. They’re probably missing it!
