How Do I Improve My Art

How can I improve my art?

1st thing you have to practice making the outlines seamless, that would be a baby step for you and also the hardest one. Once the outlines are done you can play with different techniques which you will find in the youtube tutorials and I believe if the outlines are perfect the picture will be perfect, shading and blending will improve with time.I would suggest you to draw live objects and do not use eraser, just be confident and do not throw it away even if it turns out to be horrible, you have to analyze each of your works and learn from the mistakes.I have been drawing to 5 years now I still follow this simple rule and it really pays off.Youtube channel:Artists Around the WorldFacebook pages:Pulak kalita's sketchesChannel's Fb page:Artists Around the World

How do I improve my skills as an artist?

I have read the other answers here and they give the typical and probably correct actions which you should consider, practice being the most relevant. In truth my opinion and suggestions are not relevant to you as I have worked my whole artist career in the experimental/conceptual area of arts and I find your works lacking in freedom of imagination, yes your works show a certain ability of technique but, even with practice, where is that ability going to lead you? How is your art going to develop? My suggestion for improvement would be thus, pin the largest roll of paper you can find to your wall, Go out into the middle of a field and shout as loud as you can for as long as you can, shout until you can shout no more, go back to the paper and draw on it with sticks of charcoal in each hand, don’t draw things, draw your feelings of exhaustion. Take the paper down from the wall, roll it up and put it away, it is unimportant, or at least, it has importance in that the action you have taken will have a liberating influence on all the works you make thereafter.Thank you for the A2A Dayzha, hope you don’t think it was a mistake to direct it to me:-)

How do I improve my digital art?

Go back to the basics.I know everyone hates to hear that, but look for some really in-depth tutorials. Youtube is your best friend with this, and I recommend checking out some of the lectures by Istebrak and some of the videos by Sycra.Once you’ve refined your skills a little, try to learn about things that are a little more difficult. I don't have any idea what your art is like so I can't really give specific instructions here, but say you don't really draw backgrounds that much. If you want to improve on that, learn perspective and how to make your backgrounds interesting but not too distracting from the foreground. Along with that, look over your composition. Does it make sense, or is there too much added space, or not enough? This video by Sycra helps to outline what skills you need as an artist, depending on the kind of artist you want to be:Do you understand some of these things? Try to master them to the best of your ability. Have you never heard of some of them? Work on learning what they are and how to get better at them. There is always room for improvement, whether you know what you need to improve on or not. All you need to do is take a close look and figure out what needs to be better.

Why is my art not improving?

Hey Jeremy, when it comes to art the key is practice. practing has many different meanings. it could be practicing to master a whole piece of art or just as simple as an object from within the art. whenever anybody starts with drawing it often looks childish, the key to this is level of difficulty. try working on something that is rather hard for you to paint/draw. Paint or draw the art piece or thought over and over again untill it turns out how you like it. i myself am an artist. i have pieces worldwide, country to country. never let your mind fool you into saying its not good enough. look at picaso's work. it way look childish but he thrived through life from his art work. good luck my friend, hope my advice helps. email me if you need more advice at. dark_angel_of_rain@yahoo.com

Why don't no one likes my art? how can i improve?

You're on a good path there! =) I think what you need is to really practice build up your artistic skills.

What you can do is to learn how to draw realistically. For example you can't really draw a human, cartoon or otherwise, without knowing the anatomy and how to draw it right? So look out for tutorials on deviantart and youtube on how to draw the human figure and practice often! You can also try using reference photos etc to improve the proportions of the various characters in your art pieces. ^_^

And don't worry about style right now, just concentrate on improving your skills and the style portion normally comes later. And if you have a digitabl tablet feel free to try drawing on a program like photoshop since it has great pressure sensitivity capabilities which if I'm not mistaken (i apologise if i recall wrongly ^_^") MS paint doesn't have. If you do not have a tablet I strongly advise you to simply sketch on paper instead. (In fact when you're starting out, paper and pen would be the best mediums to practice on.)

In any case I hope this helps you out! =) Happy Drawing!

Improving Art Skills?

if you cannot take a class and must find a way to teach yourself--i would purchase (or go to the library) "Walter Foster" art books--on drawing.
as for any specific advice--i would have to see what you have done so far.
when i was in high school, my art teacher told me "i only have time for the students that have talent...Karen, iam sorry, but you are just NOT one of them"
i was a dancer in high school and went on to
become a professional dancer, i fell into a gopher hole--and wrecked my ankle.
i had to do something--so i tried painting. its a long story, but my first painting got a 2ed. place ribbon in a local art show.
i lived out in the mountians and had no way to go to any class. so i had to teach myself.
Walter Foster Books helped me a lot.
later i wrote to artists whose work i came to love--and even tho' they didnt know me--they were good and kind to me and offered a lot of help.
i painted 1500 paintings--had an article in a magazine ( with cover also!)--also a one-wo-MAN art show and many collectors all over the world--pretty cool for a person whose art teacher said she had NO talent.
so, my best advice is PERSEVERE--keep drawing--draw every spare minute--and be your own harshist critic.
being extremely critical (look for any mistake) of your own work--will make you a better artist.
and if you are drawing a face--when you think you are finnished--go put it infront of a mirror.
if it is truly finnished--it will look good in the mirror.
--if not--
it will look terrible...
hope this helps you...."Karmac"

How can I improve my art skills quickly?

There’s a very good chance that you are growing, it’s just that your ability to notice the flaws in your art is also increasing. This is a nearly-universal experience for artists:So take some time to go back and look at your old stuff. Most likely you are going to notice some improvement. But if not, here are some things to consider:Are you relying on stylistic choices as a crutch to cover lack of ability (e.g. drawing only in a cartoony style, drawing faces only from straight on or in profile.)What stands out as the weakest part of your work? Is there a way to focus your practice on that? Are you putting in enough time? Improving your art skill takes time, and if you are only putting in a few hours a week, it’s not suprising progress is slow. Can you get specific, actionable critiques from a colleague or mentor?
