On my Android phone, I am getting authentication problems when I connect to my network, even if the signal strength is excellent. What should I do?
Authentication problem occurs when the “handshake” between a router and a gadget fails for any number of reasons. The handshake first consists of the gadget sending a connection request along with the password in an encrypted form to the router. The router encrypts the copy of the password stored on it and compares the received data. If it matches, it sends an acknowledge signal and the devices are connected.Try these things out:1) Forget the network in your phone and enter the password again. It probably saved the wrong password.2) Reset the router. On all routers there will be a small reset button. Keep it pressed for about 5-10s till all the lights glow and release it. The router is now back to the initial setup when it was bought. The default ssid and password will be printed on the bottom of the router. Try connecting to the router using these. If it connects you can now try and change the ssid it back to the original one.3) If even this fails, then go to the router home page by opening a browser on a device which is able to connect to it (either through WiFi or LAN cable) and enter 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and wen requested for a username and password, look for them under the router again. It is usually admin and admin/password. Explore around till you reach the wireless setup page with the option encryption scheme. It is wpa2-psk by default. Change it to wep. This is an older encryption scheme which is not as secure as wpa2-psk but it's enough for a home network. Enter an 8 character password and save these settings. Now give it a try. However, most mobile phone batteries have more than 2 terminals, like 3 or even 4 terminals which provides extra features/support for better charging control. The exact number of additional battery pins and their support differs based on your battery spec.Possible terminals in a 3 terminal battery:VBATBSI (for battery type and capacity) or BTemp (for battery temperature)GNDBSIIn some batteries, the 3rd pin can be a BSI (Battery Status Indicator). It is a connection of resistor to GND. It is used to identify the kind of battery being used. A typical valid battery resistor pulls the internal high resistance pull-up resistor of the charger IC to logic low state, indicating valid battery connection. In short, it is used to identify the type of battery, its capacity and for battery detect.(There are some phones with shorter BSI pin. This is to ensure that when the battery is removed even if phone was on, the BSI circuit interrupts first, which tells the processor to shut down all communication to prevent damage.)BTempSome batteries provides internal temperature sensor as variable resistor (NTC resistor whose resistance value decreases as it’s temperature rises) which is useful as a safety signal. Based on this, charging current and status is controlled to ensure longer battery life. Most answers here have already discussed about this aspect. I dropped my Redmi 4 in water by mistake and now it doesn't work. What should I do now?
You can still get your phone working if you did not do the following things -Tried to press the power button and it turned on for sometime and it automatically went off. And never came back on.Tried to charge it and make it on.Tried to use hair dryer to get the water out.If you didn't do all these , you have 100%, chance you get your phone working.I have personally tried this on my redmi 1s intentionally after seeing videos on it and testing the trick.I placed my phone in water for some 20minutes , used my shower and faucet to put some water into the charging port and headphone Jack.Then I didn't do anything , just took off the battery .Placed it in a rice box for about 20 days( 1 week is enough , sometimes if you dropped only for 1min or less then 3 days is enough) , then I took out the It worked fine.But there were some vapours on inside of screen (similar to what we see on glass and mirrors when you apply water and its dried up).I'm using that phone till now , but those vapours won't go off screen , but its still usable .And im pretty sure my phone was really damaged from water since I did it intentionally for more than 20mins dip and then spray with shower inside the charging port and headphone jack.Remember don't touch the powebutton , just remove the battery and keep aside , don't think to test whether your phone is alive or not , just remove battery and put Into rice box for 2 days minimum for slight exposure to water.Peace!
