How Do I Group My Email By Sender

Why do all group e-mails now come from sender groupname@yahoogroups.com?

The From: field was previously populated with the sender's Yahoo! ID or display name, but now most just come from the name of the group @yahoogroups.com.

The actual format is:
From: " [groupname]"

It used to be:
From:

I use Thunderbird to read Group e-mails and unless the author signs their message, I've no idea who has written them as they all show groupname@yahoogroups.com as the sender.

Please change this back.

Regards,

Martin.

How do you sort the new yahoo email inbox by sender?

It is possible to sort by sender and subject.

Follow these instructions:
Turn off conversation view in settings (settings > viewing email > enable conversations), then it's possible to sort by sender and subject, etc. (To find options to sort emails, click on 'view' in top-right-hand-corner, directly above the time stamp of the emails.)
Thanks Randy and Zag for the help.

If you forward an email can the original sender see that you forwarded it?

Only if you include the original sender with the forwarded email. In nearly all cases, if not all, when you forward an email you get an empty To, CC, and BCC address input box. The subject generally has “FW” or “FWD” added to the front of the email to show that it’s been forwarded. But ultimately, unless you add the original sender, the original sending will not know that you’ve forwarded the email. Now let me also say this. If the original sender included code embedded within an email letting him know exactly when and how many times the email has been opened, he will know. I see this with CRM software from time to time. But outside of that, with a traditional email, the original sender has zero knowledge you’ve forwarded the email, unless you include him as a recipient when you forward OR one of the recipients that you’ve forwarded the message to informs the original sender.

How to show complete email addresses in yahoo groups?

I am a member of a yahoo group and membership settings are as follows:
-individual email for each post
-Advanced email (not traditional)
But when I receive emails from the group email addresses in that group shows in this format:
sender@... (just three dots after the '@' sign, no actual domain name). So I can't use that email address actually. I tried changing browsers and almost all possible settings..
Thanks for your help in advance..

Adding 'reply to group', 'reply to sender' feature on individual emails?

We sometimes have a problem on my group where people reply to the group (as this is the default setting) rather than the individual poster.

I subscribe to a number of Yahoo groups in the fully featured digest format. At the end of each email within the digest, there are two hyperlinks: "reply to sender" and "reply to group". It makes me think when I do reply as to where I want that reply to go.

Is there any way to incorporate this feature into the group's emails for people who are subscribed to get 'individual emails' rather than a digest? It seems to be this would be a nice feature no matter how one is subscribed to a particular list.

Is it possible to block email from a yahoo group while staying a member?

I don't think anyone's getting it yet. I'm not talking about changing my current groups' settings. I'm talking about changing my email settings to mass block everyone who is not on my contacts list.

The messages get sent to the groups, then from there they go to me. I don't reply to any of the groups' messages through email. If I want to reply, I post on the groups' forums. My reasons for wanting some groups' messages sent as email are private and only reading those message at the groups' page or in daily digests are not valid options for me.

Would I really need to add the email address of every member to my contact list? That is completely unreasonable. Couldn't I just add something like this? (edited here for privacy)

Group Email Addresses
Post message: **** at yahoogroups dot com
Subscribe: ****-subscribe at yahoogroups dot com
Unsubscribe: ****-unsubscribe at yahoogroups dot com
List owner: ****-owner at yahoogroups dot com

Why is sender's name not displayed in yahoogroups posting?

Hi,

We've not seen any other reports of this happening, so you as the Group Owner need to look at your group's logs to figure out what's happening. Most likely the message is being intercepted by Telus and that's causing the weird naming issue. I can confirm this has nothing to do with Yahoo! Groups functionality as we're not Telus and we don't change customer's profile/account information without direct permission.

How to view the logs:

http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=cont...

When viewing the 'Message Posts' logs, look for your posts and the information related to those. Most likely something has been changed somewhere that makes 'Telus' appear instead of your name.

FYI: I don't see 'Telus' as a name associated with your account in any way.

If you provide the group name, I can look into this further for you but cannot guarantee we'll be able to fix it via Answers as we're limited in the information we can acquire via this channel.

Hope that helps!
