How Do I Reason With My Sister About Telling Our Daughter The Truth

How do I stop my daughter from dating black men?

Ah, what an interesting question. My mom probably asked the same thing. About 4 years ago my sister "Sabrina" was 24 and she met this very nice man, "Adam" at the place she worked (a coffee shop). My parents were very interested to meet this guy my sister wanted to date. All my dad cared about was his religious background, which turned out to be the same as ours. My mom, well she freaked out once she found out Adam's color, which was black. My sister really liked this guy, but my mom would not have it and my sister didn't want to ruin her relationship with Mom, so she decided to keep it just friends with Adam. I never knew about Adam until later.Fast forward two years. Sabrina decides to forgo Mom and date Adam because she likes him. Sabrina let dad and I know, I was so thrilled that my sister was finally dating! I met Adam and we hit it off pretty well. When Sabrina finally let Mom know she and Adam were a couple my mom was quite upset and tried to get Sabrina to call it off. My sister didn't cave in. Soon my mom grew to love Adam too.Fast forward a year to July 3, 2017, one of the happiest days of my life. The marriage of my sister to a kind, handsome, intelligent, strong, and funny man. I never once judged Adam for being black, that doesn't define who he is. His love for animation, his devotion to sports and martial arts, his love for my sister, respect for all living things, humor, smile, and so much more is what defines him.My mom only saw a black man, which reminded her of her childhood growing up in LA in the 60's, she had bad experiences with bad people who HAPPENED to be black.if your child or someone you love is in love with another person and he/she is a good person, don't discourage it solely based on skin color.thats like saying the Space Grey iPad doesn't work right or is bad, but the Rose Gold iPad is better, same thing, different color.People are just people. Some good, some bad, we are all of color, white, black, yellow, whatever but that doesn't define us. We Define ourselves.

I told my daughter her sister is prettier than her, now she feels inadequate?

I have two daughters who I both love very much. My older daughter, however, is more physically beautiful than the younger one. This is a fact that everyone, including my husband, agrees on.

The other day she approached my husband and I and asked if her sister is prettier than her. She told me not to lie and to be honest. So I gave her the truth. She threw a book at me and told me that I was a disgrace of a mother and that I deserved to be murdered. I grounded her for two weeks for making such a comment.

I don't understand why my daughter would ask me to be honest and then get so angry for me telling the truth. I don't think I did anything wrong?

Please Help! My 9 year old Daughter can't stop lying !?

Thank you so much for your answers, as for discipine.. I have taken stuff away like suggested . Her DS , no friends for the evening. But nothing seems to faze her. I have told her she will lose her friends because of her lies . I told her she is wasting her time because I always know when she is lying ... We told her the story the boy who cried wolf, nothing! I'm just at a loss.
Sometimes I think the way she acts is because of school. She is in a special ed class, but is a totally normal kid who is very popular in the neighborhood, the reason she is in special ed is because she has auditory processing and is behind on math and reading. She doesn't like her class, she has a lot of " different kids " in her class that act out and disrupt the class , but she has no other class she can go in to. I'm at a loss. She told my sister a while ago she knew she was stupid ,that made me very sad. I just don't know what to do. She does not like school at all.

How do I convince my daughter to break up with her boyfriend?

My husband David and his best friend Kyle have been best friends since grade school. They served overseas together, went to college together, and even live 3 blocks apart. Our families do everything together. What he doesn't realize is that Kyle and I have been having an affair since before we were married 22 years ago. Kyle is actually the father of our second child, my Daughter Allie. David has no clue.

A year ago, Allie started dating Kyle's son. It makes sense, our families have always been close, they grew up together, theyre the same age. It's just, I'm freaking out, she has no idea that's her brother. I know they've been having sex, and now they want to get an apartment next year when they go to college. David and Kyle's wife think it's great. They're getting really serious.... what if she gets pregnant??? How do I convince her to break up with him without telling her the real reason? :( I'm not ruining our marriages over this.

How do I get get over the fact that my sister hates me?

I know exactly how you feel. My sis is 2 yrs older and she has hated me (SERIOUSLY) since i was born. As a child i wanted to love her and talk to her but she never once wanted anything to do with me. Always negative comments and telling evryone my embarrasing moments to try to humiliate me and bring me down. And now we are both in our 30s and she still brings up past things to judge me as if what i did was tge worst thing ever. She tells people she was good and i wasnt. She lies about me all the time to try to get people to not like me. And all i ever wanted was to give her my love. So i have come to realise, the problem is her, not me. I have my own life and im very happy and alot of other people love me. I dont need her, and i have grown to not want her anymore. Blood is blood, yes, but when blood hates you for no reason, then i have no reason to stress over it. You should forget her and move on from wanting her. She will always be who she is, and who she is doesnt love you. You deserve love and plus it will make her hate you more when she sees you so happy. So, you win

What is an appropriate punishment for cutting a little sister's hair?

I have four children of whom all have gone through the hair cutting thing in the last three years. It's hair, it grows back! Explaining the wrong and why it was wrong is punishment enough for the haircutting I think. The bigger problem is the lying. My oldest, almost seven now, has a problem with this. I first would make sure for yourself that she really isn't lying, could little sister have cut her own hair? If she is, then discussion about why lying is wrong and a timeout untill the truth is told and an apology for lying is alright I think!

But in all things remember that noone parents quite the same and no child takes punishment the same as well!
