How Do I Pack For A One-year Study Abroad Program

Leaving soon for study abroad and scared??!?

So I leave in 2 days to study abroad in Australia for 10 months and don't get me wrong I'm excited but I think I'm starting to lose it. I'm getting nervous and am starting to panic because all my fears are coming to life ...I'm afraid to say goodbye to my family, and overall just nervous...I was wondering if anyone could give me some good encouraging words or experiences :D

Can I bring my dog with me while I study abroad?

I know it's only going to be for a year, but I'm just wondering, is it possible to bring my dog (a Siberian Husky) with me?
He's only 18 months but he was gotten for me when I was very ill so I have a very close bond with him.
It's this that is my only concern with studying abroad because I've never really been away from him before and he gets agitated when I'm not with him or that he knows I'm around.
I know it sounds silly but he's my best friend and the thing that made me get better so it's really important to know so I can properly consider studying abroad because there's nothing I want more than to study abroad.

Oh, I would be going to China if that makes a difference.

Hi all!!

I'm going to England for a study abroad program for about 9 months and I can't come home in between anywhere... I was wondering what I should pack and what I should leave at home since I obviously can't bring all that much...! Thanks for the advice!

Studying Abroad: What can I learn in only 1 year in England as a graduate student?

I spent a year in Scotland doing my first graduate degree. I stayed on (for another five years), so it's difficult to say what is confined to that year in terms of learning in the personal sense (I happen to have met my husband during that first year). However, in the academic sense, I learned a tremendous amount during my Masters degree. It was a very intense year where I not only learned a lot of "facts" I didn't know before, but also learned how to think in many ways - and produced some of my first original research. There is a lot you can pack into a year, but choose your programme carefully to make sure it's worth it. From my experience and that of some of my friends who did graduate degrees in England, a strength of the UK is often that Master's degrees are highly interdisciplinary. If you're looking for a subject specific but general Masters (e.g., I want a Masters in Psychology or Business), think about what aspect of a particular subject interests you, and find a programme that excels at emphasizing that. If you plan on leaving the UK when your degree is done, make sure to do your research on how UK Master's degrees are received in your subject wherever you want to go back to.

Did you study abroad? Why did you choose to study where you did?

I'm doing some very serious research into study abroad (it's why I picked my college), and I'm wondering just what attracts one to a country. Did you go there beacuse that's just where you really wanted to go? Or did you have actual studying in mind?

Question about studying abroad, please help?

Had the same issue but I had a 2.1 and needed a 3.3
Make sure for one year (or a semester) you raise your grade as much as possible. They may like the improvements.

Also, make sure your application is impressive. That may take away the attention from your low GPA.

I raised my Junior year GPA to 3.5 for that year.

2.688 is not that far away from the 2.75, they may not even notice it anyway. are you going with AFS???

It also depends on the country!!! England is normally strict and Japan. Germany sometimes too. But like Austria or Hungary arent so strict when it comes to GPAs
