What's it like in jdc?
Everything you have is taken from you, and you are given a uniform to wear. You will not see an inmate of the opposite sex while you are inside. School during the day, a little bit of recreation time if you behave after that, and then you are locked in your room either by yourself or with a roommate for the night. If you don't behave, they lock you in your room after school, and it goes from there.
What happens if a school finds out someone does weed?
Depending on his age he will most likely be sent to a Detention Center for teenagers if they did indeed catch him with weed possession. That is basically what it is, a jail for teenagers. And he will be most likely be expelled from your school with no chances to return ever again. I am sure they will consult with his parents and possibly even let them decide what to do with him. That's what can happen when you hang out with the wrong crowd. This kid probably picked up the weed habit from another older, tougher kid, maybe even a college kid or drug dealer. If he has some at his house it will be searched and they will confiscate the materials, and I am sure they will search the school as well.

Can you go to jail for not going to school for so many days?
The minor student does not go to jail, but their parent can be sentenced, yes. If this happens, the child almost always gets taken into custody by child welfare or protective services, unless there is a secondary parent. (not a single-parent household) Unfortunately, after a school files suit for truancy, even if the child has been extremely ill and the parents have doctors' excuses and hospital bills, the parents must still pay, at the minimum, the court fees. Why the court would fine your friend (why would they fine a minor?), I don't really understand, but yes, if a court fines you to pay $$, you better pay it within the prescribed timeframe, or yes, you get to go to jail. And likely get fined some more $$.

Can a 13 year old girl or boy go to jail if they fight someone?
This depends on your local and state jurisdiction as well as the severity of the fight. Did they end up killing someone? Did they break several bones of the person? Did they just scratch someone up. Texas has tried 12 year olds before for murder as well as Colorado. Most of the western and southern states have no age requirement. States that are labeled as more progressive have age restrictions like 16 or 17 in order to be sentenced as an adult. Even in the stricter states that have no age requirement, the crime has to be super atrocious though and even then the person will get sent to “juvi” first before going to adult prison.Most likely a simple fight will just lead to suspension or expulsion from a school. If the police get involved or the person you fought presses charges on you and it’s much worse you will probably end up in a JDC (juvenile detention center AKA “juvi”) for several days maybe a few weeks if you managed to break several ribs and are pretty unrestrained. In juvi you’ll probably have to do community service on top of the sentence once you are done being there.Technically all of this information is “sealed” once you turn 18. So if you reform, go back to school after this and try really hard to clear this from your life by the time you are an adult your employers won’t know anything about this and can’t find this out doing a simple background check. If you apply to a community college, university or trade school they probably will not know either once you are 18 since this is all sealed. *** The only exception to this would be a job with a security clearance like working for the FBI, CIA, State Department, etc. since they look at everything in a persons life and the background check is extreme. Even though this is the case, most of the agencies will not care what happened when you were a minor if you changed and nothing like this ever came up again.However, study after study shows that people who get caught up in juvi especially due to violent reasons (assault, robbery, etc.) have an extremely high percentage of going to jail again as an adult. This is because there isn’t very good reform programming at these centers or prison in general and school systems usually will expel a student than rather try to deal with them. You learn a lot of problematic behaviors in prison/juvi and might even come out worse than before being exposed to hard drugs, rape, gangs in the place.

If you were fingerprinted for it and were arrested and processed for it..they will find it. If you had not been finger printed and had just gone to like a small town mayors court they will not necessarily find it. I had a friend who when he was 12 got arrested for burning trash cans in a field and he was fingerprinted and they said he had been let off with a warning but then when he processed for the military they found it, all they did was talk to him about it and let him stay in the dep since it was minor. The best thing though, is to tell your recruiter about it and I mean tell him every single detail of it so he can really judge the situation, I am sure you aren't the first person who has confronted him about something like this so if anything, just listen to him and RELAX about it. background checks are processed in a 24 hour time, so if it is not there today or tomorrow and they don't call you about it, it did not show up.
