How Do I Go To School And Work Too

In high school and college, how much work is too much work?

Everyone is different. Whether it’s the amount of work they get, to how much they can cope, and how much stuff they have going on in the side such as a part-time job or extra-curricular activities, work is work, and it will be difficult.Whenever I’m in the library, most people are engrossed in hours of work they need to do, homework they need to complete, essays they need to type, and assignments they have to meet deadlines for.All this may sound overwhelming and demoralising, but if you have a clear goal of what you want to do in the future, you will reap the rewards of success when you achieve your goals, whether in secondary school, sixth form, or even university.Even for those who don’t stand a chance in school, often try their hardest, as they understand that even if the system doesn’t work in their favour, they can still stand loud and clear and say: ‘I’ve tried my hardest,’ as opposed to ‘I’ve done nothing in my whole school career and wasted all that time.’Even if you don’t have any clear goals of what you want to do, don’t give up. Don’t let all that time go to waste. It may seem like the end of the world, having so much work to do, but one day you won’t need to be doing any of this anymore.

How can I get used to work after school and not get tired "from school to work directly"?

You need a litle break between the two obligations....even 15 minutes of "me" time becomes essential. Call it a mental health break. Do something different every day. Some days, have a cup of sweet tea and put your feet up. The next day slowly stretch for "your fifteen". Perhaps another day read pages from a graphic novel (it engages both hemispheres of your brain) or meditate. Sit in the sun, or bring bread to feed birds and squirrels. Always, at the end of your fifteen, feel gratitude for your life and love for yourself that you are investing in both hard work and self nurturing. Thanks for the A2A

What should I do if I am too lazy to go to school?

It’s all about discipline man. One piece of advice that I must give you is to not rely on motivation, it won’t get you anywhere. Because there will be times where you are not motivated to do stuff, and you will discipline to get through it. Also one thing, I don’t know your situation but do you even want to go to school? Does it make sense for your goals? If school makes sense for your goals and it’s just a laziness thing then you just gotta get past these obstacles. But if you don’t want to go school then decide what you are going to do, but do remember WHEREVER you go there will be challenges/crap you don’t want to do, it’s all part of the process.Even people who are passionate about what they are doing, they have a goal but I guarantee you there are times when they don’t feel like working. But discipline gets them through it.I recommend you start building discipline, you can do this by doing some of these ideas (remember to stay consistent, it’s crucial):Exercise in the morning like going for a morning run or to the gymWake up early everyday (keep in mind maybe you work a night shift, but give your self a limit for example: 8 hours of sleep max per day) You will need to experiment and find out what works for you. Also as soon as you hear that alarm get out of bed, don’t snooze. Place your alarm somewhere far.Do house choresHere are some videos that will help you:If you want to become a more productive person who achieves their goals, and make sure you spend your time as wisely as possible then my app called IAmProductive is for you.IAmProductive, is an easy and effortless solution to getting the most time out of your day and become the most productive version of yourself. Should I go to school when depressed?

I suffer from depression quite a lot due to my social anxiety disorder, and the goings on in my family life. Today has just been one of those days where my brother [as usual] manages to really make me upset, and annoy my parents too. I do see a counselor and we're going to see a family counselor in about 3-4 weeks. That's a VERY long time to wait when you're depressed NOW because of things that happen TODAY. I was depressed a lot in the lower years of school due to bullying and things like that, I'm probably the most out cast-ed person in my school and my grades fell a little because I took about half a year off.
I'm just wondering if it's a good idea to go tomorrow, or to have the day off. I don't really wan't to go in and sit there moping around and not doing any work, as it'll probably annoy my teachers. [Though to be fair he's a great person and the head of 6th, and knows about my depression and counseling.] I may aswell just stay at home with my parents while my bro is out the house and try to do something more creative or try to enjoy myself while theres peace and quite. Because I know i'll probably get to school and just sit there staring at the pc screen for 3 hours.

Lots of you will probably say that going to school would be a good idea, but don't forget in my case school isn't a 'happy place' for me. You could argue neither is my home, but it is as long as my brother isn't there and being horrid to me.

How to motivate myself to go to school?

Some of the kids left school at your age when I was growing up too. I never really understood why. Yes it was hard to go on...yes I felt like leaving days on end too.... There was plenty, I mean plenty of time to pick up sticks and go to work instead of what felt like then, dead end schooling.

But you know why you don't give up so quick. Because High School is so essential to everything. If you want motivation this is how it is, go to school, get your education, then take your break for a bit and you can always work too. But at least if you finish high school you can go on to college or uni....

If you quit now you will be one of the very very very few in your line of work that has not finished high school. When and if in your future you have your own kids do you want to present yourself as someone who quit high school? Think to your future and how you are going to feel because that should be motivating enough for you. Good luck.

My schizophrenic boyfriend is too sick to go to school or work. He complains about pain all over his body everyday, even though doctors can’t find anything. I feel guilty for thinking about breaking up. What should I do?

He's probably experiencing tactile hallucinations which is why the doctors can't find anything. If you can't stand by his side through the thick and thin, break up with him.Personally I believe love will provide you the strength to push on even when it's hard.I've seen it in couples who were having a very hard time with health. When all was dark, it's the one thing they had to keep them afloat. You say he has schizophrenia so I'm guessing he's diagnosed? Is he on medication? What sort of professional mental health support does he have?Hallucinations can be managed by medications and if he's not on them then you should consider talking to him about it. Encouragement can go a long way.Maybe he's already on medication but it's not working. If that's the case he needs to talk to his psychiatrist. He needs a network of people who will be there for him especially if he is having a hard time with living day to day.No one said it was going to be easy and I hope you knew that going in.It's called a mental illness for a reason. If you love him, stand by him.You can help yourself too through research and support groups. Those help, I promise. The psychosis can be managed and maybe he's not on the right meds. Both of you have to be proactive.Truth is, no one can give you a legit answer because you can only find that in your heart. We don't know your story.I am trying to show a more optimistic view of a tough situation.I advice you to think it through and sit down with him and have some communication. There's a lot more I could say but I'll keep it at this.

I work and go to school full time? i am exhausted..tired..etc?

First- I would ask my boss to have all weekends off. Depending upon what type of work you do, I would look for an equal/higher paying job that understands your other priorities. If not then I would try to sit down and have a heart to heart with your supervisor and let them know that you are going to be less productive if you are not able to take some days off. Set up a schedule that works for both of you while cutting back on a little hours. The reasoning behind asking for weekends off (not sure if you have classes on Fridays) that is the best time to get the "brunt" of your homework done.

FYI- I am a graduating senior this semester. I am currently enrolled with 18 hours of coursework. I have 2 small children and a husband at home that I cook, clean, help with hw, ect. I also have a 30 hr pr/week UNPAID internship. My current GPA standing is 3.96. I am also president over psi chi. I definitely have to prioritize my activities. This is how my Monday goes... wake up at 5:30 a.m. get myself and my children ready, drop one off at school the other at nannys, then on to work. I work until 12 or 12:30 then on to class until 5 p.m. I go pick up my children and then cook dinner, get them baths and straighten up my house and make sure my children get their baths. I prioritize my most important homework maybe until 9 p.m. Then relax and go to bed. I make sure to get all of the papers and "hard" homework out of the way on the weekends. This really helps my schedule out where I am not too stressed out. This semester I have a 25 page group project on top of a study I have to conduct, hand out surveys and write a 7 page paper on, all the while having 2 -3 page papers due at least once a week.

MOST IMPORTANT! DO NOT GIVE UP! It is definitely stressful, but doable! One semester goes by so fast I would take the summer off if you are very burnt out! Good Luck!

Should I quit my job and focus on school?

I'm twenty one years old with no kids, not married, and I live with my older sister and her sons. I don't have a car or any bills to pay. I'm trying to go to school while working, but with my week mostly consisting of work, I find it difficult to concentrate on my schoolwork. so I'm only taking three classes right now because I don't feel like I'll be able to stay on top of my schoolwork if I take anymore than that since I'm working all the time. I want to be able to take enough classes and get my gpa up so that I can transfer out of this community college and go to a university. the only thing I'm concerned about is not being able to find a job if I start running low on money.
