How Do I Make My Bike Look Brand New

What are tips for brand new bike owners?

Rahul Rocky,First of all congratulations on your new bike.I feel like a motorcycle is like a child and one should try to take the best care of them.Once you get your bike, try to ride it according to the user manual for the first 3000 km. For first 500 km: DO NOT REV YOUR ENGINE ABOVE 5000 RPM AT ANY COST. REMEMBER THAT YOU WILL ALL THE TIME TO TAKE OUT THE BEST OUT OF YOUR BIKE AFTER THE 3 K KM PERIOD IS OVER. The first service will be at 500 km, make sure you get it done on time.2. Between 500–3000 km, keep the RPM under 6000 RPM. Try not to over-speed your bike by riding too fast, keep it under 80 Km/h.3. Keep your air pressure proper in both the tires, keep the chain lubricated, avoid any modifications as it will void your warranty.4. Do not ride your bike while pressing your rear brakes, most people do this and end up ruining their engine.5. Keep your bike clean and polished, you have put in your hard earned money, so keep it shiny.

Im tryin to get a dirt bike, what brands should i be looking for?

Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, or KTM
They are the main brands and are good.
Less then 2000 your gunna be lookin at older used models in the late 90's and early 00's years of those brands that I mentioned.

My brand new 7 gear bike is way slow!?

Install a gas engine with a shift kit. That'll speed you up. I've custom built my Land Rider bike its now an 8 speed with a shift kit. With a 33 cc engine I'm doing level ground speeds of 37 mph. Plan to upgrade to a 49 cc engine in the future, then I'll be able to reach level ground speeds of 45 mph. By the way I've got the only motorized bicycle in the world which shifts gears automatically. Yes I've got my critics for motorizing a Land Rider bike. But there's one undeniable fact against them, the bike actually works. Sure there's been lots of upgrades done to it, however this is common when motorizing a bicycle. I've been riding it for two years now.

First Bike: How to choose one?

You are right to be concerned that you might be rough on your first bike. You might drop it a few times before you get used to it, and you will probably also abuse the clutch. If you get an 'old beater', maybe 10 years old, with not too many miles on it, you can sell the bike after 6 months or a year for about what you paid for it, and also then also you'll have a better idea of what you want.

There are plenty of web pages on how to buy a used bike. If you have a friend who's been riding a long time you could bring him along to check out the bike before you buy it. These days bikes are all pretty dependable, so unless it has high miles or looks trashed it's probably pretty good.

600cc is plenty for a first bike. This is a 'small' bike, less than optimal in comfort for loooong rides, like 500 mi. days, or if you do a lot of two-up riding, but it would have plenty of power for the freeway and plenty enough to be fun.

But the bikes you mention, CBR600, GSX-R and R6 are very serious sportbikes, very special-purpose, very high-strung like a thoroughbred horse. For a first bike I think you'd be better to pick something a little more general-purpose and versatile like a Honda 599 (aka 'Hornet) or SV-650 or Bandit. Those bikes are 'sporty', they handle well and are a blast to ride, but not quite so serious and specialized.

If you really -have- to have the thoroughbred sport bike, after a few months of riding you'll be better equipped to handle it. But for a newbie I think it would be like like learning to drive in a Formula One racer!

Whats the best 250 4-stroke dirt bike for your buck?(Not brand new, used bikes. I'll buy one thats never raced?

I wouldn't be concerned about the make, just find the nicest bike you can for the money. They are all very close, all models will have pros and cons. Generally you want to stay away from the first year of production on any bike (the 2004 CRF for instance). There are no more mods available for one than the rest, they all cost about the same to rebuild and modify. The only 250F that is known to last longer between rebuilds is the KTM 250 SX-F which you didn't list as an option. Anyway, they are all good bikes and you are making the right choice going with a 250F rather than a 2 stroke.

Should I be concerned about "rattling" for my brand new 2007 Harley Sportster 1200L or is that normal?

First off , disregard the crap from the Jap lovin' Harley haters.
Without knowing where the sound is coming from all I can say is that one of the big benefits of buying a new bike is that you can take it back to the dealer and that is just what you should do.
Either they will tell you there is nothing wrong and put your mind at ease or fix it .
