Why does yahoo put my questions in the wrong category?
There is an auto select process that Yahoo uses now. It is not perfect, it is based on key words that you use in your question. You can always move your question to where you want it by using the edit feature. Some level 7 users may use it also to move it to the right category, I am careful when I do this, the penalty is steep to do it wrong. The best thing you can do if a question ends up in the wrong category is look after it was posted, and change it. There are ways you can make this work in your favor. ask your question, I have a mathematics question, or I have a question about physics. This will help your question head to the right category. One of the types of questions I move is cell phone charger questions. I frequent the automotive section, and for some reason the words battery and charger land these questions in the automotive maintenance and repair section. I only move them because I know they can get better answers in the phone section.

Do Jeopardy contestants know what the categories are before each episode?
Seriously, if contestants did know, or find out what the categories were before the show, someone would be in very serious trouble! The show’s staff cannot give that info to the contestants, and contestants aren’t allowed where the game is being set up. This is the security issue for all these shows. Wheel contestants are not allowed to know puzzle categories beforehand, Price is Right contestants aren’t allowed to know what prizes are played for and when. That got shows in trouble some decades ago!

Special ed miscatagorization?
I know there are a number of people telling others who misplace their questions in the special ed section (things about IT, college, etc.) that they are in the wrong category. I have befun doing it to--and explaining how to pick teh right category to get a good response. I have recently gotten 2 violation notices for not being an answer......when it is an answer directing a person how to get the info they want.. And we all know the violation system is a joke.....it is clear that a human being does not review the appeals.... QUESTION: Has any one else gotten a violation notice when they informed an asker when special education was and taht their question would be better answered elsewhere? I am putting this question in the special ed section so that the others dealling with this problem see it and this problem is SPECIFICALLY with the Special Ed category................
