How Do I Put On Weight In A Healthy Way

What is a healthy way to put on weight as a girl?

Don't feel ashamed about your body. It can be particularly hard at your age not to feel self conscious about how you look, but don't be controlled by what some people think, and certainly not people that judge you only on the way you look. By the way, your BMI (body mass index) is about 18.8 which is still in the 'normal' range. You would also know there are heaps of overweight kids that wish they could be your size. I personally wouldn't recommend to, but if you do try and eat more to put on weight, don't eat and drink lots of sugary snacks and junk. Wholemeal foods like pasta, brown rice, and grain/brown bread will add calories without increasing your risk of diabetes, and don't forget good old fruit and vegetables! Yum! You will find if you play a lot of sport or do a lot of exercise, your need for these types of food increases anyway. Your body has an amazing ability to crave just the right amount of food it needs. That is, unless you eat a lot of junk food high in sugar. Then your body gets confused and lots of things in your body will eventually suffer. (ask your science teacher, they should be able to tell you more)So enjoy being fit and healthy and your healthy physique. Run around, jump about, and play all the sport you want. And know that a lot of people want to be just like you. I was very thin all my life, now I'm a bit older (over 40) and a little overweight (not much, just a little). I used to be very self conscious about how I looked too. Now I realise it didn't really matter how I looked. Some kids can be pretty mean, but don't let them get to you 'cause they're just dumb kids that will always find something to be mean about if that's what they want to do. Don't listen to them. Do what you want to do and what you know is right, and don't let anyone else stop you!

How can I make my children put on weight in a healthy way?

First of all, kids grow naturally and as long as they’re on the “growth chart” as they should be WHY are you trying to make them gain weight????!!!!! As the Mother of 2 rather filled out 30 yr. olds, they come from “solid stock” however my daughter’s children are lean and totally healthy and right where they should be on the growth charts for their ages! They’re getting enough calories and they’ll fill out soon enough as puberty and hormones take over!LEAVE THEM ALONE! As long as they are healthy and all their blood work is fine and they’re growing and doing what they should for their age group, all you need to do is love them, feed them, provide a safe place for them to flourish and thrive and watch them grow! That’s enough a job for you! BACK OFF!

How can i gain weight in a healthy way?

You need to eat or drink 500 to 1000 extra calories each day to gain about one-half to one pound each week. Do not skip meals or snacks. You may need to plan time for healthy meals and snacks if you are very busy. Eat larger portion sizes (or second helpings) during your meals.

Eat healthy foods that are higher in calories:

Bread: Choose heavy breads such as honey bran, rye and pumpernickel instead of lighter breads such as white bread. Add peanut butter, margarine, jam, or honey for extra calories.

Cereals: Granola, Grape-Nuts® and Raisin Bran® are healthy choices and have more calories per serving than puffed rice or corn flakes. The serving size of a cereal is listed on the food label. You can also add more calories to cereals by adding nuts, raisins and other fruits.

Fruits: Bananas, pineapple, mangos, raisins, dates and dried fruit have more calories per serving than watery fruits. Some examples of watery fruits are watermelon, grapefruit, apples, and peaches. A serving of fruit is one medium banana or apple, one-half cup chopped or canned fruit, or one-fourth cup of dried fruit.

Vegetables: Starchy vegetables such as corn, carrots, and peas have more calories per serving than less starchy vegetables. Some examples of less starchy vegetables include green beans, broccoli and summer squash. A serving of vegetables is one cup of raw, leafy vegetables or one-half cup of cooked or chopped raw vegetables. Add margarine, almonds and cheese such as mozzarella for extra calories. Stir-frying vegetables with canola or olive oil will also add extra calories.

Meats: Cook chicken or fish in a small amount of canola or olive oil. Red meats such as beef, pork, and lamb have more calories but they also have more saturated (SACH-er-ay-ted) fat. Saturated fat is a type of fat that may increase blood cholesterol. When you eat red meats, choose leaner cuts. Some examples of lean cuts of red meat are round or sirloin steak, ground round, fresh or boiled ham, or center loin chop.

Beans and legumes: Lentils, lima beans, chili beans, bean burritos and other dried beans are high in calories. These foods are good choices because they also provide carbohydrates and protein.

Also, be sure to lift weights/drink protein shakes. That should help you bulk up.

How to gain weight fast and healthy? im 93 pounds 5'1 and 18?

Um, there are two ways to put on weight. One, exercise and gain muscle. Two, eat even more, make it fatty and you are sure to (though that wouldn't be healthy). I have got to say, at 5'1", so long as you aren't starving yourself or anything, 93 pounds is perfectly alright for a girl. In fact, I am sure you are quite sexy. Guys always want a girl they can pick up and carry through the threshold one day, you would be an ideal catch for even the weak among us. Unless a doctor says you need to put on weight, I would be happy that I can wear a size 1 and feel sexy when I go out on the town.

Also, keep in mind that eventually your metabolism will slow on it's own allowing you to gain weight (and if you get into habits like eating too much, you may have trouble when this does happen).

Help with putting on weight (15.2BMI)?

We were doing statistics coursework and for it someone had to work out my BMI turns out weighing 40kg and being 5'4 means I have a BMI of about 15.2, underweight is anything under 18.5 I think.

I eat a fair amount, I'll give a list of what I ate today.

Breakfast: Full bowl of cheerios with semi skimmed milk.
Snack: Malteaser celebration, twix celebration, rocky road marshmallow square and a froob.
Lunch: Warburton's bread (2 slices) with thick Philadelphia spread, celery, lettuce and ham. Prawn cocktail crisps.
Dinner: Pepperoni pizza with strawberry shortcake yoghurt.
Late snack: Caramel digestives or fudge brownie milkshake.

After dinner is a vague guess at what I'll have. I don't eat that healthy but I play ice hockey once a week and practice my skating twice a week. I really want to put on weight but I don't want to eat lots of fats and be unhealthy the other way.
