How Do I Know If My Nipple Piercing Is At The Base Of My Nipple

Nipple piercings?

The though of piercing nipples make me so weak I can barely type. OW!

I mean if you want to, that's fine, not my boobs.
But I've never heard of someone whose nipples were "too small" to pierce.

If the nipple is able of becoming pokey, even a little, it should be enough.

OW! This answer has been hard to think about..the pain.

How do i know if my nipple piercing is being rejected?

i got both of my nipples pierced a week or so before x-mas. and a couple of weeks later they felt 100% fine so i went and bought bars (cause the place i had them done made me get hoops) and my dumb *** went and switched them out. i had a reaction with in minutes and switched them back to the hoops but ever since then the right ones been hurting really bad and its always crusty and when i clean the right one there's always a goo coming out of it. (does that mean its infected or) and on top of that the right one always hurts when i move..it feels almost like a bruise. it looks like it shifted and it looks red and irritated...i went back to the place i got it done and they said it looks fine..but the pain comes and goes.

is what im feeling normal or??

Nipple piercing placement?

Nipple piercings should go through the the base of the nipple itself (when erect), not ever the areola. For women, a piercing placed too far back can cause blocked milk ducts...which might not seem very important now, but if you ever plan on getting pregnant and having children, you don't want to have happen. For both sexes, there is a risk of an inward traveling infection that can lead to mastitis if the piercings are done too far back. Also, since you are female, it would be better for your initial jewelry to be barbells, as rings have a tendency to create pressure points that can make initial swelling (and the swelling when you are about to be on your menstrual cycle) worse through healing.

Nipple size isn't very much of an issue as long as you still have at least a little bit of your nipples stick out when flaccid. If your nipples are fully inverted OR go flat when not erect, your piercer will need to know this and will also need to see how your nipples look while flaccid before piercing them (if it can even be done).

As the previous answerer has already said...it is best to go to an experienced piercer to get this type of piercing done. I highly suggest that you go to the APP (Association of Professional Piercers) website to look for a member in your area to get pierced by. If there are no nearby APP member piercers in your area...BME has a shop directory with reviews on their website.

How will I know if my nipple piercing is migrating?

I am literally THE BIGGEST hypochondriac ever. I'll freak out at the smallest things and think something is wrong with me when there isn't. Well how will I know if my nipple piercing is migrating? How long will it take for that to happen? I've had my ears pierced since I was a baby and I've never had any problem with those.

If it does start to migrate after I pierce it can I just take it out even if it isn't healed?

I have had a nipple piercing for 3 years, and it still hasn't healed. Should I just remove it?

I have both of mine done, nipple piercings typically take a long time too heal. My one healed within 6 months and my second one is partially healed and it's been 2 years. I went into my piercer and she said it was alright as long as it wasn't hot too the touch and didn't ooze, I would go ask your pieces to be sure :—)

Can I change my nipple piercings after 3 weeks?

It is recommended to wait a minimum of 6 weeks before changing the jewelry in your nipple piercing. Even then, it’s recommended to return to the establishment you were pierced at so they can change the jewelry out.The jewelry placed in the piercing initially is very difficult to remove. Plus, at 6 weeks the piercing is probably not healed all the way and it could be a struggle to get the new jewelry in.The new jewelry also should be a pure metal that won’t irritate your skin, especially if it’s still healing. If you replace it with a mixed metals ring, it will increase the chance of infection and irritation.

How do I know if my nipple piercings are completely healed?

How long has it been since you got it pierced? If it has been over three months that is considered a good start. How has the healing process gone? If you are cleaning and doing twice daily sea salt soaks and the piercings have had no issues like infection or puss or general irritation, then that is a strong sign. Have they been physically traumatized? If no, then you are in good shape. There really is no good way to know other than the edges or the piercing hole looks healed. The jewelry when handled carefully with clean hands while you clean no longer hurts to move and or sensitive and moves freely. If there is no more crusties or puss then those are signs you are probably healed. It could be three or it could be a year to get to that point. That is the best I can describe.

How do i pierce my nipple with a safety pin?

Ok, so maybe you're into self piercing.

Do RESEARCH on www.bmezine.com.

If you're going to do it (which, you really should have help, it's an extremely difficult piercing to get straight and it does hurt when you do it yourself), then PLEASE use the correct needles and jewelry.

You want to have at least a 14g needle, tribeveled and autoclave sterilized. DO NOT USE A SAFETY PIN. For one, it's not really sharp enough to do a good job, and you will have more trouble healing.

The piercing itself should be at the base of the aereola, when the nipple is erect. Do not pierce through the outer part of the nipple, and do not pierce too close to the tip.

The rings that you use have to be of a specific size. If they are too small, they will cause you serious problems. If they are too large, they will be very uncomfortable and cause your piercings to migrate from irritation.

Do some research on MASTITIS. This is an infection that you could potentially contract (not to mention Herpes or worse) if you are not extremely clean and careful. It will cause gaping pockets of infection in your breast tissue and at worst, you could lose a breast.

Another concern is the fact that you are a woman. In the future, you may want to breast feed. If you place the piercing improperly, you might damage your ability to nurse a child. Properly placed nipple piercings are usually not a problem, but if you screw it up... you'll have a lot of scar tissue.

I am NOT AGAINST NIPPLE PIERCING. I think they are beautiful and courageous piercings. I STRONGLY recommend that you have a pro do it. I've had my nipples pierced twice - once by me (the first time) and a second time by a pro. I have to tell you that it was excrutiating by comparison to do it myself, and they grew out anyways. Please, listen to me from experience.

Whatever you decide, please do some research. www.bmezine.com is great place to start.

Best wishes,

Rob

What does it feel like getting a nipple piercing?

What does it feel like getting a nipple piercing? The actual piercing didn't hurt. The area was cleaned, marked, clamped, pierced and an 18 Gauge captive ball ring inserted. The whole process was over in less than a minute and I don't remember feeling the needle at all.The following 2 weeks were extremely painful. The skin around the nipple and the pectoral area was painfully sensitive to touch and to temperature changes. The pain was an intense burning sensation and you could feel heat radiating from the skin.A shirt touching the area hurt. Keeping the area clean hurt. I slept on my back during that time. The intensity of the pain gradually diminished from extreme to mild discomfort by the 4th week.On a pain scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most severe, I would rate it an 8 at its worst, which was 3 to 5 days after the piercing.

Nipple piercing rejecting or migrating? how would i know?

Nipple piercings may take up to 12 months to heal for some, so I wouldn't call it rejection yet. Having crustiness or a little blood is normal, even on nipple piercings that are several years old.

Migration is actually not a bad thing, since the jewelry may move around during healing. Basically, think of migrating as the jewelry settling in its proper place.

Rejection is a completely different thing altogether. When a piercing rejects, the body will usually try to push out of the body very quickly, usually within a couple months of the piercing. Essentially, if your piercing was going to reject, it probably would have done so by now.

I also don't think your piercing is infected, either. As I said, all of this is normal and does not indicate any problem.

Nipple piercings are really hot! Best of luck with it!
