How Do I Make A Tumblr Network

How much money can I earn from Tumblr and how?

It depends on how many followers you have. As a rule of thumb, you need at least 100k followers to start making any decent amounts of money (say, at least $1000/month). Of course, you could be making more with less followers, but I'm talking about most people here.So let's say you worked hard to grow your Tumblr following over a year and you now have 100,000 followers. How do you monetize them?Option 1. Affiliate links. Tumblr has announced they allow affiliate links as long as they're not the main reason why you create content. So just make sure you keep a reasonable ratio of normal/promotional content. 2:1 should be enough. Your best option here is Amazon, as they have a huge variety of products and you are likely to find stuff that's related to your niche. The numbers: you're likely to average 3% click to order conversions (this is a great number and you should thank Amazon for their skill at converting random traffic to sales) and an average order will net you $1.So for every 100 clicks to Amazon you'll make 3 bucks.Option 2. Adsense. You can add Adsense ads to your tumblr blog - see How to Add Google AdSense to Your Tumblr Blog for detailed instructions on how to do this. However don't expect to get a high cost per click out of tumblr. Keep in mind that the tumblr audience is mostly made up of horny and/or depressed teenagers - not exactly the most premium public. The numbers: Here you'll get very low CPC, probably around $0.05/click. So you'll need 60 clicks to make $3 bucks.Option 3. Donations. This is perhaps the best suited to tumblr and if you implement it right you (read: positioning) might make a decent amount without being intrusive. ProTip: don't use the standard PayPal donate button. It's boring and people are used to it so they will ignore it. Use Ko-Fi instead. The numbers: Now here's why this is my favorite. Previously you needed 60 to 100 clicks to make $3. But now you only need one or two donations to make the same amount. Expect really low conversion rates (0.002% could be a likely scenario). But: since you're not bombarding visitors with ads and you're not publishing promotional material, you're now free to focus on quality content and traffic acquisition.

What is a Tumblr Network?

A Tumblr network is a group of Tumblr blogs that come together to focus on a particular topic or topics. Anyone can create a network, but if you want to join one, you can check the Tumblr Networks tag: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/tumblr%20ne...

Is Tumblr a social network?

its kind of a social network. I've had an account for a while but i dont use it much. Theres kind of a lot of diffeeent blogs but 95% of them are just photos of naked girls and nature. I use it to look at some photos of cool houses. But it isnt anything like facebook if thats what you are wondering about. Im not sure how old you are but if you are older than 25 and not a photographer you probably wouldn't get too much use out of it. i am done with facebook aswell, i use twitter and funnyjunk/4chan.

How do I build a social network of blogs (like a Tumblr) via wordpress?

By social network of blogs are you referring to a social network site where content is from blogs instead of people? That would mean an aggregator site that publishes posts from multiple blogs where users can follow blogs, like, comment blog posts. You can start from existing aggregator plugins but you will need blogs (blog site owners) to join or agree with the aggregation of their content and some custom features for the users to follow blogs.Flipboard.com is probably something similar to what you try to build.

How many followers do you need on Tumblr before you can get a deal with an ad network?

Marko is right. Ad Networks are motivated by page impressions, not followers. Ensure your blog is fully search engine optimised, and make yourself part of the community by engaging with your follower. This will encourage both search engine traffic and Tumblr user to visit your blog and read your content. In terms of Tumblr followers, it comes down to quality, not quantity. Hope that helps. Dan :)

How can I make money using my Tumblr blog?

I don't use Tumblr, so I'll frame the answer more broadly - "how do I make money blogging?" First of all, VERY few people can earn a full-time income from blogging. The percentage is probably similar to the percentage of "writers" who make 100% of their income writing books - very small. Tiny.BUT, people DO make money by blogging, in two major ways:Selling advertising on their blogs (not sure how that works with Tumblr. Google Adsense is always a good start.)Using their blog as a tool to sell something else. (e.g. an author who blogs in order to indirectly build an audience for his books, or an "expert" on some issue who writes commentary on that issue in order to build his credibility as a seller of some product to deal with that issue). However you approach this, the "steps to success" are similar:Blog about an issue which is important to you. You are going to be spending a LOT of time on the keyboard, so pick something which energizes you. It will take months if not years to start making money, so you may as well have fun along the way. And be specific - if you like photography, are you particularly good at nature photography, camera technology, urban photography? Narrow it down a bit.Write every day (or otherwise share content - Tumblr has some cool photoblogs too) or a MINIMUM of 3-4 days per week. Carve out 1-2 hours every day, and call it "Tumblr Time." Put it on your calendar. If you aren't using the time to write, you are using the time to research your next post or interact with your growing audience. If you write enough quality posts, eventually the search engines (and your target audience) will find you. I cannot emphasize this enough.Network with like-minded people - Meet with people who share your interest. Build relationships with them. Guest-post on other people's blogs. Leave insightful comments on other blogs. Respond intelligently to people's comment's on your blog. Be someone that people want to interact with. Answer Quora questions on this topic. Join Facebook and Twitter. BUT...don't be an obnoxious spammer. You are playing a long game here.Remember, it's very hard to get rich doing this, so do it because you are passionate about whatever you are writing about. Two other great resources:James Altucher's blog and ebooks (from which I stole many of the ideas in this post)John Scalzi's Whatever blog (which has build a HUGE audience for his science fiction books)

How can I retrieve an unsaved post on tumblr?

I have an unsaved post on tumblr but when I click retrieve, I get this:
Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page (and then it gives the link) because the network connection was reset. This problem can occur if either the server or the network connection is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.

I didn't put the link but basically that's what it said. Any ideas?

How can I send someone my email in a Tumblr ask?

I want to join a network on Tumblr, and I need to give the guy my email, but I can't send it!
I've tried everything. I've spaced out the email address, I've spaced out hotmail, but I don't know what to do anymore.

Is there any way to send an email through ASK, not fan mail or anything else?
