How Do I Overcome My Fear

How do I overcome my fear of bees?

I totally freak out whenever I see a bee. In school I have to run out of the classroom whenever one comes in. I had this fear all my life. I have apiphobia: extreme fear of bees.

How can I overcome my fear of fish?

I know it might sound a little extreme, but talking to a therapist might help you to understand what causes phobias and why you feel this way, which would make it a lot easier to confront. Hypnotherapy is supposed to be very good, and a therapist would probably be able to refer you to a reputable one.

The important thing to remember not to feel stupid about your phobia, everyone feels differently about things for a reason, the best thing you can do would be to work out what that reason is, and to try and confront it.

However, you will need to take this slowly, don't just jump in a pond full of fish as some people have suggested because this will probably just make your fear worse.Maybe start by watching some fish in a friends tank? then perhaps progress to visiting an aquariam? you wouldn't have to spend all day in there, half an hour would be enough to prove that you can face your fears.
You could also try looking at the fish counter at your local supermarket or grocery store, and eventually progress to buying some fish. You wouldn't have to eat the first time, just having the courage to buy the fish and take it home would be a good step.Have you considered trying to eat fish in an unrecognizable form? fishfingers neither look nor taste like fish.Tuna steaks are delicious grilled, and taste meaty, not like fish at all.I hope some of these suggestions help.

Sorry, have just read your update and i can see that you do like tuna. This is really good, it shows that you are already one step closer to overcoming your phobia.Just remember to believe in yourself!

How to overcome my fear of guns?

I would offer this to anyone who had a real fear. I would say let's go to the range. I would take my MK2 Ruger 22 caliber pistol and my 10/22 with many pre loaded 30 rounders as I had and 2000 or so rounds of 22LR ammo. I would then give you a safety brief and set up lots of reactive targets. Water bottles, sporting clays, poppers, and other targets that offer visual reward for making impact. After shooting 250-500 rounds of 22 you will be forever changed and a gun nut for that day forward.

How Do I Overcome My Fear Of Driving?

I would say its best to face your fears. Get someone who knows how to drive with and get in the car. try to be in an empty parking lot or somewhere where theres not many things to get in the way. start out by slowly stepping on the peddle, or before you turn on the car, just get used to sitting in it, and putting your hands around the steering wheel or however. be patient if you like and when you feel you're ready. turn on the car and start to drive. also watch the other driver show you how its done in case you're not sure about something. make sure to have that person supervise on what you're doing. if you let your fear overcome you, you won't get anywhere.

How can I overcome my fear of fighting?

I try to overcome the same kind of fear you have right now. I’ll describe you my own situation. I have recently joined a martial arts club. Everything is going pretty well, except one thing: the fear of fighting that hampers my movements. After a bit of thinking i came to a conclusion that my fear of fighting emanates directly from my loathing of hurting someone, causing someone pain. What you can do to overcome your fear? If it’s a real fight, being on the street or anywhere else, where your main goal is to cause your opponent pain and to “come out dry” from the confrontation, remember: you either kill, or you get killed (in a figurative sense). See, your opponent’s intents are the same as yours: to cause you pain, so you no longer can continue to fight, and come out of the battle as unscathed as possible. This point is also applicable to situation where you have to fight in a competition. Also, as previous answers stated, practice will ultimately be the solution to your problem. Practice fighting as frequent as possible, ask your dad, brother, friend, anyone to fight with you, but not to the point where you can seriously injure yourself.

How do I overcome my fear of darkness?

Well this is a common question as many of us are afraid of darkness. So here i will share my thoughts related to this question.“Yes” i admit that i am afraid of darkness. During my childhood i was very scared of dark places. In my case during childhood when we didn't had a cable connection me and my brother used to watch horror serials like “Aahat” or “Zee Horror Show” in my neighbourhood. After that we ran like scared chickens towards home.According to me this feeling of getting afraid from dark is more like a self protective mechanism deeply ingrained in our brains right from our ancestors. We fear that something or someone may harm us when we are in darkness. We feel we may not be able to protect ourselves as we can't see our imaginary enemy or ghost or whatever that we fear. Our imagination runs strong during darkness and brings forward our acquired experiences from movies, television shows related to ghosts, spirits, aliens etc. So our brain acts upon slightest noise, image, shadow and imagines it to be a ghost, spirit etc in darkness. Now coming to the solution. There is only one solution - FACE YOUR FEAR. Only when you come face to face with your fear, this problem can be solved. One can do it gradually exposing oneself to fear bit by bit. It is necessary that one faces his fear of darkness boldly if it is affecting his/her life. Have the courage and mental attitude willing to bear a loss if the condition is imaginary else consider your fear as a self protective mechanism and dont shy away from it. One cannot always remain fearless towards dark. At times we can cut a slack. Like when i watched Conjuring 2, i slept two days with lights on. There is nothing to be ashamed of it. Your brain wants security and you are providing it for the time being. But if this problem persists one should take necessary medical help or consult a psychologist.Hope my answer helps.
