How Do I Make Transparent Emojis

Where can I find transparent PNG files for the new 8.3 Apple emoji icons?

Since hosting them  would be a violation of copyright, I can't share a direct link to any PNG files. However, I can tell you how to easily get them for yourself:The OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 update contains the same set of emoji has iOS 8.3, which - believe it or not - is stored in a TTF (TrueType Font) file, located at: /System/Library/Fonts/Apple Color Emoji.ttfAnother fellow wrote a script a few years back to extract all of the images from this file: https://github.com/tmm1/emoji-ex... You'll need to make a quick change to get it to work on OS X 10.10.3; add "# encoding: US-ASCII" to to first line of emoji_extractor.rb. Then just open the Terminal and run ruby emoji_extractor.rb, and the icons that you're looking for will be in a folder called images on the same place you ran emoji_extractor.rbI'll also be adding similar functionality to the next release of http://iconverticons.com/ to make extracting the PNGs from emoji fonts a matter of drag and drop.

How do you make a heart emoji in text?

The most common and simplest way to type a heart emoji looks like this: <3If you type <3 on Facebook, it will automatically turn into a solid pink heart. If you type <3 in an email or text, it’s still recognizable enough as a heart to get your point across. If you’re on a PC, you can type a heart emoji symbol by pressing Alt+3. Piece of cake!If you’re on a Mac like me, you’ll have to open up your System Preferences and select Keyboard. From there, check the box that says “Show keyboard, emoji, and symbol viewers in menu bar.”Once you’ve checked the box to enable emoji, you can access them by selecting “Edit” from the top menu bar of any program where you are entering text. Click on “Emoji and Symbols” in the Edit drop down menu and you’ll be adding heart emojis to text in no time!❤️ ❤️ ❤️You can also add heart emojis to text by copying and pasting them from Emojipedia. What does a white heart emoji mean?

If it has to have any meanings attached when used in sentence, it would be the feeling of love or simple fondness.Though if you ask how it differs from the symbol in the different colors, the most of us Japanese (inventors and lovers of emoji) including me doesn’t really differentiate in between them, so it’s just a matter of preference I guess. Red or pink is the conventional color, white looks lighter, and so blue or black seems not as popular.(I don’t know if this story holds any equivalence to generations using them today across the world, but I’m just throwing this out there for reference:) When emoji emerged in Japan back in early 2000s, when I was in high school, every guys were like “She actually sent me hearts! This means she likes me!!”. Later we learnt that it pretty much means nothing and merely the decoration. Man I used to be excited to text with girls that uses that emoji. Now not. Just looks cute and all. So if you happened to be a man who’s wondering if the emoji could reflect the affection, though I wouldn’t say there’s no chance, it’s still safer to think it as nothing but just a decoration.

How does one create an emoji and how would one submit it to Apple to be placed on the next update (iOS 10.3/11)?

This is a common misconception, such as people thinking Intel’s Thunderbolt port was made by Apple: Apple did not make emojis. Apple designed the specific look of the emojis in their OSes, but emoji are ASCII characters just like the letters you see in this answer. (As well as numbers, symbols, and other characters that can be typed electronically) Apple has made new emojis and variations on existing ones, but this causes issues between platforms since they vary from standard Unicode. (The emojis with different skin colors, for example, appear on devices that do not support the variations as two separate ASCII characters. Only on devices that support the new emojis do they show up as Apple intended)If you want to create your own emoji, you don't go through Apple… you go through the Unicode Consortium. I hate to burst your bubble, but it ain't gonna happen.

What image format is an emoji? Can I create one?

You can create your own emoji, sure. The trouble is that no one will see it.Have you ever wondered why the emojis you use on Facebook Messenger differ slightly from those on your iPhone or Android?Every device and platform you use has its own dictionary of visuals. This might include custom fonts/typefaces and various symbols (logos and buttons). The challenge, of course, is interoperability — i.e., how do we get visuals to align when people are communicating with each other through different systems? The solution was unicode, a universal dictionary of sorts. Each entry is assigned its own unique code, which is the thing that gets sent to the receiving server (rather than passing on the visual itself). Big companies are then responsible to either source an open-license visual for each entry or to create their own that looks close. If I use an emoji on my iPhone (which has one set of visual designs), you’ll see something similar on your end. My phone tells yours to display whatever symbol your phone’s system has on hand that corresponds to the common unicode.Managing ComplexityGiven the number of languages and platforms out there and how fast they evolve, this would quickly spiral out of control if the unicode system wasn’t tightly managed. As such, the Unicode Consortium was established to decide on which new characters or symbols were worthy of receiving their own entry. They then release all new entries in large packages which roll out slowly with months of notice. When it comes to emojis, two major releases came out in 2016 (Emoji Version 3.0 + 4.0). Submissions for 5.0 (mid-2017) are already closed, which means the earliest an emoji designed today could see the light is 2018.Even then, your odds are slim. Convincing the consortium that your idea is worthy of inclusion is no easy task. They are decidedly behind the times, as is evidenced by the long list of useful emojis which somehow still don’t exist yet.
