How Do I Overcome Muscle Soreness From Working Out

Scared to tear a muscle while working out, how can I overcome this fear?

One thing you have to understand is that muscles get larger due to tears of the actual muscle fibers. The cause of one's strength increasing is due to these micro tears in muscle fibers.I believe you are taking about major tears in the muscle. I would not be concerned about this. You would have to work pass major pain to do this. “No pain no gain” is not the correct mantra of body building.Added info:Any weight lifting or body building regime should not begin without competent advice. Seek out respected info through gyms that specialize in powerlifting and body building. Make sure someone competent follows your routine and give advice thougout your journey in this endeavor. I have been lifting actively for 38 years and I am always humbled by the lack of information that I still have. There are generally 3 agreed upon phases of body building: novice, intermediate, and advanced. A lage majority of those who lift never make it beyond novice, not because of there physique, but because of their knowledgable and technique. Lack of knowledge and proper technique will eventuall bring on injuries. Lifting should be enjoyable and it can be an incredible method of releasing stress. It takes an incredible amount of dedication, but the rewards can be awesome. You have the power to transform your body by implementing a radicle lifestyle. Sorry if I am rambling on, but one last thing. Please do not and I empasize Do Not, take any substance in the form of steroids. Although I have never tried these, I know others who have and trust me when I say it is not worth it.

Should I keep working out with sore muscles?

if the body part that you want to train is still sore from a previous training session then just exercise those muscles using lower intensity. say you benched on Sunday and Wednesday but your muscles are still sore on Wednesday. then just just use 50% of the loads used during the previous training session, it's called active-recovery. using loads that light will not induce microtrauma to those muscles and will actually speed recovery by increasing blood flow and nutrients to that area. basically you just want to go for a pump using low weights and high reps. you can do this for any body part

How does one overcome muscle stiffness and muscle soreness after a hard running session?

Proper recovery by taking rest days, performing foam rolling, yoga stretching, and some light movements. You also want to provide your body with enough nutrients and calories to recover. Eat plenty of carbs and protein to refill that muscle glycogen and also provide amino acids for muscle rebuilding and growth. Proper sleep is important as well. Muscle soreness after exercise?

Yes its normal!
soreness= your muscle was ripped and torn, which is a good thing. thats the point of working out, now eat good and rest =) let your muscle rebuild itself into stronger mucles.

also, ifs your new to working out, yeah soreness is a must. your body will adjust through time.

anyways, soreness= good.
just dont overtrain, rest and let your body rebuild your muscle. then workout again.




ALSO i know you didnt ask but heres some tips:

eat protein immediately after your workout(or asap). the protein will rebuild your muscle and you'll recover faster.

How do you relieve post workout muscle soreness?

what you are suffering from is called D.O.M.S, delayed onset of muscle soreness. this happens because your muscles have not had the correct amount of time to recover properly and everytime you exercise, you are just delaying the recovery time more and more. luckily there are several ways to help prevent this and in some cases stop it. before and straight after exercise stretch VERY VERY well, also try taking a protein shake (protein helps build as well as recovers muslces) and another important one is a suppliment called L Glutamine, this will help boost the natural L Glutamine levels in you body. L Glutamine helps with muscle recovery

Can i take Cyclobenzaprine for sore arm muscles from working out at the gym?

Yes, you can - while the pain IS due to lactic acid, the lactic acid does cause muscle spasm and contraction. The Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) will help remove the spasm and relieve some of the pain.

I'd recommend to combine the Flexeril with an NSAID like Advil for best results, and also take a bath with Epsom Salts and make sure you drink TONS of water (this will help remove the lactic acid from your system more quickly).

I've taken Flexeril many times after rough workouts, and it does work. I've also prescribed it for others for this very reason.
